Andrea was our server and she was so friendly and happy. She was able to answer all our questions about the food which was delivered promptly. For less than £13 you can have a selection of sandwiches, wraps or stotties with a generous serving of fries.

My husband and I went for lunch today and were really impressed. The restaurant was lovely, very on trend and the staff were great...very friendly and helpful. We shared a seafood platter, which we both loved. The only downside for me was the desert. It was a Malteser crepe, and other than being filled with cream, I think there was maybe one malteser and half a scoop of ice-cream! I can never understand scrimping on inexpensive ingredients. Saying that, it wouldn't put me off returning...I just wouldn't order a crepe ☺

We stayed here for one disappointing night. The website claims this hotel is pure luxury; it really isn’t. For £285 per night (including £30 for our dog) we were put in a small, tired room with a dreadful view, badly painted and no bath. I think the website is misleading. Plug socket was literally hanging off and the room was unbearably hot. The staff were absolutely lovely although I did email the manager and the hotel to complain but have not received a response.

Probably one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. Incredibly noisy room as there was a wedding on in the hotel and live music blaring below our room until well after midnight. Most of the hotel wasn't available to us to use due to the wedding. We were warned about this by email after booking a non-refundable room, a possibility of some excess noise was mentioned. When we complained to the hotel they said we could have cancelled but there was no mention of this option in the email. If we had known we would have cancelled. We spent the evening in the restaurant as there was nowhere else to go, the service was poor, a shame as the food was good. The radiator in the room didn't work, very chilly in the morning. Nowhere to put towels in the bathroom. There was a stain on the bedroom carpet. The material on the bed frame was ripped and the room was very dark and gloomy. We didn't bother raising these last issues with the hotel as the reception staff had already been dismissive and unhelpful when we complained about the noise, we just wanted to leave having had very little sleep. We have since written a review directly to the hotel and received no response thus far. Shame the video we have can't be uploaded for a sing along!

Food was excellent. I had the fish and chips. Very hot and generous portions. Good variety to choose from and service was good. Staff very nice, around for a chat. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Best place I've eaten this year. Food was excellent, value for money great and service super friendly. A must if you're in the area. Try the chicken or the steak and ale pie plus the the chocolate crepe!

What a fabulous place this is , we booked to have tea and stayed for 3 hours . The food was fabulous, the fish and chips were epic and my partner had the steak , cooked just how he likes it . We were served by a girl think her name was Nicky , what an awesome member of staff , helpful , funny and very helpful, thank you for such a great evening.

Overnight visit to the WDP due to not being able to attend a wedding later in the year so didn't want to lose booking. Room was lovely, very shabby chic and nice ambience. Very warm but it was during the hot weather spell. There was a fan provided but air con would have been magic! (Not sure if this is an option). Bar area set out nice, plenty of places to sit. Couldn't fault the staff, all very friendly and excellent service. Sadly the food didn't make the same impact. Very average and the quality not great. My steak was overdone and very tough. My husband had the steak pie and the pastry was raw inside. I would also suggest serving bottles of mixers to go with spirits. Post mix was not great and considering the prices of drinks you would expect branded mixers. Breakfast was spot on and plenty choice. Overall pleasant stay.

Such a disappointment. Booked in January and had to pay then. Had been excited about the experience. When we came to check in the unfriendly member of staff ignored me until she had finished her task on her computer. Then told me where I wasn’t allowed due to the wedding. I expressed surprise- a hot day and I’d like to sit outside with a drink. Apparently we should have had a phone call a week ago to tell us about the wedding. We hadn’t had one. I sat in the one outside area which was also the staff smoking area (tiny with four benches / tables). Staff shortages meant limited availability in the bar. Bar staff v friendly which made up slightly for reception. Small room with view a foot away of concrete wall. Never again.
