Just amazing cuisine. We've been many times over the years, and the standard has always been incredibly high and totally reliable. Dishes are mostly completely original, and don't follow transient fashion. Quantities are sensible - not large, but commensurate with their richness. The menu gives a wide choice, but there is also an unpublished vegan menu too - my wife isn't vegan, but loves the Moroccan influenced cauliflower dish. And there's a so-called starter nibble of home-made taramasalata with pickled diced cucumber and brioche "toast" that feels as if it had been fried in butter. Nothing faux pink or "cut" to go further - it is just brilliant. Staff are attentive and helpful; and skilled well above what you might expect in a town pub. Not that "pub" really does the place justice - it can compete with almost any top class restaurant. Pricing is on the higher side, but absolutely right for the quality. Anyone who complains doesn't understand top-level cooking.
