Hampton Inn Winfield/Teays Valley

We made reservations two months in advance: one king bed room, one handicapped room. Both Hilton Honors. Upon arrival, the receptionist started with the king bed - no problem. Then she discovered that the handicapped room near mine had inadvertently been assigned to another guest. Starting over, she located one more handicapped room at the other end of the building, and if I was willing to switch to a double queen room we could have rooms close together. I agreed. We got our keys and luggage and headed off. My room came first…. About a minute later my friend called me and said that the room she was assigned was ALREADY OCCUPIED! So, she had to set her luggage into my room, go back downstairs, wait for another room assignment - however “so sorry, there are no more handicapped rooms”! What a mess. She ended up taking a regular room close to mine. After finally getting settled into this room, she discovered that the tv would not work and had to wait for someone to come fix it. The tv quit working again the next day also. Although clean enough, this motel does in no way measure up to most others in this brand. The ice bucket is ridiculous and is placed on top of an appliance cabinet - impossible for short people to reach. The toilet paper is the lowest grade possible, stiff and crackly, no bars of soap at sink, no sheet of tv channel listings, no information about area or area restaurants anywhere in the room. We would never stay here again and could not recommend it.

Hotel seems like it’s not maintained. Equipment in fitness center has been broken for months. Garbage is still there from 3 wks ago. Oatmeal is not cooked, Just oats in warm water. Rooms are ok, but furniture is really old now. Worst Hampton I stay at.

When I made my reservation, I requested a ground floor room. I called at 8 AM the day of my arrival to confirm my reservation. I asked for a ground floor room, and was told by the dest clerk, I will assign your room right now, you have a ground floor. Upon arrival, our room had not been assigned. This property has not returned to pre-Covid aminities. They have no USA Today nor any newspaper. They only have two 1/2 luggage carts, and one full luggage cart, neither has hooks to hang bags on! This property only has one elevator. Our room had no note paper nor pen in our room. Breakfast: There was no mixed fruit,only bananas and apples; No variety of yogert; no cartens of milk. Breakfast offerings is the absolut minimum that can be offered at a Hampton. After breakfast I went to the desk. No-one was there. I rang the bell. no-one came. There was no sign as to where the desk clerk was, nor how long they would be gone, or when they would return. Our room toliet was very noisy when flushed. We I took a poo, it stopped up the toliet! I was told by the desk, the Health Department had closed the pool, and they were awaiting a reinspection of the pool to be reopened. We stop in the area one to three time per year, for the past six years. The next time we pass through we will stay at the Holiday Inn Express just down the street. I suggest you do as well!

We stopped here on our way home from vacation. We used the digital check in so didn't interact with the front desk but they seemed available to other guests. The hotel is a little older but our room was clean and comfortable. They have an outdoor pool only so we didn't get to try it since it was pouring rain when we stayed there. They did have a nice water fountain in the first floor hallway that had the option of filling your water bottles. It was in a good location, between two good restaurants and there were a few more in walking distance too.

We were in the area to help family move. The price of one room was 350.00! We were told this was because there was a soccer tournament going on in the area. That’s price gouging and shouldn’t be allowed. Also this is the Teays Valley Hampton Inn for goodness sake not ocean front in Key West. We will never stay there again and everyone should know how Hampton Inn treats their guests.

Stopped here on advice from a friend. Found it extremely clean with lovely desk staff. The first time I stayed, I was able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast which is better than most other hotels that offer it. I missed the complimentary breakfast on my trip home because I slept until 9 AM due to the extremely comfortable bed! Not an ache or pain! Wish I knew who provided these mattresses as I need a new one at home! Most luxurious!

Hotel was quiet, good parking, and is right between two places to eat within walking distance. Friendly, helpful staff. They did run out of eggs at breakfast but went back on the way out and made up for the egg deficiency. This is a nice location when coming west and you just want to get past Charleston before pulling off.

Very clean place. Everyone was friendly. Will definitely stay again. Goofs breakfast and nice jetted tub. Very quiet and comfortable beds. We completely enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to stay again. Thank you

We have stayed at this Hampton Inn one to three times per year for the past seven years. This property get older and more run down each time with each time we stay.. There were many issues that showed a lack of attention to detail by management and staff. We observed many ****s growing up around the outside of the property. The parking lot is in need of being reblacktopped. One of the parking lot lights was not working properly. As soon as we walked in our room, we could clearly see the phone cord was broken to the phone. The room lights are very low wattage and in the evening the room is dimly lit. I went to get Hot Chocolate at the coffee station and there was no hot water out. Starting at check in, I went to by the desk seven times in the evening, and not once ws any one at the desk.The Breakfast room furniture should have been replaced months ago. The funiture has nicks, splits, and fabric missing. Three of the tables are "Children sized" tables. This property is very much past due in being remodled. Breakfast very, very minimal! No boiled eggs, two choices of cerial; corn flakes and raisin brand. very limited choices of bread and pastries, no cold sliced fresh fruit.. The outside pool was closed. This property allows large dogs to stay in the rooms. No USA Today or any other newspaper. This Hampton only has one elevator. This Hampton is TOO expencive for the condition it is in, and lack of helpfull staff.. In the future we plan to stay at the Holiday Inn across the street, I would suggest you do as well.
