After reading other reviews I thought there needed to be an updated review. It looks as if any renovating of the hotel is complete and there was a parking lot right next to the hotel. There was also breakfast available downstairs with hot eggs, sausages, and a selection of muffins, donuts, bagels, fruit, etc. There's a fitness room with cardio machines and it's open 24 hours a day. Our room had a beautiful mural of Sleeping Giant above the beds and was tastefully decorated. We also had a mini refrigerator in the living room and toiletries provided in the bathroom. The price for an overnight stay here was considerably less than at other nearby hotels near the marina and elsewhere in Thunder Bay. It's a great location for walking to the waterfront, restaurants, shopping and bars. The only issue we had was our room was a little warm and there was a strange smell in the hallway, but like all smells you get used to it and don't even notice it after awhile. As far as homeless people I've traveled a lot this year and saw homeless people in Boston and Cambridge, MA- Missoula and Bozeman, MT- Portland, OR and everywhere in between. I didn't see any homeless people in the vicinity of this hotel but I'm sure that changes upon the day.
