Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marshalltown

I stayed here for an educator conference at Marshalltown High School. I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. The front desk staff were amazing and so helpful. The lobby had water, tea and coffee throughout the day. Fantastic breakfast offered in the mornings.

The hotel just complete a significant remodel and makeover. The rooms are bright and loaded with outlets and USB ports. The lobby is colorful and welcoming. Lots of work stations with power sources everywhere. The pool is nice size, unfortunately there is not a hot tub at this facility. The workout room is loaded with brand new equipment with fresh towels in booth the pool and workout rooms. There is an adjacent laundry room for hotel guests, cost was $0.25 per wash or dry when I visited.

Poor holiday inn express, better options in town. Not maintained well and they don’t clean rooms during stays and lack overall maintenance. A poorly managed ,hotel the bright spot was the help was great. Skip this one unless there isn’t another choice.

We had a very nice stay in this hotel, from the moment that we entered the door until after we had left. The staff in front was informative and friendly and our check-in was quick. (We particularly liked the availability of a hotel cart at the door that we used to transport our many suitcases to our rooms.) Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable, with a variety of pillows to choose from. I was disappointed that our accessible room had only one grab bar by the tub/shower, but at least it had one. The air conditioner in our room was also very loud, potentially making sleep difficult for one member of our party. Breakfast was better than most that I have had. I was almost as delighted by the tasty Denver omelets and cinnamon rolls as I was by the cleanliness of the entire breakfast area. It really was very clean; I commend the staff that made it so inviting. The helpfulness of the staff continued after our stay. When one of our party left something in our room, the hotel manager attempted to contact me multiple times, and we were able to arrange to have the item sent along to our destination so that it wasn't necessary to drive two hours back to pick it up. Bravo! If we pass near Marshalltown again, I would be happy to make another stay at this hotel!

Highly recommend this hotel. My wife and I stayed here for one night on a trip to Wisconsin. The hotel is located just off of the highway (finding the access road to the hotel is bit tricky, but worth it). The hotel appears to be a fairly new property, and the public areas and rooms are very clean. Our room was also very quiet. The breakfast offerings are a cut above much of the competition (such as Hampton Inn). And the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here two mid-week nights, (Weds and Thurs); it was pretty quiet then. Most folks don't know it is back open, after being closed for over a year due to severe wind storm damage. Now, it is just like new, clean and fresh. Staff friendly and helpful. long past any prissy Covid silliness, so full hot breakfast, with different pre-made egg items daily, different types of sausages (Turkey links on Thursday!) and biscuits/gravy, hot oa**eal, all usual cold things,cereal, juice, sweet rolls, etc.. Room was clean and fresh. Bed comfy. HOT shower. Very good stay. They need a sign on Iowa Ave to direct you to the access road west of Casey's to get to the place.
