The staff is friendly. This resort is so clean and quiet. Especially loved the so soft towels, in floor heating, fireplace and comfortable bed. They have thought of everything, including nightly bonfires and daily activities, if you wish to participate.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews but I had to this time. I recently stayed at Bluefin Bay’s Surfside on Lake Superior unit 6 and it was beautiful and perfect for us. We rented the entire unit so we had three levels where we each had a level to our own. The lower unit was perfect for my daughter and husband with their dogs, the middle main floor had plenty of room for my other daughter and her husband and two kids and then the upper floor for me with beautiful views of the lake. The sunrise was spectacular. Sounds of waves, superb. The unit was spotlessly clean, the kitchen, completely stocked. Lovely linens and towels. We had ice skating right outside our door and swimming, spa and sauna just a few steps away. Staff both at Surfside and Bluefin were amazing and so helpful with any needs of ours. My daughters treated me to a massage that was wonderful. I would recommend this unit and this resort to everyone. Especially a memorable family get together. Thank you Surfside and Bluefin Bay

Girls weekend and it was AMAZING!! We stayed at Surfside where It was cold but not too cold to go exploring outside! We made dinner in our room one night went to the pool, sauna and jacuzzi!! We had dinner at Bluefin Grille where we had an incredible experience!!! Everyone from the waiter, hostess and manager then we picked up a movie from their movie selection. We all agreed that this will become a once or twice getaway in the future!!

I've picked the Master Suite (Honeymoon) for my GF and a Siberian Husky for 3 nights. It's a ~22-hour roundtrip drive for us from ND, but absolutely worth it. Pictures don't do justice to the experience. It's truly breathtaking. Sitting in a Jacuzzi watching a snowstorm rage quite literally less than a foot away and in few hours the skies cleared up - that is an experience like no other. The rugged shoreline reminded me of Newfoundland (minus the fjords) but without taking the ferry as having the pet room means you can walk out the room straight onto the shore any time, which is a huge plus. I've only discovered North Shore 2 months ago on a random hiking trip when the leaves were changing so any piece of shore was swamped with people. Haven't met a soul in January (2nd weekend). We walked the freshly snowed shore for hours. Incredible. Same in the main pool/sauna. Spent two hours there at 5 pm and we were completely alone! Nobody's going to believe us that... Price wise, we actually paid about the same per night now as few months ago, except back then that was a chain motel, so I really cannot complain about the price (I got a 3-for-2 special on their own site). Of course,in season, since this is North Shore, prices are updated accordingly. But me and my Husky don't really care for summer crowds anyway. And now I finally understand why is North Shore priced this way. And will come back. To this very same Master Suite. To experience the National Geographic Views from the Jacuzzi. Hopefully with some blizzard, though I am grateful for the snowstorm too. Took me 47 years to find this gem of a place. Not letting it go, for sure...

Our room was set up perfect for our honeymoon with all the comforts of home and more! We had a great experience at the Bluefin Grille for supper each night and at the Coho Bakery for brunch. Highly recommend and we'll be back for our anniversaries for years to come!

The location: Perfect. Lakefront. Beautiful. Central. Lovely. The resort: There are actually 3 resorts. I stayed in Surfside. This appears to somehow be "less than" Bluefin (despite the price being "more than"). It is advertised as newer construction, though it really has a distinctly 1970s vibe so I am not sure how new it actually is. If I had to stay there again, I would stay at Bluefin. From Surfside - 1. you have to drive to get to any of the main resort facilities; and 2. though Bluefin guests can use Surfside's indoor pool/hot tub; Surfside guests may NOT use the outdoor pool/hot tub at Bluefin, something we very much wanted to do in the nice summer weather. The room: We stayed in the Surfside Master "Honeymoon Suite." It had a big jetted bathtub, a gas fireplace (that looked pretty but did not generate any heat), a patio, and spectacular views across Lake Superior through every window. We had the window shades open as much as possible and watched the lake from every angle. I don't think you could get any better with the view. We selected this room for the patio, however we rarely used it because the chairs were so uncomfortable and cheap they were almost unusable - would it hurt to put a couple nice chairs on the patio? The other problem that turned out not to be a problem is we selected this room, rather than cheaper rooms because it had A/C. The A/C did not work - we informed the front desk on our first night but it was never fixed. The evenings were in 50s/60s and we left the windows open and there was no need for A/C at all. Though I kind of feel like a sucker paying for A/C that was not usable. I loved the tub, however, when I turned on the jets, some bugs and debris came out, the tub looked very very clean, this may just be unavoidable, but you basically have to fill the tub, run a couple jet cycles, and then refill it before you bath (it seems like housekeeping should do that in prepping the room). Also, the resort *does not provide housekeeping* unless asked (we had to ask quite assertively to get daily housekeeping), it is unclear their reasons, we were told either as a matter of hotel policy or because of COVID, I suspect its because of ongoing labor shortages, but given we were paying a premium price for the room, turn down service should be expected. Room privacy: Though the room felt private and serene most of the time, in the evenings there was a semi-regular stream of people walking right in front of our ground level windows on the lake side. Considering the bathtub is right in front of one of these windows... let's just say I was almost caught VERY off guard the first evening by the walkers. At one point on a different night, there were two people hanging out with their dog basically our patio for about 5 minutes while we were trying to get changed for dinner, we had to pull down all 5 window shades to get changed in private, and close the doors/screens so we couldn't hear their conversation and

50th Anniversary Celebration with our family: We needed a large place for eight people and a zero entry room for my hubby and I. The townhome is beautiful. It is right on Lake Superior so views of the Lake and it's varied weather are splendid. My husband and I chose the main floor bedroom but the downstairs suite was a master as well and had a jetted tub and additional kitchen. The living room accommodated the group in the evening. The dining room had six chairs but worked well for us. Bonfires every night were fun for us all. Kids used the pool daily. Did wish we could have added a rollaway bed and that there had been a bar in the shower. I requested a first floor room but did not specifically inquire about the shower. Laundry facilities were convenient at the resort. We liked parking right in front of our unit. Location close to so many parks, towns and sites was great. We thought the price was good as well. We had so much planned that we didn't have time to take in the activities that the resort had to offer, but they looked fun. Weather was varied but that was fine with us. We loved it!

Luxury accommodations, gorgeous views on Lake Superior, quiet yet we could be as active as we wanted, fabulous food, friendly staff, relaxing and renewing spa trea**ents. I took my daughter, daughter-in-law, and three granddaughters. We hiked to waterfalls, rode the nearby gondolas, put together a RBG jigsaw puzzle, were rejuvenated in the spa and relaxed in the hot tub and pool and did a little shopping. This was a first but we will make it an annual long weekend away.
