The Victoria Inn

Stayed for one night as part of a Cornwall break. Good food, both breakfast and evening meal , comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money, will definitely stay here again.

Massively disappointing stay here with my Girlfriend on our way through to Cornwall. The photos online are misleading and the property looks nothing like the photos advertised. Our room was very dated, and stank of mold, even though they clearly tried to cover it with a plug in air freshener. To access the room you have to leave the property, and walk past the disgusting smell of the Kitchens Extractor fan aimed at the stairs outside, to then follow down the path of a vile carpet hallway to your room, which looks straight out of a horror movie. The windows have never been cleaned and are covered in cobwebs and grime, The fan had dirt all over it, and all you can hear is the bar downstairs, or the hum from some sort of generator. We left before we had Breckfast because we couldnt get out fast enough, and will never be returning . Worst part of our trip by quite a margin.

Really nice carvery and friendly staff. We were seated near where they make the desserts and it was rather noisy, staff banging things around and talking very loud, was hard to hold a conversation with each other.

Bad breakfast waited over 40 minutes for it to come out both our breakfasts we're wrong waiter dropped some of it on the floor and said he would replace it but didn't the the lady serving our coffee spilled it all over the place and blamed it on just having two weeks off with her kids and to top it all the food it self was awful. We have been coming hear for years but recently things have just got worse. And the best bit was when I was paying the waiter kept pointing at the tips section on the card machine.

Impromptu Saturday Lunch, arrived without booking, front of house very accommodating and swiftly took us to a table and arranged drinks whilst we looked at the menu. We both decided upon the carvery, choice of three meats with a large selection of fresh vegetables. Chef was very polite and chatty while he carved and played the meat choices. Usual help yourself to your choice of vegetables and sauces etc. A good wholesome meal, nice surroundings with helpful attentive staff. Well done to the team

Another great carvery from the team! Friendy staff who attended to our whims. No peas on carvery but they brought peas over, and extra gravy. It was fathers day and the restaurant looked very busy but the standard of service didn't wain! Good job guys and see you soon!

Been going to The Victoria Inn for about 20 years, even had our wedding function there. Never had a bad meal or bad service until tonight. We went there on Friday the 10/06/22. It was a family celebration, 8 of us ordered food and drinks, very disappointed with the food, myself and my wife had to send our dishes back as the carvery meal my wife had looked and tasted like it was a week old, it was dry, tough meat, and tasteless, I had the belly pork which was basically all fat and no meat on top of sludge. The mac n cheese was penne in soggy cheese, basically the worst meal I've had out for a long time, and I don't usually complain about my meals. There was no check back to see if our meals were OK, and when I did say something, there was no apology. Won't be going there again, used to go there regularly but tonight has let us down big time. The only plus about our visit was the polite service we had from Bruce the barman. Very very disappointed. D. Johns.

The atmosphere and the service at the Victoria Inn was (and always is) exceptional. I have visited on many occasions and the food is always impeccable coupled with excellent service and very friendly staff. I certainly highly recommend to anyone.

Had a delivered meals to a wedding venue. Some were good others too cold. The manager contacted me and made a truly great offer to compensate. I work in hospitality and this manager(s) excelled. I would be happy to work with this sort of team. Well done to all.
