Avis : Lokuthula Lodge

Nous avons passé notre première nuit dans ce lodge. Les villas sont spacieuses avec de grands espaces extérieurs. Cependant, c'est un peu rustique et les salles de bains mériteraient d'être un peu rénovées. Personnel très sympathique et disponible. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est varié et la salle du restaurant offre une magnifique vue sur la nature. Bon emplacement pour les chutes Victoria. Bien pour 1 nuit.

What an amazing place to stay. I travelled here in November with Newmarket Holidays and had one of the best holidays of my life. The accommodation was more than sufficient, originally built as timeshare lodges in 1995, our lodge could have accommodated up to 8 people. Aircon in two bedrooms, closable tent style veranda, fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. Added to that the bonus of warthog and Bushbuck wandering around outside grazing - what more could one ask for. A short walk away is the Victoria Falls Safari Hotel with a terrace bar overlooking a waterhole where you will likely see Elephant, Kudu, warthog, hyena (if you’re lucky) and other game. The lodge is in the Zambezi game park, but just a short ride from the Falls and Victoria Falls town. The spa is lovely, the food was excellent, but what really makes it amazing are the Zimbabwean people who move you into their country with open arms. I can’t wait to go back.

We stayed in the self catering lodges which are next to the more glamorous Safari Lodge but are very comfortable, well equipped and surrounded by wild life. There were 2 comfortable bedrooms, aircon in the main bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and fans in both rooms. The veranda is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon watching the game walk past. The staff are just lovely. Go for sundowners at the watering hole. Too beautiful. Highly recommend.

The individual lodges are spacious with thatched roofs and are set in extensive grounds with resident warthogs, vervet monkeys, bushbuck and mongoose. There was a good choice at breakfast. My only minor criticism is that Lokuthula Lodges are a taxi ride away from the centre of Victoria Falls, although there is a shuttle bus.

We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to the Honeymoon suite which was fantastic Our guide Eliot ensure our game reserve drives and boat trip were memorable with great insights into life in the Chobe national park and he had great eyes locating birds and animals for us to marvel at Well set up at lodge for all meals and for sunrise or sunrise drinks

Driving up to the lodge, seeing the elephants and all the animals was just so Unbelievable. The lodge itself was stunning. As I was walking to my Accommodations I was greeted by the warthogs, which was so cool. It is a very safe and beautiful property. Sitting at the bar area of the lodge and just looking out at the beautiful sunset. The food was amazing and the staff couldn’t be more accommodating

The upstairs rooms has 1 ceiling fan and NO Air Conditioning. Only the rooms downstairs have AC. There were 4 of us. We had to use the upstairs. Lighting is faint . The stairs are steep. Senior citizens beware. The boma dinner is inedible and expensive.

We would highly recommend these lodges! They are very comfortable with everything you can need, just a short walk from the Boma or Victoria Falls Lodge which both are great places to eat or have a drink, and there are lots of animals to enjoy right on your doorsteps! The pool is great too and the staff are all very helpful and friendly.

What a wonderful place to stay, we were at Lokuthula for 3 nights and it was amazing. Everything one could possibly want is in the lodges and it is only a short walk up to the main building for breakfast/lunch or a drink. The staff are so efficient, friendly, helpful, and unobtrusive - we could not fault them. The rooms all had mosquito nets for our convenience which helped a lot.

Suited our needs perfectly for 6 people visiting Vic Falls for nights. Convenient Location. Very comfortable. Had all the self catering facilities that we needed.

The lodges are small thatched cottages spread out in the grounds. They have basic kitchen areas, a small lounge and bedrooms / bathrooms. I’d say they are a pretty good budget option compared to some of the other hotels close by which are three times the price. The lodges are simple, clean but you need to provide your own toiletries etc. reception staff were great and very helpful. It’s located on the same grounds as the Victoria Falls Safari lodge (luxury lodge) and this is accessible for drinks or dinner. Also in the grounds is the Boma restaurant / drumming show - for light sleeper it finishes by 9.30 so not an issue at all for us. Do book if you want to go to the show and you get a discount for being at Lokuthula. They offer a shuttle service at set times / drop off points into town which is good, alternatively taxis are $10 each way if you miss the timings of the shuttle. There are often animals around the garden areas of the lodges. Expect to see Kudu, impalas, warthogs etc everyday. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it if your budget doesn’t stretch to some of the more luxury lodges.

A fantastic stay at these lodges, made all the more special by Collette, she made our holiday so much better, an amazing lady, we had a lovely lodge, cleaned every day and linen also replaced daily, the lodges are comfortable and only a short walk to the bar/restaurant, warthogs mongoose and baboons run wild around the place which is entertaining. Food was great, really couldn’t fault anything, even had a free bus into town every day, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Lokuthula Lodges lived up to all expectations. The grounds were abundant with local wildlife and the lodges were beautiful. Staff were available and helpful at all times. Highly recommended stay.
