Kamahi Cottage

Beautiful cottage with lovely innkeepers! Linens & towels were nice along with comfy mattress and other furniture. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed ourselves. Freshly made treats to accompany afternoon tea were wonderful. The porch swings were great for an afternoon nap.

The cottage was nicely appointed, comfortable and had a great landscape view. Our host, although friendly, overall made us feel that as guests, we were not important. Simple items that should have been available for us in the cottage, had to be requested by us. The cottage's website promoted and continues to state “We also offer 2 or 3-course catered dinners. (Extra charges apply and we request 24-hours’ notice)”. However, when we asked for this on our arrival, we were told it was not available to us at any time during our 3-night stay, despite it being a major factor in our choice of accommodation, to celebrate a mile-stone occasion. The host was aware of our immense disappointment but offered no alternative. We ended up going into the near by town, something we could have done from any other local accommodation. This stay failed to meet our expectations, that had been created by its promotional information both online and repeated in its informational folder. It was the most disappointing of our nine North Island stays, where other host did not raise hopes only to shatter them by not delivering what they said they would. Based on our experience here, we could not recommend it.

We made a point of returning here after staying four years ago. The host, Liz, is warm, caring, and a magnificent cook. This quiet cottage is surrounded by not only her glorious gardens but acres of farming country and amazing stars at night. Yet so much is nearby for the curious. We can't recommend this enough for soaking up peaceful hours and marveling at New Zealand's beauty.

Overwhelmingly beautiful scenery, private cottage, grazing sheep, peaceful relaxation and gracious hosts. The breakfast was amazing. Best French toast ever! Conversation with the hosts was scintillating!

Fantastic hospitality and beautiful location! We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay (wished it was longer!) and the breakfast made by Liz was delicious! A truly lovely place to visit complete with amazing scenery!

We had a wonderful stay at Kamahi Cottage! Owner Liz was so welcoming and provided everything needed for a truly delightful visit. The cottage is in a beautiful location and is quiet, well-furnished, and very comfortable. It is a real treasure!
