I had booked an evening to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family. I had booked the 'Festive Menu', I paid the deposit and recieved an email confirming that everything was ready for the evening of the 23rd at 7.30pm. We arrived at the Restaurant and were handed a sheet of paper containing a menu with at least 6 items not available. I told the waitress that I had booked the Festive Menu, she went away to be replaced by another lady, who I thought was the manager. She told us that the Festive Menu was available as of the 24th, and as my contact number was a French portable, they could not be be bothered to phone a French number. I then showed her the email confirming that I had reserved the Festive menu for the 23rd. She then went into the kitchen, to see what was available from the Festive menu, she returned only to say that a few dishes were available but no steak at all. As it was supposed to be a celebration, this was not acceptable, so after much discussion, we decided to have the deposit refunded and eat elsewhere. I was then told that the lady I had assumed was the Manager, was in fact a member of staff. I asked to talk to the manager, only to be told tjhat he was busy and would not be available until at least 10pm. We left the restaurant having been refunded my deposit, which because of the foreign exchange rates meant that I received less than I paid. In one word, our return visit, to a place we had eaten in before was a DISASTER.
