Wonderful hotel, with lovely staff, in a great position in the lower part of the village. If you are not able to negotiate quite a steep slope to and from the hotel, you may wish to request that they collect and deliver you to/from the station. There is no charge for this. We stayed half board in a standard room, with a fabulous view over the valley. Not cheap, but good value nontheless, as the food is gorgeous. Five course dinner every evening, consisting of salad, soup, main course, dessert and a cheese buffet. Not the most enormous portions, but you won't go hungry. The breakfast is equally as inviting. They have a very good chef. Our room was lovely. The traditional wood-lined room for that true chalet-feel. It must be very cozy in winter! Be aware that there is no fridge, kettle or safe in the room. Whilst were there, it was Swiss National Day, and the hotel very generously offered drinks and nibbles, with traditional music and yodelling! If you want to immerse yourself in the full alpine hotel experience with lovely staff and owners, please choose the Alpenrose, you won't regret it.
