EuroParcs de Rijp

We recently stayed here with a tour group of parents and rugby players. A picturesque location with canals surrounding, some houses had boathouses, all had parking and outdoor seating areas. The houses were excellent, clean, tidy, comfy beds, basic kitchen needs satisfied. The clubhouse with bar/restaurant was very welcoming and the staff very friendly. The boys made use of the pool and outdoor area for sports. It was well situated to visit Amsterdam and many parents commented on how they may come back again! There are local takeaways, (recommend La Pizzeria!) that deliver to site, and the on site food offering was also excellent.

This is a huge park but each property has it's own outdoor area including a parking space and there are many grass and landscaped areas, canals and lakes to give a feeling of space. The 2 bedroom house was well equipped and clean - there are two separate charges if you need to rent bed linen and towels (no t towel). Unfortunately some of the equipment has never been connected to the electric supply eg the cooker hood and at least one bed side light had no reachable electric socket! The bathroom was dark and had a very very strong air freshner hanging on a towel hook - we put this outside the house as soon as we arrived. The outdoor furniture was very comfortable for eating outside and there was a Parasol. Most of the windows have anti mosquito nets so that you can enjoy the fresh air - we had no aircon. There is an onsite laundry room with each wash load costing 5.50 Euros The weekend staff are so friendly and helpful - they arranged for our missing clothes airer to be delivered and answered general questions that we had. However the weekday staff - we an only assume the lady we spoke to on two or three occasions throughout our stay was part of the Management Team - made it quite clear that we were an interruption - we were placing orders for their bread delivery and had a query about staying an extra night - nothing too difficult and we appreciate that our lack of speaking Dutch can sometimes be a barrier. Dutch people everywhere were always so friendly and helpful which made this lady's attitude difficult to accept - very poor Customer Service. We did not stay the extra night as the Management Lady said it was not an issue for her to deal with and to call *********** (who we made our reservation with) - *********** said it must be booked directly with the site Reception. The outcome was that EuroParcs wanted to charge us 308 Euros for this one additional night - we had already stayed 12 nights - even the *********** assistant was shocked at the price!

We stayed at one of the larger holiday homes (Villa Kleyn Geluk / #414) at EuroParcs De Rijp during the Christmas break. EuroParcs is a Dutch chain of holiday parks and this holiday park is situated in West-Graftdijk within half an hour of Amsterdam and within reach of picturesque Alkmaar (cheese market during summer months), beaches (Egmond, Castricum, Wijk aan Zee), Zaanse Schans, Museum Broekerveiling a and typical Dutch fishing villages such as Volendam, Marken, Edam. De Rijp, a small village close to EuroParcs De Rijp is worth a visit! We checked in advance and were informed that both the restaurant, take-away and small supermarket were closed during our stay and were advised to drive to De Rijp for a food shop (Plus Supermarket). We were somewhat puzzled why all was closed during the Christmas Break. Upon arrival, we received an information booklet and key which we picked up at the park reception. Our holiday home was spacious which worked well for our group (5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 en-suite, sauna with shower and 4 toilets). However, we soon learnt that our holiday home was not what we expected it to be. Apart from leaving a small box of dishwasher tablets, bin liners, etc, in kitchen and a stack of bedlinen in downstairs bedroom, the place was far from clean and most probably not inspected before we arrived! When sweeping the floors, we gathered more dust than we wished for. Also, surfaces felt sticky and the place did not smell fresh, resulting that we did some cleaning ourselves, a bottle of bleach and disinfecting wipes came to our rescue. While the place looked relatively new, the finish and usage of cheap materials already took its toll (doors that no longer closed (missing lock), broken kitchen drawer, walls with holes/dents caused by the opening of door knobs, loose toilet seat, leak in downstairs bathroom, missing router for Internet, dirty cushions with holes on sofa, blocked drain in shower of sauna, missing and broken bedside lamps. We did report our findings to reception and our feedback was written down. We were offered extra cleaning but since we already took care of the cleaning, we did not take them up on the offer. Since the Technical Team did not deliver a router on Christmas Eve, we went to reception again the following day and one of the receptionists came to our cottage to drop one off. Upon our departure, we had to leave at 10am, two cleaning people knocked on our door and asked us when we were planning to leave. We did not appreciate this, also since they waited at a holiday home opposite ours and came over before we finished packing our cars and left the park (well before 10am), this should not happen! We made the most of our stay but this was down to ourselves. Considering the amount of money which we paid to stay at this holiday home, we expected a better experience and hope that our comments will be taken into consideration so future guests can enjoy a better stay!

We did report our findings to reception but since it was Christmas Eve and it seemed we were not the only guests with complaints that came to the reception, our feedback was written down. We were offered extra cleaning but since we already cleaned the place, we did not take them up on the offer. Since the Technical Team did not stop by for a router on Christmas Eve, we went to reception again on Christmas Day and one of the receptionists came to our cottage to drop one off. Poor facilities, things broken in the accommodation, the tiny house smelt musty and needed cleaning. The noise carried over from the main road due to the position od most of the tiny houses and its just a poorly put together resort with no atmosphere and no care taken to make it feel like a holiday resort.

Ma 17-10, 15.00 uur aangekomen want we mochten niet eerder in checken want park was vol😀. Gemeld bij receptie mutsen. Sleutel #780 gekregen wij omrijden omdat weg was afgesloten. Niks van waar. #780 de vuile was en afval kwam je tegemoet bij het pad. Deur open wat een meur kwam je tegemoet. Door heel het huisje. Gerookt of goor feestje gehouden aan het extreme afval te zien. Gebruikt scheermesje op toiletkast. BK ziet er niet uit tegels en voegen vet veel kalk, douchewand goor. Terras, pad en rand lopen schuin weg en tegels liggen niet gelijk. Parasol krom gebogen. Directie europarks hier stop je je schoonmoeder nog niet in en ons ook niet. Schoonmaakster heeft aan receptie gemeld dat huisje goor stinkt en dat er in gerookt is. Maar die chagrijnige mutsen van receptie proberen hem toch te verhuren. Wij naar receptie en werden weer niet vriendelijk geholpen en alles werd afgeschoven naar jonger meisje. Excuus aanbieden hebben ze nog nooit van gehoord bij europarks. Ja een tegoedbon voor wat drinken voor 2 man als je met z’n 3 bent. Het heeft 2 uur geduurd voor er een ander huisje eindelijk beschikbaar was want het park zit vol. Nou we hebben meerdere keren hier rond gelopen en naar de auto lopen heel wat huisjes staan gewoon leeg. #632 gekregen nou dat ruikt beter en ziet er beter uit maar toch ook een zooi gebreken: toiletbril los, wc-rolhouder defect, doche water loopt naar de deur daardoor ook kozijn verrot, wasbak stroomt niet leeg, geen wegleg voor toilet spullen, in de douche geen wegleg, tv zenders (Nederlands park) nou hiep hiep hoera 3 zenders rest buitenlandse meuk, 1 tv voor 1 woonkamer en 3 slp (lig je dan met griep in bed naar plafond te staren), vieze gore pannen, geen kasten of planken op slp, verlepte bank in woonkamer, deurtje vriezer blijft niet dicht (zelf maar schroef er tussen gedaan). Schuifdeur naar terras defect hoe lang al? Straat verlichting en bij parkeerplaats receptie aarde donker. De enige dag was 17-10 dat we kunnen eten in restaurant waar wel vriendelijke mensen hielpen, daarna was er geen kok meer op het park ! Enquête ingevuld die we via e-mail thuis ontvangen hebben met de naam er onder van parkmanager Michael alles in ingevuld maar een reactie van deze …hannes of excuus na 7 dagen nog steeds niks gehoord.

Total verwohnt. Wir haben online eine Hauskategorie mit schönem Einrichtungs- und Lagebeispiel gebucht. Was wir bekamen war ein Haus ohne wohnliche Einrichtung, heruntergekommene, verwohnte Möbel und Küche. Teile fehlten waren kaputt oder absolut heruntergekommen. Das Bad und die verdreckte alte Toilette möchte ich erst gar nicht beschreiben. Weder die Rezeption noch die Hotline waren irgendwie bereit zu reagieren oder helfen. Finger weg! So schlecht haben wir noch nie Urlaub gemacht - und das für anständig viel Geld!!

Bij aankomst te woord gestaan door een superchagrijnige dame. Aangekomen in het huis: afstandsbediening tv werkt niet, slot voordeur stuk, in badkamer nergens iets om je handdoek op te hangen of om je toilettas op neer te zetten, in de douche kun je evenmin iets neerzetten, van ellende heeft voorganger in de badkamer een nachtkastje en een terrasstoel neergezet, in de gang lekt het dak, drempel staat los in de hoek, voordeur zit zo hoog dat ik nauwelijks naar binnen kom, bovenkant afzuigkap is zo smerig dat ik 'm maar dicht laat, probleem is dat dan het rookalarm afgaat als je kookt, me flink gebrand aan de handvatten van de pannen omdat die gloeiend heet worden, koekenpannen te smerig om aan te vatten. Na een week nieuwe afstandsbediening gekregen. Na 2 1/2 weken is het slot gerepareerd, afzuigkap niets aan gedaan, badkamer evenmin. Na herhaaldelijk vragen nieuwe koekenpannen. En dan als klap op de vuurpijl: ik had 2 boekingen achter elkaar en had gevraagd of het 2de huisje als 1 van de eerste schoongemaakt kon worden zodat ik er al wat vroeger in kon. Ja, dat zouden ze proberen. Op de ruildag zelf kreeg ik te horen dat dat wel was gevraagd maar de schoonmaakdienst had geantwoord dat dat niet mogelijk was. Dat was jammer met deze stromende regen. Toen ik om half 11 uur m'n fiets vast bij het volgende huisje neerzette, trof ik daar de schoonmaakdienst. Ze wisten niks van een dergelijk verzoek, terwijl bij degene die ik sprak alle berichten binnen kwamen, maar niet getreurd: het huisje was al schoongemaakt. Ze hadden wel een heel vreemd appbericht gekregen van de receptie: 'de mevrouw die gaat van huisje 435 naar 740 mag er niet in!!!' Ze gingen even voor me naar de receptie bellen. Nee, gewoon op slot doen. Terug naar de receptie: nou, het zit mee want toen ik m'n fiets neerzette bij het volgende huisje was de schoonmaakdienst daar en er was al schoongemaakt dus het probleem is gelukkig opgelost. Tsja, daar konden ze zich niet meer uitkletsen en ik kreeg de sleutel. De dame die vermoedelijk het appbericht heeft geschreven stond er tandenkn****nd bij. Conclusie: horkerige benadering en huisjes die niet voldoen aan wat er op de site aangeboden wordt. Voor de levering ver onder de maat wordt geen enkele verantwoordelijkheid genomen. Kortom: nooit meer!
