1 Park Road

Best place to stay in Windermere. Hilton was really friendly and thoughtful. My mum and I had a wonderful time there. The location was also really nice, close to the train station and only 25 mins walk to the lake The room was quite, beautiful and cozy. And the breakfast was so delicious that we will never forget. Wish to be there again.

What a perfect weekend we’ve just had in The Lakes. We stayed two nights at 1 Park Road and can not fault it. The room was beautiful, the whole place was immaculate, breakfasts were delicious, and Hilton was a lovely host with meticulous attention to detail. The hotel is superbly located just a five minute walk into the heart of Windermere village, 15minutes to Bowness, 20 minutes to the Lake. We will definitely stay here again.

We have just returned home from a fabulous 2 days in Windermere. The hotel is lovely and a home from home. Every room is very tastefully decorated and furnished ( Hilton very kindly opened all the bedrooms for us to view, as we were the guests staying). Breakfast was delicious, especially Hilton's homemade jams and lemon curd. There's a good choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, bread, teas, coffee and juice. Hilton is a very attentive host and nothing is too much trouble. He also has a wide knowledge of the area, bus and train times and recommendations for bars, cafés and restaurants. We will definitely be returning!

Just returned home from my birthday weekend at 1 Park Road. As always Hilton was the perfect host. The house is beautiful and smells lovely as you walk in. The room was perfect, spotless and warm. Tea, coffee, bathroom products and extras available. The breafast is outstanding, so much choice. This is a great place to stay in Windermere and we hope to return soon.

We stayed at 1 Park Road for two nights at the end of March. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Obviously a quality mattress, we had a great nights sleep. Everything we could want was provided, quality toiletries in the en suite, tea and coffee making facilities including ground coffee and a cafetière. And cookies. A fridge was in the corridor a couple of steps from our room with a choice of full fat, semi skimmed or skimmed milk. There is a separate tv lounge for anyone not wanting to watch tv in their room. Breakfast was excellent, cereals, toast, jam, tea and coffee and a full English fry up cooked to order. Also smoked salmon, omelettes etc. The hotel is situated on a quiet road only a few minutes walk from the centre of Windermere with all that it has to offer, shops, restaurants etc. it’s also only a few minutes from the railway station. The owner, Hilton, was a delight to meet. He is obviously passionate about his business and takes great pride in his B&B. He is knowledgeable about the local area and nothing is too much trouble. A first class host. We highly recommend 1 Park Road, we will return.

Lovely house in an excellent location. Parking is limited at the B&B however, there appears to be plenty of parking on side roads. We had a large bedroom on the 2nd floor, lovely bedlinen and towels and a warm welcome from Hilton.

Our rooms were lovely (Rooms 1 & 6) everything was spot on. Hilton was the perfect host 👌 made us feel very welcome and his breakfasts were top notch, nothing was too much trouble, lovely conversation and great sense of humour 😀 it's plain to see he takes great pride in the upkeep of his B&B and looks after his guests very well. Highly recommended. Great location 👍 thank you Hilton 😊

We have stayed at 1 Park Road many times now, and always enjoy our stay. The B&B is ideally situated in a quiet part of Windermere, only 5-7 minutes away from the main bustling town. Hilton runs a very well organised and friendly establishment and genuinely sets out to make sure you have a good stay. Breakfasts are fabulous and are enjoyed between 8:30am - 9:30am. We loved our stay here again. Our room was lovely, clean, well presented and was just ideal on these late summer nights that we’re experiencing. Excellent value for money and an ideal location to explore the lakes from. Thanks again Hilton. Jane & Steve xx
