Holly-Wood Guest House

We have enjoyed staying at The Holly Wood. Ian the proprietor was available prior to our arrival to answer any questions. We found the property very easily. The whole house is light and very spacious. It is well maintained and so comfortable that we have felt very much home from home. There are some lovely original features in the house. Every bedroom has en-suite, so there were no issues in the bathroom department. The towels are large bath sheets, the best size I’ve ever experienced. The beds are comfortable and plenty of pillows. All the rooms are well equipped, from the kitchen, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms. It was nice to have some basic things available too. Like tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, cling film, foil, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets, washing machine pods.. We replaced or are leaving anything we used up or nearly used up. We had the whole house to ourselves. The location is ideal, a few minutes walk into Windermere town centre or the bus stop for the local buses. A thoroughly brilliant house that suited all of our needs. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to Ian for renting out the whole house. Very much appreciated.

The room was clean and quiet and conducive to a good nights sleep. All the normal amenities were in the room. The young chap we dealt with was friendly and helpful with suggestions. It's only a few minutes walk to the centre with restaurants and pubs. Also a short walk to the lake and about a mile from Bowness. Their was parking at the rear. No breakfast when we stayed but they had a discount arrangement with a café.

We had booked couple of rooms for 2 nights. The place is ten minutes walk from Windermere station, and can be found easily with google maps. The market is about 5-7 minutes walk, which has numerous eateries of all types & budgets. The guest house is more than 100 years old, so it adds to the charm. The owners Ian & Ieva personally look after the guests and are very approachable & helpful. The neighborhood is absolutely peaceful and serene. We had taken a car, & parked it (free) in the adjacent lane. Don't go here if you are looking for 5-star shoo-shaa. Go only if you are looking for peaceful existence away from city chaos. We would stay here again, if we were to visit Windermere again.

Check in late as our train was late. Host, Ian, was very nice about it and it was very smooth. Room was big enough for 2 persons and there was daily cleaning of room. It is less than 10 mins walk from the train station but less than that to the shops. Ian allowed us to check out slightly later which we were very thankful for. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Will come back again.

Loved the stay here. Everything you need for a weekend break and beyond. Toiletries, teas and coffees, even biscuits! Friendly hosts. Will defo return. Off street parking tight but plenty on the road. The one thing I did like was how quiet the place was and couldn’t truly relax

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a fantastic stay in Windermere. The guest house is ideally located, rooms were clean and well presented. Would recommend and definitely stay again, thank you. The bed was huge and really comfy with a good size en-suite too.

The Holly wood guest house Windermere. Would stay again visited with my daughter & Granson. Would recommend this guest house.Rooms clean and the owners are so nice & friendly. On suite bathroom.. went out for breakfast as they don,t do a breakfast at the moment some wonderful places to eat about 5 or 10minute walk to the town. You can get a discount on breakfast at the Brew Room or Sugar & spice if your staying at the Holly wood Guest house.Tried both places brilliant breakfast would recommend them both.

Nothing was too much trouble for Ian and his wife - very welcoming and the accommodation was great. Rooms clean and comfortable - will definitely be back next year. Thanks Ian for a delicious breakfast and a fantastic stay x

We had a two night stay at the Holly-wood guest house nothing was too much to ask the room was clean and modern, we did have breakfast at the hotel (possibly covid related) but ate at the recommended sugar and spice with a discounted voucher which was lovely, parking onsite around the back of the hotel around 3 spaces but they are a tight spot 😬 would definately return again 😁
