The Yorktowne Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Slightly agitated after a 8 hour drive I was greatly relieved and genuinely welcomed by Front Desk Manager Jen Ness. This one person made my stay at the Yorktown. Great and clean hotel. Surprisingly, this is a Hilton. The Hilton Harrisburg, just an hour away is one of the filthiest and decrepit hotels on the planet. Drive to York, PA! The hotel history and small town America make it worth the trip. Thank you Jen Ness!

My wife and I are Lifetime Diamonds with Hilton and have spent over 1,500 nights at Hilton properties. This property is in our top 5 of places we have stayed all over the world. From the moment we walked into the hotel until we checked out, we were made to feel very welcome. This is a hidden gem; the restoration of an old hotel was done very well. The restaurant was very good. We will be back. Do not think twice about staying here, it is well worth the visit.

The front desk ladies were welcoming and inviting. Check in was hassle free. Once checked into our room, we had to request for a housekeeping to re-clean the room , even then so it was not done properly. The bathroom was not stocked with towels, nor wash clothes. There were still garbage in the bathroom trashcan from previous visitors. The hotel rooms are spacious. We enjoyed the rooftop lounge. Parking is across the street from the hotel in a parking garage.

No other place I’d rather stay is a bold statement you may say, but I say it’s true. Just came home from a three day weekend in York and my travel companion agrees with me that the high light was staying at this beautiful historic hotel. Even though it just went through a recent renovation it’s amazing how the owners were able to keep this hotel’s charm from the Lobby to the new Roof top lounge. The staff was very attentive very friendly and most helpful. A TripAdvisor tip here is to pay attention on the approach to checking in and parking. We were able to check in on Thursday 4:00 PM and check out on Sunday at 10:00 AM and pay only $3.00 for the parking in the garage across the street. Have stayed before and attend events. Stayed again for a one-night visit in town. Booked a regular room. Was pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a suite. Hilton chain. Friendly staff. Very clean recently renovated historic hotel right in downtown York. Suite was very clean & size was huge with pull out bed in living room. Bathroom was huge and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. Only downside is parking is across the street in a garage, and it was pouring. It is free on the weekends though, but I believe you pay throughout the week. There is street parking but always was taken. Nice roof-top bar, and a restaurant in lobby. Did not use either this trip, too short. Overall, beautiful hotel with a throw-back vibe. Would definitely recommend.

Love the 60s cool vibe of this modern hotel. All the kinks from our stay a year ago are worked out. Beautiful lobby, excellent breakfast and service from Perla, outstanding room, and gold star hospitality from Concierge Susan! Looking forward to next stay!

The Yorktowne Hotel is what I would describe as a quaint and comfortable hotel in downtown York. Finding the hotel is pretty easy, but the parking is not the best. There is limited parking in the back, but you will have to park in the garage across the street. If you have luggage, I suggest dropping it off in the front before you park in the garage, or you will have to navigate the steps with them. Check-in people were extremely nice, and the lobby area was warm and inviting. One thing the front desk did not tell me was that I received a $30 food and beverage credit a day for being Diamond. I didn't discover this until the last day which means I wasted that $30 for almost four days. The room is also decorated as nicely as the lobby and the carpet gives a relaxing mood. I found everything to be spotless in the room and bathroom. While I would not call the amenities high-end, they were nicer than a standard Hilton Garden Inn. The amenities in the hotel were also a notch above your standard hotel. The workout center had a lot of decent equipment and was clean. The hotel bar in the center of the lobby served great drinks and while I did not try the restaurant, I heard the food was very good as well. If I was ever in town again, I would stay here and take full advantage of that $30 credit. :)

This hotel reopened 31 January 2023 following a multi-year renovation. The result is spectacularly successful. It retains its original charm, while offering modern amenities and super accomodation. For example, the renovated guest rooms are complete with power outlets at a user-friendly level (just above the bedside furnishings) that include USB power points together with conventional 120V AC outlets. The beds are comfortablke, and our bathroom was fitted with a modern walk-in shower with a European-style glass enclosure. It is located at the center of the city within easy walking distance (two or three short blocks) from the Appell Center for Perfoming Arts and a variety of restaurants. Several travel sites list this hotel as a three-star establishment, but in m experience it deserves four, and at very reasonable prices for a top-tier Hilton. The staff members are friendly, helpful, and proud of their hotel, deservedly so.

Beautiful restoration of a 1925 hotel. But. Street noise and inside party noise were intense at times. Beds lumpy. High tech light switches we could not turn on without calling front desk - in a handicap accessible room! There should be a motion sensor activated light as you enter. Breakfast was nice but having a choice between regular smoked salmon or pastrami smoked salmon would be nice. Service was 5 stars - every single staff member was polite and courteous.
