IInvitéL'hôtel est situé près de l'aéroport. La navette gratuite est un atout majeur. L'hôtel lui-même est un peu ancien. Le parc est bien entretenu, avec de nombreuses fleurs, des arbustes, des pelouses verdoyantes et une piscine. Chaque chambre est équipée d'un coffre-fort. Lors de notre premier séjour, notre chambre sentait fortement les produits d'entretien. Nous avons demandé à changer de chambre, ce qui a été fait. L'odeur persistait, mais était moins forte. Le personnel de l'hôtel recommande de rester dans l'enceinte de l'établissement ; il est préférable de prendre un taxi pour se déplacer, et uniquement pour des destinations précises. Les petits-déjeuners sont corrects. J'aurais préféré du beurre plutôt que de la margarine.

IInvitéUpon arrival, check-in at reception was smooth. We were provided with our room key and directed to our accommodation, which required us to drive to the other side of the estate. However, when we reached the room, the key did not work. We walked back to reception, where we were informed that a network issue had prevented the key from being properly programmed. The receptionist, who was very helpful, offered to accompany us to the room and opened it using a master key. She assured us that a functioning key would be delivered as soon as the network was restored.
Upon entering the room, we immediately noticed that it had not been cleaned. The window sill was sticky with what appeared to be beverage spills, the floor was dirty, the bathroom mats were not fresh, and most concerning, there were rat droppings on the window sill, on the floor behind the curtains, and behind the door. I contacted reception to request housekeeping and asked to speak with a manager, as the condition of the room was unacceptable. A housekeeping staff member arrived, but I requested that cleaning not proceed until the housekeeping manager assessed the situation. The manager quickly confirmed that the room had indeed not been cleaned and that there were clear signs of rodent activity. She apologised sincerely, asked us to wait while the room was cleaned, and said she would escalate the matter to the rooms division. While waiting on the terrace outside, we noticed a mouse in the bushes, which explained the droppings found inside.
After the room was cleaned, the manager returned, apologised again, and informed us that a complimentary bottle of wine had been arranged for us. We told her about the mouse we had seen and expressed that we did not feel comfortable staying in that room. She went back to speak with the rooms division, and we waited in the bar. An hour later, she returned with keys to a new room and directed us there. The replacement room was clean, though the entire experience made for a rocky start to our stay.
The following day, after breakfast, we returned to our room to find that the terrace doors had been removed and two maintenance staff were working. This came as an unexpected surprise, as no one had informed us that repairs would be taking place. We decided to return to the bar to allow the work to be completed. As we were celebrating a birthday that day, the housekeeping manager kindly arranged for our room to be decorated with a birthday message.
From that point onward, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks to the exceptional customer service at the restaurants, bars, and spa. In particular, we would like to recognise Moses, Regal, and Tebogo at Kingsley Restaurant; Sibongile at Granatas; and Mandy at the spa for their outstanding hospitality. They truly made our stay memorable.
Overall, despite the challenges we experienced upon arrival, we had a lovely stay. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making my mother’s birthday special.

The estate itself is beautiful and peaceful, with spacious rooms, amazing service, and a really family-friendly atmosphere. Loved that there were so many activities within the property wine tasting, spa, cycling, heated pool etc.
The wine tasting experience was definitely one of the highlights. Great selection of wines and very approachable. The spa was also excellent and super tranquil, perfect way to unwind after a day around Stellenbosch.
Food-wise, Veld Restaurant was quite average. The food didn’t stand out as much as the rest of the overall Spier experience.
Overall still a highly recommended stay if you want a luxury wine farm experience in Stellenbosch 🍇

IInvitéPros: First of all the service I got from the receptionist was really good, she had someone carry my bags to the room and the location of the hotel is close to the airport which is very convenient for traveling after your stay.
Cons: The room had a strong smell of paint, it was so bad I couldn't even breathe as all the windows were closed upon my arrival.
The pillow cases in the bedroom didn't look clean to me I used my clothes to lay my face on because it was just nasty.
The shower is not convenient to use, it's too small and you cannot move the shower head to a desired position.
There was no fan or airconditioner in the bedroom, it was really hot.
The furniture is outdated, some couches with holes in them it's a mess
Overall, I will not sleep here ever again! The money charged is clearly just for being close to the airport because it is too much for that room.

I was booked into one of the Villa Suites, and it was an experience in itself. The suite was beautifully appointed, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, blending elegance with comfort in a way that felt both indulgent and homely. Every detail from the plush furnishings to the serene garden views contributed to a sense of effortless relaxation. It truly felt like a private sanctuary.
The service throughout my stay was impeccable. Staff members were warm, attentive, and intuitive without ever being intrusive. Whether it was assistance with luggage, dining recommendations, or simply a friendly check‑in to ensure everything was perfect, the team consistently delivered with professionalism and charm.
The hotel grounds are equally impressive. Lush, tranquil, and meticulously maintained, they create a peaceful escape that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city. It’s the ideal setting for unwinding, whether by the pool, in the spa, or simply strolling through the gardens.
Dining at Fairlawns was another highlight. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a menu that balances creativity and comfort. Every meal felt like a treat.
Overall, Fairlawns Boutique Hotel offers an exceptional blend of luxury, privacy, and heartfelt hospitality. My stay in the Villa Suite was unforgettable, and I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone seeking a refined and restorative escape in Johannesburg.

Le Premier Hotel est pratique pour les personnes qui sont souvent en retard pour presque tout car il est assez proche de l'aéroport avec des services de navette aéroport gratuits toutes les 30 minutes.
Tous les membres du personnel que j'ai rencontrés m'ont reçu chaleureusement et ont également veillé à ce que mon séjour soit agréable.
J'ai vraiment apprécié la salade grecque fraîche et savoureuse que j'ai commandée via le service en chambre. Ils l’ont préparé après que je l’ai commandé, la livraison n’a donc pas été rapide. J'ai passé un agréable séjour et je suis arrivé à l'heure pour mon vol.

IInvitéMon partenaire et moi avons passé un séjour formidable au Catalyst. Le personnel était agréable, en particulier notre Busisiwe préféré. Le petit-déjeuner et les autres repas étaient délicieux. L'emplacement était très central et il y avait des navettes pour le centre commercial de Sandton et retour.
Nous reviendrons sans hésiter lors de notre prochain séjour à Johannesburg.
