The staff were very kind and we were impressed by their sincere attitude toward the guests. We booked the Gyegok trekking through Trip.com, but as foreigners, we had trouble communicating with the trekking company. The manager helped us, and we had a wonderful time that will remain a pleasant memory. If we have the chance to come to Changbai Mountain again, we would definitely choose this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We are truly grateful for the warm hearts of all the staff. Also, grilling skewers and enjoying a glass of soju in the hotel parking lot was an unforgettable delight.

Le petit déjeuner buffet a été très agréable, le restaurant sur place a servi un menu divers et chaque repas était délicieux. En général, je suis très impressionnée. Je choisirai certainement de rester ici à ma prochaine visite.

One whiff and I nearly cancelled the stay on the spot. Room Rescue Cue Mr Hong Dejian—calm, English-speaking, and clutching the keys to redemption. He patiently showed me alternative rooms until we found one that didn’t smell like a poker night. Had I left, I would’ve missed what came next. Comfort Food = Home Dinner delivered a miracle: stewed chicken with potatoes and mushrooms. One bite and—boom—mummy’s cooking. After days on the road, I finally found food in China that tasted like home. Tail wagging resumed. Care Beyond the Call Mr Hong returned with a portable heater, pointed out city landmarks, and even taught me how to take a non-reflective photo (yes, this dog learns fast). His easy friendliness softened the edges of dirty window panes and mostly Mandarin-only staff. I even showed him the ink-black towel after wiping the window—evidence, not barking. Menu Meltdown & A Win At the restaurant, I was handed a Chinese-only menu after saying I don’t speak Mandarin. I hit the roof. To their credit, reception listened: I received a call from the lady boss, and the issue was acknowledged. Then a hero appeared—the restaurant lady, who patiently translated dish names so I could choose lunch and dinner without guesswork. Gold bone earned. City Interlude: Jilin Catholic Church Between meals and meetings, I visited Jilin Catholic Church (吉林耶稣圣心堂)—a quiet pause from hotel hiccups. The church offered a moment of stillness, a reminder that even on a bumpy stay, the city holds pockets of grace. Logistics That Worked Back at the desk, the reception lady manager efficiently arranged my transport to Wusong Island—quick, competent, and reassuring. Breakfast & The Fine Print Breakfast surprised me in the best way: healthy, balanced, a thoughtful mix of local and Western dishes. One final bone to chew—early booking didn’t pay off as prices dropped later. A truly Winning Hotel would honour the lower rate at check-in. Verdict Despite communication bumps, this is a solid winter hideout: good Songhua River views, comforting food, and fast service when it counts. The hotel bed is spacious 1.3M and comfortable enough for one adults and one children. The breakfast selection is wide, the hotel staff very helpful to arrange transport to the nearby restaurant. Just the hotel has some distance to the main ski resort. Ski facility and onsen facility has to take a connecting small bus which can be very crowded and need to stand.

The first visit to this hotel was full of warmth and overwhelming hospitality. I still can't forget how they welcomed us the moment we arrived at the hotel. Firstly, we were overwhelmed by the staff during our arrival. They all came out to greet us and help with our luggages and belongings all the way in to the hotel. Secondly, with the seamless check in to our rooms and fruit platter, every gesture was well thought by the hosts. Thirdly, they prepared a sumptuous dinner for us. Simple local delicacies yet tasted really good. The number of ginsengs in the appetiser surprised us! From the portion to the presentation of food, we can taste the difference and feel they put in their heart to make everything better. Lady boss was generous to treat us a bottle of local rice wine during our mealtime. Tasted really good and special! We like that drink!! Additionally, we were asked for timing to eat breakfast and they would prepare that before our specific timing. They even asked us for our preference and customise breakfast for us. Breakfast was served and tasted as good as dinner! Freshly prepared and done meticulously by the kitchen. Lastly, lady boss gave us an impromptu complimentary tea session after dinner. A unique and interesting experience indeed. Never seen and tried it before. It's a heating device with net on it, put the heating pot for stirring and cooking our own tea from scratch. Meanwhile, we have the finger snacks and nuts to roast on the heating rack (as shown in the pictures) while waiting for our tea. In between, they would guide us how to prepare the tea. It was a chill and relaxing session. We enjoyed chit chatting while roasting our tea in the cafe. It felt so warmth especially when it was snowing heavily outside. The vibes were superb! I had many enquiries and the lady at the counter helped me out a lot without hesitation. She tried all her means to help us. The lady at the hot spring was very friendly and provide good services too! The staff from the hot spring, restaurant, concierge, driver and even lady boss all were very attentive, friendly and nice at any point of time during our stay. Pretty impressive indeed. Giving all credits to every single staff. Amazing team! They gave us more than we could ever imagined from services to food to hospitality. Thank you for giving us an amazing and memorable stay! Overall it was a great and enjoyable stay at this hotel. Definitely recommend everyone to visit them and feel their positive energy. Certainly can't wait for our next visit to Chang Bai Shan again!!!

I'm a british traveller with a Chinese wife. I'm mostly located in China and I speak the language. Hunchun is near to Russia and most of the guests were Russian. Some of the staff can speak a few words of Russian but not much. And no English! The Hotel itself is modern, clean and very technically equipped. The toilet seat is heated, and it flushes itself. The shower took a bit of working out, but once I had mastered it, it was possibly the best shower I'd had in years. The shower is partitioned from the rest of the toilet, which isn't always the case in China. There's an AI person who greets you in Chinese when you enter, but we couldn't work out what the purpose of this was. It didn't understand English and my wife couldn't get a lot of sense out of it in Chinese. But everything else worked, including the curtains which opened and closed remotely. The TV was large and of an excellent quality. The bed was firm, but not hard like some Chinese beds can be, and we slept very comfortably. The breakfast was OK, but nothing special. My wife and I are diabetic, so we avoid sweet things. Although there was plenty of meat, vegetables and eggs to keep us going for the day, there was only sweetened coffee, sweetened milk tea and I think sweetened soy milk, in the drinks machine. We managed to get plain hot water out of the machine, but there was only paper cups provided, which was a disappointment considering the price we'd paid and the excellent standard of everything else. I would suggest a coffee machine and milk available at breakfast, and maybe a hot water urn and some tea bags. And some proper cups! I think a place of such good quality deserves a bit more of a variety of food. It was OK, but not great. Disappointing. For people on a low budget (like we were) one should bear in mind that the location isn't very central and it's a bus ride and a 25 minute walk, from the high speed rail station. Taxis are not very expensive but we don't have much money so we got local buses which are not very frequent. So I consider the location to be the most disappointing aspect of this hotel. Everything else was either fine, or excellent. We would definitely consider going there again in the future. It was also the only hotel that has allowed us the late checkout which I've been promised by Trip.com. Thank you!

L'hôtel est situé dans un petit village qui est récemment ouvert. Les chambres sont complètes et les restaurants et autres F&B sont disponibles dans le village. Seul le malheur est que les voitures ne sont pas autorisées dans le village, nous devons aller à la porte pour demander un voyage.

Impression: The hotel is so cute and really kids oriented. Its newly built and opened, hence not all taxi driver knew about the location. In Trip.com - English, the name is Sunggari Club Hotel. But if you want to ask taxi driver or bus, you should mention Sungouli instead and search in Amap using chinese name given in Trip.com. Location: West slope of Changbaishan. If the weather permitted, you can see the peak of Changbaishan from far away but very nice view. It was more happening at night around Swissotel area and more shops and restaurant around that area. Hotspring located in Clubmed building not far ifrom Swissotel and Burger King. The shuttle bus will only drop and pickup at Swissotel and not Clubmed, so you have to walk back to Swissotel once you finished with the hotspring. Pros: 1. Kids friendly - decorations, play area, room. All so cute and pretty. 2. The room package inclusive of the entrance vouchers and activities - skiing, deer place, hot spring, special event, breakfast. So it is really worth the money. 3. All the staffs are so friendly and helpful - even tried their best to communicate with us in English. 4. There is laundry room with washing machine and dryer and the detergents to wash and dry your clothes. Cons: 1. The hotel supposed to be kids friendly, but smoking is allowed inside the hotel. We've requested non-smoking room and we've got it. but the problem is, it is not non-smoking floor. Shockingly, there is smoking area in the hallway of the rooms besides the elevator in every level. So the smell will travel to the entire hallway and into the room. Since it was winter and heavy snow, we can't really open the window to let the smell get off. It was so suffocating. Really frustrated in regards of this as I strongly suggest for the hotel to consider implement a strict rules not allowed smoking in the premise and have a dedicated smoking area far from the room and eating place to promote safe place for the kids. 2. Even the hotel considered new, the toilet bowl still old-school, not automated as most of the new airbnb/homestay that we went. So for Malaysian, no bidet is the big concern 😅.

I recently stayed at Hanting Hotel during my trip to [insert city]. While the hotel provided me with a comfortable stay, there were a few aspects that left something to be desired. My room at Hanting Hotel was cozy and adequately furnished. The bed was comfortable, offering a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring. However, I did notice that the room lacked proper sound insulation, as I could hear noises from the hallway and neighboring rooms. This impacted my sleep quality slightly. The cleanliness of the room was generally satisfactory, although there were a few areas that could have been better maintained. The bathroom, while functional, could benefit from some upgrades to enhance the overall experience. In terms of amenities, Hanting Hotel provided basic facilities such as Wi-Fi, which was reliable and allowed me to stay connected throughout my stay. However, I found the lack of a mini-fridge or a coffee/tea maker in the room to be a drawback, as it limited my convenience and comfort. One aspect that stood out during my stay was the hotel's breakfast. The buffet offered a variety of dishes, catering to both local and international palates. The food was delicious, fresh, and served with a friendly smile from the staff. Overall, Hanting Hotel offered a decent stay with its convenient location, friendly staff, and tasty breakfast. However, improvements in sound insulation, room cleanliness, and inclusion of additional room amenities would greatly enhance the overall experience.
