The LaLit Grand Palace Srinagar

From the moment we arrived, LaLit Grand Palace Srinagar unfolded like a story woven with history, elegance, and an enduring sense of hospitality. The palace, a vision in white, stands against the stunning backdrop of the Himalayas, its reflection shimmering in the still waters of Dal Lake. Once the summer residence of Maharaja Pratap Singh witnessed eras of grandeur and change, its century-old chinar trees bore silent testimony to time. Here, Mahatma Gandhi met Maharaja Hari Singh, and generations of visitors have walked its halls, absorbing the richness of its past. Yet history alone does not define this place. It is in the everyday moments—the effortless grace of its service, the quiet attentiveness of its staff—that the palace truly comes alive. At check-in, Wajahat, Tasir, Shallu, Junaid, Danesh, Risalat, Rehaan, Syed, Umar, and Shabior welcomed us with a warmth that was as much about precision as care. Every detail was handled with quiet efficiency, allowing us to simply arrive, exhale, and step into another world. The grand corridors, adorned with Kashmiri carpets and intricate woodwork, whispered of a bygone era, yet the service was attuned to the present—gracious, intuitive, and deeply personal. Mornings in the palace began with the scent of saffron-infused kahwa and the crisp mountain air filtering through lace-curtained windows. On one such morning, when I felt unwell in the lobby, a perceptive manager noticed before I spoke. Within minutes, a steaming bowl of Khitchree arrived, and the chef himself emerged, not to make a grand gesture but simply to ask if I was all right. It was a quiet yet profound moment, an embodiment of true Kashmiri hospitality. Throughout our stay, kindness revealed itself in countless small ways. In the restaurant, Danesh guided my friend through local wines with genuine patience, ensuring my tea was brewed to perfection—just the way I liked it. Room service arrived with an unspoken understanding of what we needed before we even asked; Ankush always anticipated the moment. At the spa, Christiana’s care was almost maternal, arranging fresh towels, ensuring the sauna was just the right temperature, and offering a massage that melted away the weariness of travel. The hairdresser’s skill left Teresa and me feeling revived, polished, and, somehow, at home. Duty Manager Umar moved through the palace like a quiet guardian, always present, never intrusive. When Teresa and I fell ill one evening, the night staff, knowing just what was needed, delivered medicine and a warm blanket to my room without a word, only a reassuring smile. In these moments, the palace was not just a place of luxury but a place of care—a sanctuary where one could be vulnerable and still, utterly at ease. Beyond its regal interiors, LaLit Grand Palace is rooted in the land it belongs to. The charm of Kashmir is reflected not only in its architecture but in the people who bring it to life—like Imtiyaz, whose fabric and carpet shop became more than j

Food Quality not good , House keeping Staff Behaviour with customers not good then directly asking for money Some other payments were pending due to which they were not allowing us to check out. While check in they would told us that your payment pending but they not inform to us and last moment when we have catch the train then are telling us about the payment pending but which we had already paid in advance. This type of service not acceptable. There is not proper dinning hall for breakfast /lunch/ dinner. There is place to sit next to room for breakfast /lunch/ dinner due to which there is lots of noise pollution no relaxation. Hotel is bit far away from highway we need to walk 5 mins to 10 mins walking to be done for reaching hotel. Better to check other hotels near to main road not visit this hotel.

- The hotel location is good. The only challenge is the continuous railway announcements coming to you. But that is bearable. - The front desk is really helpful. I was tired from a trip and they helped me check in a couple of hours before the scheduled check-in time seeing my tiredness. - Good ambience overall with a separate dining area and secured lifts. - The toilet (room# 201) was dirty - specifically the WC. - Bathroom exhaust fan is too noisy. - No wardrobes. - Delayed service - asked for shower caps as caps are available on de***d only. It took almost an hour to deliver after repetitive calls. - They need to consider providing an electric water kettle in the room seriously. The common area service for tea/coffee and hot water is good. But does not provide the right level of service and comfort. - If someone wants to drink multiple glasses of warm water, the person needs to go and sit there. - Morning tea, you need to go outside the room I think considering the cost of an electric kettle, it could be more economical and ***ageable.

The location is walking distance to lal chowk. It's a quiet road, fairly clean. Decor is nice, room has heater and electric blanket and fan. Warm water seems to be available mornings but mostly not on evenings possibly because of the freezing temperatures this time of year. For me personally it was a problem as i normally take evening showers as well. Every room had a window afaik. Breakfast was highly enjoyable and recommended. Staff are polite and helped me get auto as well on my departure. Overall the experience was pleasant enough and if you only normally take one bath shower a day it would be ok

Mr Sarkar very helpful and good host - hospitality is 200%. He suggested we visit Zero point bridge and even kind enough to give us a ride there in his own car. He showed us the way to walk back to the home stay. He also kept an eye out for us and was especially nice when he found and picked us up when we were on our way back from Zero bridge. Breakfast was good, delicious and fast. Hospitality was genuine and second to none. I would highly  recommend this place to anyone on a budget

It’s indeed the best hotel near Pahalgam - located far away from the hustle & bustle of Pahalgam market area at the Lidder River rafting point. The best part of this hotel is the quality of the service by all the staff members. The food is good & the front office staff are super efficient. The rooms are spacious with good heating arrangement.
