We stayed here for our wedding night, and while parts of the property are well thought out, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations for the price and rating. Positives first: the hotel is beautiful and tastefully designed. The spa is a highlight—well kept and run by a warm, professional attendant. The saltwater pool is nicely maintained and a thoughtful touch. However, service overall lacked consistency and polish. A number of small missteps throughout our stay accumulated into an experience that didn’t meet 5-star standards. At the pool—during a heatwave—we couldn't get service for nearly 2 hours. No one was staffing the bar, though it was stocked and locked with a tick chain—odd, especially since there’s an honesty bar inside. I tried calling reception, bar, room service—no one picked up. It felt like I was filling in for missing staff. Eventually someone came and we could finally order drinks. At breakfast, I had a frustrating exchange. I asked for sliced bread or a knife to slice the rolls, and the server replied defensively, saying I should slice the bread at my table and return to toast it—but I only had a butter knife… Breakfast overall didn’t meet expectations. Ingredients were good, but offerings were limited. One morning, there were no eggs at all on the buffet. Hot items were available on request (for sustainability), but with just one staff member, service was slow and inaccurate. Waiting 15 min for coffee or wrong egg orders isn’t aligned with luxury standards. By contrast, breakfast at Solar de Vilar Seco—where we stayed just before—was luxurious and abundant, with premium cheeses, international options, and stunning variety. Chef Gilbert deserves praise. Our room was fine by 5-star basics but felt small and underwhelming for the price and the setting (a former royal manor). Again comparing with Solar de Vilar Seco: rooms there were bigger, airier, and restored with original 18th-century details, creating a far more luxurious feel. There were also some odd quirks. Guests have to ring a bell and explain themselves multiple times—even to re-enter from the garden or spa. I get the intent is security, but the execution felt intrusive and didn’t match the relaxed vibe expected in a place like this. The service tone, while not rude, felt more guarded than warm. Staff rarely smiled, and basic interactions—from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping—lacked the ease and attentiveness that define luxury hospitality. Service should anticipate needs, not react to them—and here it often felt reactive and flat. Finally, a personal note: we mentioned this was our wedding night on our booking, a detail many hotels mark with a small gesture. I’ve had handwritten notes, a treat, a spa perk, even upgrades—all of which make a guest feel seen. In this case, nothing. I mentioned it again at check-in—it was brushed off. This isn’t about freebies; it’s about feeling that the hotel values your special moment. That was completely missing.

C'est ma première fois que je révise parce que je dois trouver un endroit pour se décevoir que je suis déçu de l'hôtel. Pour être juste, la propriété est particulièrement impressionnante dans la piscine, mais la chambre .....La chambre .....It's speechless. Quel génie de conception. Les chambres sont comme des antiquités. Les sèche-cheveux, le fer et le plancher sont probablement depuis le jour où l'hôtel a été construit. Les manches de la porte de la salle de bain sont en métal rustique avec des bords raseurs qui me coupent la main. Je suis pressé Ne pas déranger mais il ne montre pas si c'est arrivé ou non, ce qui a conduit à la garde d'équipe entrée dans ma chambre à 9 heures le matin suivant. Le restaurant est bon et romantique, mais le service ..... Après avoir attendu 10 minutes pour être assis, il n'y a pas de problème, attendu une heure pour arriver la nourriture n'est pas aussi un problème, mais la nourriture est venue froide après que nous avons attendu une heure! L'expérience était si mauvaise que nous avons décidé de passer le dîner le lendemain. Les chambres sont très confortables et sont très confortables. La piscine était vraiment jolie. Si vous restez là, essayez d'oublier la chambre et juste rester à la piscine. La chambre est comme un séjour 3-4 star à la meilleure Je voyage beaucoup comme vous le voyez à partir de mon diamant plus statut mais je ne suis pas un chanteur.

Foi uma agradável experiência. Adoramos o hotel , não é novo, mas as instalações são boas e a zona da piscina é muito agradável e a vista simplesmente deslumbrante .  O staff é super cordial e prestável e atencioso . Tínhamos pequeno-almoço incluído e é bastante  bom Acabamos por jantar os dias de estadia, e foi uma agradável experiência.  Vale a pena conhecer e voltar .

As vistas do hotel são incríveis. Está situado numa zona calma, com ótimas vistas mas fica longe de tudo. Limpeza deixa muito a desejar. Lençóis estavam sujos com cabelos. Pequeno almoço igualmente. Para um hotel de 4 estrelas deveria ter mais variedade e pão fresco, porque o pão não parecia ser fresco. Deveriam fazer reposição da comida, uma vez que, já não havia frutas e outras coisas. O preço é excessivo no bar da piscina. De resto, foi tudo impecável. Hotel muito bonito

Le travail abondant a entraîné le bruit dans l'hôtel. Chaque fois que nous avons besoin d'une réception, nous avons dû attendre le retour du personnel. En plus, le restaurant a été excellent.

Nice staff, introduce the facilities in the hotel, gave you a welcoming drink. Large room with minimum items. Need to prepare your own tissue paper

Optimo staff no Hotel. Hotel precisa de alguma decoração paredes de quartos e corredores excepto no hall entrada. Hotel também precisa ter chinelos, roupoes e artigos de higiene.Artigos essenciais num hotel desta qualidade. Um hotel com história e de qualidade de luxo.Bem localizado. Um hotel a repetir

Spa muito bom. Quartos bem decorados, sóbrios com camas muito confortáveis. Pequeno almoço excelente e atendimento personalizado, cuidadoso e ótimo

Segunda vez aqui, é cada vez que volto está melhor. Apartamentos top, com todo o conforto. Piscina interior com água quente top, como nunca vi. Pequeno almoço fabuloso. A voltar sempre que possa. Recomendo
