We went to Hotel Terrado in Antofagasta because it was recommended by some friends. Considering the price, the service is subpar. The location has a perfect view to the sea and it’s central enough to move around the city without any problems. However, the hotel service needs improvement if they want to attract more people traveling for leisure. After three days in the hotel where we kept our beds made and our room clean, it was an ordeal to get a maid to change our sheets and clean our room. I asked three times and finally someone went around 7 pm to do the room. That particular day we were mostly out of the room while sightseeing and visiting some friends. Every time we returned to the hotel to change clothes or to use the bathroom, we realized the room was still in disarray. The receptionist Valentina was particularly concerned and helpful. Finally we got a maid to come, I felt bad for her because it was so late in the day, she probably wanted to go home. The breakfast buffet was excellent and also the waiting staff ( very kind and helpful). The restaurant of the hotel has good quality of food and drinks. However, the host of the restaurant was enthralled with her phone and when I asked why nobody was taking my order she said “we open at 1 pm” ( it was 1:07 pm). She freaked out when she realized it was actually time to start working. Some of the staff didn’t realize we were lodging in the hotel and rudely told us we didn’t have a reservation to use a table at dinner time (We’ve been in the hotel for three days by then). It’s ok not to know we were guests, it’s not ok the way they ask, in front of everyone, in an annoyed tone, and loudly. The manager of the hotel compensated our consume of a few drinks and cake the day of the cleaning the room mishap. We were grateful. One supervisor came to us to tell us about the free food/drinks and he was nice, until he started a weird diatribe about him being Mapuche instead of Chilean ( legally he is also Chilean in spite of being Mapuche…) Then he informed us ( mostly me, because my husband doesn’t speak Spanish) that Chileans are a horrible group of mixed races including “Spaniards, Arabs and Jews”. I was so shocked I just told him I also have Mapuche blood plus many other nationalities ( guess what… including Spaniard, Arab and Jewish). Everybody is entitled to their opinions and views, but when working in the hospitality industry, one need to be careful not to offend the guests. By the way, I’m Chilean with American citizenship. For once I was glad my husband didn’t understand Spanish. The next day a friend of mine came to visit with me and we went to the hotel restaurant to have a cup of coffee and water. All the days I’ve been there I didn’t charge anything to my room, because I prefer to pay as I go and keep all the receipts. The day of arrival, besides paying our stay in full, we paid a warranty of around $ 350 (approximately) to cover any charges or incidentals. I was sharing time with my

My wife was nervous about staying here - a high-rise building right on the seafront, in an area well-known for earthquakes (there had been a 5.6 magnitude quake the week before we arrived!) Terrado Suites does its best to distract you from such thoughts with its luxury. The large open lobby leads onto the bar and restaurant, with a large waterside terrace, where you can watch the pelicans come and go in the bay, as you dine. The food (breakfast and dinner) was very good, and the service friendly and professional. Our room (on the 15th floor - another cause for my wife's nervousness!) was large and comfortable, with an excellent bed. There was a large french window, with small balcony, giving stunning views over the Pacific (I think all rooms face the sea). As long as the earth doesn't move for you - literally - a real slice of affordable luxury.

Nice facility with comfortable, well appointed rooms and a stunning ocean view. The restaurant and bar are nice with good wine and food options. Walking distance so the mall, restaurants and coffee shops. It was a bit noisy in my room on a Thursday night as their was a party at the neighbors prong property until 2am.

I love this place even though it has quirks but tonight was inexcusable. I go down for dinner, 5ish, and sit where a retired Naval Officer would normally sit. Nearest the ocean. The waitress tells me I can’t sit there. I’m the only one here. Dinner guests are 2 hours away. You force me to move because you’re to stupid to realize that I’ll be gone an hour before the crowd shows up. Fark you. I left.

El restaurante muy bueno. El desayuno muy poco variado. Ubicación buena. Las instalaciones regulares. La comunicación sobre uso de instalaciones y aseo es malísima, tanto así que ensombrece toda la experiencia. No vale lo que cobran, eso es seguro.

Las habitaciones amplias y cómodas, bien mantenidas, limpieza OK! Hermosa vista! El desayuno buffet muy completo y rico, me gustó mucho que había café de cápsulas y también café de grano para servir directo. Pero si me pareció deficiente que de los 3 ascensores que hay, funcionaban 2 y justo a la hora peak del desayuno solo se encontraba disponible 1. Por tanto había que esperar mucho para que llegara, y luego iba a parando en casi todos los pisos. Esto llegaba a tomar a lo menos 15 minutos de tiempo. Otro detalle que se podría mejorar es que el personal de la recepción podría ser un poco más amable. Respecto a este último punto, éramos 6 pasajeros, que reservamos 3 habitaciones y nos pasaron solo 5 tarjetas para ingreso a estás. No lograron solucionar este problema y tampoco ofrecieron disculpas. Además de no dar la explicación real del impedimento. Estuvimos en el piso 16, que es el último de habitaciones, ya que el 17 es un salón de eventos. En este hubo una fiesta hasta las 1:00 am la noche del sábado con música a alto volumen que se escucha en todo el piso 16. No te avisan de esta situación tampoco. Importante: No disponen de planchas de ropa. Sólo cuentan con servicio de planchado express cobrado. En verdad podría haber puesto nota 3, pero las cosas buenas igual superan a las malas. Pero tienen que mejorar.

Estuvimos hospedados desde el 17 al 19 de febrero. El hotel cuenta con muy pocos estacionamientos, por lo que “acomodan” autos sobre la rampa de acceso para personas con movilidad reducida. Al indicarle al guardia a cargo, de forma indolente y totalmente falto de empatía, me indica que me calle y que yo debía preguntarle antes de hablar. Finalmente tienen otra rampa (que no está señalizada y que para acceder, se debe pasar entre vehículos, cosa no fácil con una silla de ruedas). El hotel cuenta con solo 1 habitación preparada para personas con movilidad reducida (información entregada en recepción). El resto es lo siguiente: Habitación: en general cómodas y con buena vista, aunque la limpieza es paupérrima (encontramos pelos en todo el baño, aparentemente púbicos). Cuidado con el agua caliente de la ducha, las temperaturas fluctúan todo el rato y terminas quemándote. Restaurante: si bien la comida es bastante buena, los tiempos de atención son terribles. El primer día se demoraron alrededor de 45 minutos solo en llevar a la mesa los líquidos. En total, tuvimos que esperar 1 hora y media para poder comer. El segundo día fueron tiempos menores, pero aún así demasiado lento. Limpieza en áreas comunes: no muy buena en realidad, pasillos siempre con suciedad en el piso. Desayuno: bueno y rico.

Uno de los más bajos hoteles 5 estrellas que he estado, pieza con filtración de agua en la ducha, frigobar solo con coca cola y agua y piden 150.000 de garantía y un restaurant sin muchos platos disponibles durante la estadía al igual que piscos tanto chileno como peruanos y un sin número de detalles de infraestructura en mal estado.
