Avis : Radisson Hotel, Astana

Overall it’s a 7/10 First, we arrived to the hotel early and the receptionist told us that all the rooms are fully booked so she couldn’t make early check-in and we would understand. But then she came back to us after 5mins and said if we agreed to pay 50% extra retail price for the room, she would tell her colleague to prepare a room for us. So, the point is the hotel is fully booked OR there are rooms extra? Secondly, we had an odd feeling at the hotel, we stayed 2 nights and the staff barely greeted the guests. They were chatting amongst themselves. Third, we went out for the day from 9AM and came back to take a nap and around 4PM someone finally came to do room service. Overall, the room was spacious for 3 and the view from our room is very nice but we will not come back to Radisson in Astana.

Overall I had a disappointing experience, especially at this price level. The staff at the desk that I met were very helpful and it worth pointing that out, they were great and helped me with some important logistic stuff. The problems with the hotel though are many 1) breakfast very ‘flat’ ie food not feel fresh and coffee super bland, 2) room keys have problems - one has to try a number of times to open and sometimes need to get technician from downstairs to help, 3) pool and gym is a private gym next door - facilities are very good but a bit of a walk and does not have intimacy of hotel - so pros and cons there 4) small thing, the security guy at the door looks downright unfriendly and not help in the least bit with luggage. Overall the place feels like it has aged, it not invested in and not managed so well, but good individual staff. For this price , there are much better options.

la chambreétzit glaciale à l'arrivée et a plusieurs heures à se récauffer. La réception prétendait que l'hotel était complet et je n'ai pas pu changer de chambre. Pourtant la salle de petit déjeuner était vide. La salle de gym et la piscine sont dans une salle de sport publique

This is not five stars, long past its prime. Shabby and the staff are indifferent. Hairs in the bathroom. Aircond not working as it should. No help with luggage at all. Limited access to the gym (old). The only positive thing is breakfast. Never again.

Friendly and helpfull staff at check in, comfortable rooms. The food at the Lobby bar was delicious and so was the breakfast. Would definitly come back and recommend the hotel. Unfortunately did not have time to try the pool / gym facilities.

The hotel is clean and modern and the location is stellar. The walking path along the Ishim River is gorgeous, and there is a market and bank a stone's throw from the hotel. The best part of this hotel is the staff, not all of whom speak English, but Google Translate is your friend here. and I found everyone friendly. I foolishly left my hotel key in my room twice and was locked out each time. The staff immediately helped, quickly and with no disdain. Also, I had asked about postcards and one desk staff member offered to search her own personal collection for me. I was quite touched when minutes later she rang from the front desk to tell me she'd found some within the hotel, which she gave to me free. And let add that there is a great free hotel breakfast buffet. If you're as busy as I've been on this trip, that breakfast can last you to dinner, as it has for me on several occasions. I've had no time to use the fitness centre or cigar bar, but I'm sure they're as nice as everything else here. Highly recommended.

3 adult men were suggested to sleep in one King bed!!! Wow! We were really shocked how unfriendly the check in progress can be!!! The manager at the reception told us that they are lack of twin rooms. We were suggested to use one King bed for three of us!!!))) Can you really imagine this?!))) By the way, we are are 3 adult men, we are very friendly but we’re not eager to sleep all together. I’d like to remind that we payed the room for 3 adults and requested a twin bed and an extra bed.
