We booked this because of the positive reviews, however this unfortunately was not our experience. We initially drove past the front of the guest house as there are no clear signs to say what it is. The road it is on is very run down, lots of student digs but unkempt, there was piles of rubbish strewn over the roads. Despite being advertised as off road parking this was pretty much impossible, the street is chocker with cars, we had to park away from the accommodation and walk with suitcases and bags back to the house. It wasnt a good first impression, we hoped things would get better once we got inside. Despite saying we would arrive at 2pm the room wasnt ready and we had to wait outside for around 40 mins before we could get in. We were in room 6 which was on the 3rd floor and way too small for 2 adults for 3 nights. It was nothing like the picture of room 5 seen on the advertisement which looks quite roomy. No window, nor was there was anywhere to hang or put anything, no hooks or shelves, even in the bathroom so everything stayed in the suitcase or on the floor. It was really cramped. Despite that it was clean and the shower was lovely and hot and the bed was comfortable. There was a fridge and tea and coffee facilities. If you come out of the accommodation and turn right instead of left it leads you to a pub just a 5 minute walk away and a couple of lovely restaurants. Its also only a 20-30 minute walk into the city centre. We passed a few Travelodge type places in the city centre which were similarly priced to Wellesley. I don't like giving money to the big boys and always prefer to spend locally. In my opinion Wellesley would have to smarten up the exterior and be a little bit more realistic on size in the photos. Shelves and hooks would take the pressure off the space too
