As we know it’s name suggests itself the taj resort , Kids really enjoy a lots & made fun out it , foods was delicious .

Отель известный, немного уже не новый но территория и в целом атмосфера нормальные. Соотношение цена качество разумное. Отличный ресторан с видом на океан и очень странный ресторан где проходит завтрак ужин (отзывы на картах Google) это подтверждают. Пляж немного грязный, но это проблема не отеля а в целом местного населения.

De mon arrivée à mon départ, tout s'est très bien passé. J'ai retrouvé avec plaisir le personnel que je connaissais déjà. L'accueil a été parfait, ma chambre 519 était très bien située avec une magnifique vue sur les jardins et la mer. La chambre est nettoyée le matin et il a un deuxième service en soirée afin de préparer la chambre pour la nuit. Gayan, mon room boy, toujours souriant et plein d'attentions fait un excellent travail. Les petits déjeuners et les dîners au restaurant The Palms étaient très bons, même si j'ai trouvé que les plats occidentaux du buffet du soir étaient souvent les mêmes. Pour changer, ne pas hésiter à demander la carte dont les plats sont également très bons. J'ai aussi apprécié que le responsable du restaurant vienne me voir régulièrement pour s'assurer que tout se passait bien. Comme d'habitude, la piscine était très propre et le personnel très serviable. Tout au long de mon séjour, le service a été parfait et je reviendrai certainement.

Hotel et chambres rénovés de bonne qualité. L’équipe est fantastique et très serviable et accueillante spécialement Saman du house keeping et Siri et Manoj du restaurant, toujours très attentionnés et chaleureux. L’endroit est magnifique et les plages superbes surtout fin novembre avec très peu de monde!

Très bel endroit . Le personnel est très accueillant et au petit soin tout au long du séjour. Le seul petit bémol est la restauration. Un choix un peu réduit mais néanmoins très bon. Cela est certainement dû à la crise que traverse ce pays actuellement

HOTEL SURANNE Tout l 'hotel mérite d'être refait , les chambres sont d'une autre génération ainsi que les salles de bain . Il serait nécessaire qu'il y ait au moins une deuxième piscine par rapport au nombre de chambres! dommage également que la plage ne soit pas aménagée . Le personnel est néanmoins bienveillant .

Excellent nouveau séjour à l'hôtel TAJ BENTOTA. L'accueil était chaleureux. Ma chambre au 6ème étage était confortable et propre. J'ai un peu regretté de ne pas avoir expérimenté l'une des chambres rénovées. Le restaurant The Palms était très bien et la nourriture variée et excellente au petit-déjeuner et au diner (buffet). J'ai beaucoup apprécié de retrouver le personnel de mes séjours précédents et particulièrement les trois dames qui sont à l'accueil du restaurant et Dinesh au bar de la piscine. Le manager du restaurant est également très présent, vient à la rencontre des clients et s'assure de leur satisfaction. Je reviendrai avec beaucoup de plaisir.

Certainement pas un 5 étoiles. Le cadre est pourtant très beau et avec un beau potentiel; belle plage relativement protégée des grosses vagues, belle piscine en surplomb, jardin luxuriant mais les détails de finition et le service en général vous rappellent que ce n’est pas un 5 étoiles tel que vous l’imagineriez: chambre vieillotte, parties communes mal entretenues, saleté ambiante, service minimum ( pas de chaises longues à la plage, réception inefficace et peu souriante, personnel de piscine peu avenant…). Dommage

This place is Devine. We stayed for 11 nights March 2025, we absolutely loved our stay. The rooms are great and the bed was the most comfortable bed we ever slept in. What makes this place is the staff, they cannot do enough for you. Our room boy Gayan was incredible and created amazing towel designs every day ensuring our room was spotless. We paid for B&B basis, and again the service at breakfast was amazing, special mention to Sam who served us and couldn’t have been kinder. The food at breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the fresh fruits were superb. We had a couple of evening meals at the restaurant by the pool which were also delicious. The location to the beach and some local restaurants is superb. The beach is incredible with some lovely locals offering sunbeds at really good prices. If you head down the stairs next to the shack bar, you will find Jimi who rents sunbeds and will really look after you and is fair and helpful when it comes to day trips etc. He watched our bags when we went into the sea and watched us in the sea as the rips and currents can be strong. The people of Sri Lanka really make the place as they cannot do enough for you and I highly recommend this place - we loved our stay. The one slight negative was that sunbeds around the pool can be difficult to get with people getting up really early and placing towels/books on them to save them, then not turning up til midday! However, get down to the beach as it’s amazing and the sea is like a warm bath with really shallow clear waters.

From the moment we arrived at the Taj Bentota, we knew we were in for a special stay. A warm, genuine greeting welcomed us after a long journey, and check-in was seamless and stress-free – just what we needed! Our room was spotless, and we were really impressed by the housekeeping team – always efficient, attentive, and discreet. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which made such a difference after a day in the Sri Lankan sun. We stayed on a half-board basis, and honestly, the food was exceptional. It’s the best we’ve ever had at this level of board. Breakfasts and suppers were simply fantastic – a beautiful spread of authentic Sri Lankan curries alongside some familiar Western favourites. As a vegetarian, I was especially delighted – for the first time, I felt truly spoilt for choice. A special shoutout to Ranjith in the restaurant and Kannagara at the pool (apologies if we’ve misspelt either name). Both were absolutely wonderful – nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel genuinely at home with their warmth and hospitality. Outside the hotel entrance, but within the grounds, there’s a line of tuk-tuks ready to whisk you away for a bit of local exploring. Though not directly employed by the hotel, they are allowed up the driveway, which makes things very convenient. We highly recommend Kamal, who was not only delightful company but also a fountain of local knowledge – truly like having a personal guide. The only slight downside was the price of drinks at the hotel bar, which were just over twice the price of those in local spots. That said, it wasn’t unexpected and certainly didn’t stop us enjoying a few cocktails during our stay. We left with full hearts and happy memories, and we already know this won’t be our last visit to Taj Bentota. Thank you for a wonderful, wonderful stay.

First Day at the Hotel (Out of a Total of 15 Days) Upon arrival, we were able to check in early at 12 PM instead of the standard 3 PM, which was a pleasant surprise. Rooms and Facilities The room is very nice and recently renovated. It’s located on the ground floor, which is fine—this is what we paid for, including a garden view. Unfortunately, there's no direct access from the terrace to the garden or beach, which is a pity. The hotel itself looks good, though parts of the garden seem a bit neglected. Beach and Pool There’s a nice, clean beach in front of the hotel. However, there are no hotel sunbeds on the beach—only in the garden, and even there, not enough. The same goes for the pool area, where sun umbrellas are limited. Dining – All Inclusive? Not Really. We paid extra for the all-inclusive option, which was significantly more expensive than half or full board. Despite checking in at 12 PM, we didn’t receive our wristbands until 3 PM—which is quite unusual. Typically, it's the other way around. Meals are only available buffet-style in the main restaurant for breakfast and lunch. It’s a shame, as the à la carte menu looks quite appealing. Dinner is possible at two other à la carte restaurants, but without options like king prawns or lobster, which is disappointing. Surprisingly, there’s only one bar in the hotel, located at the reception. There’s no actual pool bar—only a waiter who brings drinks from the restaurant. After waiting 1.5 hours for a menu (and asking three times), we received it, but no one ever came back to take our order. I genuinely don’t understand how this system works. What the hotel calls a “pool bar” simply doesn’t exist. The Shack, another venue, is only open for dinner, so it doesn’t offer any daytime seating either. During the day, there are no snacks available under the all-inclusive package. We normally skip lunch and prefer to grab a light snack later on, but don’t expect that here. The drink selection is also extremely limited. Despite a huge number of cocktails listed on the menu—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic—only four non-alcoholic cocktails are included in the all-inclusive plan. Really? At a 5-star hotel? No milkshakes, no smoothies... This is worse than a €300-per-week hotel in Egypt. Why not just set a price limit per drink within the all-inclusive package? The current system makes no sense. Final Thoughts The hotel is in a stunning location with breathtaking surroundings. However, the all-inclusive experience is comparable to a 3-star hotel at best. The number of places where you can actually use the all-inclusive benefits is practically zero. We came here to relax after a demanding work season and chose this hotel carefully, but unfortunately, it’s far below our expectations. Next time, we’ll definitely return to Anantara or Heritance.

Stayed for 4 nights in the Deluxe Garden View Room. The highlight for us was the beach access from our room which was a 2 min walk. The room overall was nice clean and fairly modern, although it was not very large. It was inline with what you can expect from a Taj property, and we were satisfied. The staff was outstanding, a special thanks to Chef Jasvir Singh who took care of us during our stay and offered to make special meals for our young son as well. The food was great, with plenty of vegetarian options for us. Besides the beach there are several other amenities including a pool, game room, garden etc and activities for kids as well. There is also a shack on the beach for water sports activities. Overall a fantastic experience, would definitely recommend for a relaxing family get away.

Outstanding service and warmth from the team at Taj Bentota, Sri Lanka. Every member was accommodating and provided a great service from the staff at the front desk, room service, restaurant team and pool staff. Taj Bentota were great with little surprises for my wife 's 40th birthday and very friendly with my young son, who already misses Sri Lanka after one day of being home. In particular, chefs Dalip and Jaswir provided delicious food to our needs and sent us some exciting new dishes to try. A great team in the restaurant. The sea front rooms have a outstanding location overlooking the beach and beautiful sunset. Overall, definitely the hotel to book for future visits and we'd recommend to others visiting Bentota and Sri Lanka.
