IInvitéService at the hotel was excellent, staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had a snack (Fried chicken wing starter) which was also very good. I didnt use the spa so cannot comment. The location was excellent 9 min walk from the train station. I would definitely stay again if I returned to Chester.
IInvitéLovely hotel and great location however the room was disappointing for the price, one of the armchairs was badly damaged and the other brown stains on the material. Sections of wallpaper were peeling off which gave it a very tired appearance.
The iron board was also broke and we had to prop it up on a chair. The room we booked looked nothing like the images on the advertisement and I had to check with reception we had the correct room.
For £330 a night I don’t feel we had a premium room, the staff however were lovely and very welcoming.
IInvitéWelcoming staff, comfortable bed and spacious room, excellent leisure and spa facilities including a relaxation suite which was true to its word, plus a jacuzzi cave, like something from Alice in Wonderland, topped with the hottest steam room ive been in for years. Pool long but jot that wide for serious swimmers.
IInvitéChecking in at the main Oddfellows hotel was smooth but it would have helped to have the exact address of the apartment in advance, so we could park more easily. There is one parking space at the apartment but it is a tight entrance!
Apartment 5 was upstairs and very spacious. The lounge/kitchen/diner was well set up and the tea and coffee available was very welcome. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large, comfy and clean (but could do with a few hooks for towels or coats). There is even a laundry room. Decof is quirky and the location is great - just off the main streets. Fabulous place to stay.
IInvitéA place with old world charm and in a great location. The double bed we had was on the small size, so we wished we'd selected a twin room. Breakfast was good, though water should be provided without having to ask. The coffee was a disappointing lukewarm warm filter type, despite there being a decent machine in view behind the bar.
IInvitéLovely hotel with nice big clean rooms. A few issues though - you really need a car to get here as it's a bit far out from the city centre. In my room there was a room service menu and a number to dial for room service, but no phone. The food and drink was ok. During my stay there was only 1 person on the bar and service was a little slow. I ordered a soft drink and it was a bit flat, definitely not worth the £4 they charged for it. Because of staff shortages the dining room was filled with tables that needed to be cleaned. Breakfast was also a bit of a disaster. They charge £15 for it but definitely not worth it. There's a self serve hot buffet which was fine, nothing exceptional. There was no coffee available, just tea bags and hot water. Also there were no plates available at the continental station - really missing attention to detail when there were quite a few staff members present.
IInvitéFriendly reception staff. Great location. Room good size and modern bathroom but not the cleanest, hair on dress cushions, hair in shower tray, lots of dust in room. Expected a bit better from here.
IInvitéAs a big fan of Premier Inns I felt this one wasn't up to their usual standard. Beds always very comfortable but the bedding wasnt adequate, slightly ill-fitting. Also the room was cold and the air con set to high did not work. The TV also did not work in our room, aerial connection was cited aa the reason on-screen.
On a lesser and more personal note, i like the scrambled eggs option in the morning but only fried eggs were offered at breakfast.
