Burdett House Bed & Breakfast

The Victorian style house is elegant, well maintained and tastefully decorated. The room was comfortable and the bed was extremely comfortable. A large bathroom appointed in keeping with the style of the rest of the house was bright and clean. If you are not satisfied with the in-room TV and cable, or just wake earlier than your partner and need a room to read, watch TV or work on your laptop, a separate shared space with boardgames and another TV is available. The coffee and snack area is well stocked and very welcome if you have late night munchies or need those two or three cups of linkage coffee in the morning before breakfast, which is very convenient. High speed internet is available throughout. I have to mention the breakfasts that was truly excellent. Ashley and David are fantastic hosts and if you are lucky you may get to meet Hudson their puppy. I cannot recommend this enough. A true find for the area.

An absolute must stay! Ashley was very responsive and accommodating for our spur of the moment stay. House was beautiful, and the breakfast was amazing. She had great recommendations for where to eat and what to do in the area. We would definitely recommend staying here.

My second time staying at Burdett House while driving at Watkins Glen International. Great experience - everything perfectly-maintained, well-appointed, and very comfortable. Hosts are very helpful and friendly. Strongly recommended

Burdett House B&B is just perfect! It's not on the lakes, but a very close drive to them. David and Ashley are the consummate hosts.....carrying our luggage up the stairs, providing ice for our beverages, the most delicious and FRESH breakfasts ever (the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had! ) We stayed with 2 other couples, and each room was so nice. Ours was the Knickerbocker. The only negative about it was that the room faces the main street and the traffic noise is pretty heavy on weekdays. Saturday and Sunday were fine, though. The rooms are appointed very well; even a "vanity" table in our room. We didn't use the balcony, but it is nice. The "gathering" room is perfect for couples to share in the evening for a nightcap or aperitif. Hudson, their do, is a delight too! The porch is another great place to gather.... Stay here!! You will NOT be disappointed!!

LOVE, LOVE , LOVE this B&B!!! This is our 3rd time here and it was AMAZING just like the first time. We brought friends to share this special home! The house is well appointed and so inviting! The rooms are so welcoming. Breakfasts are scrumptious. Ashley and David are incredible hosts. Ashley is so helpful with the restaurants, wineries, distilleries,etc. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Burdett House. The location is perfect too! So close to the wineries, Watkin’s Glen State park, restaurants , etc. you cannot go wrong ! Look no further! Looking forward to coming back!

Ashley and Dave are very thoughtful hosts from the moment of booking until check out! They were communicative throughout, provided helpful recommendations, and went above and beyond to created a warm and inviting experience. We loved the historic details of our room, and found the linens, bed, and furniture to be very comfortable. Breakfast was also very extensive and well-made. We had a lovely experience here and hope to return!

We loved our stay with Ashley and David! We hit the road from Cleveland early for the holiday weekend and got lunch near Lake Canandaigua, then finished the rest of the drive to Burdett. The drive was simple and scenic. We walked in and David greeted us right away. He gave us a brief tour of the common areas of the house and showed us how to order our breakfast entree for the next morning. We stayed in the Empire room. It was perfect for us with plenty of space and gorgeous furnishings. We loved all the personal touches, like the branded hangers, notepads and hand soap. We requested the s’mores and camp fire when we booked and I couldn’t recommend it enough! They had a gorgeous fire set up, just for the two of us, with a carafe of delicious local wine and a baggie of classic s’mores fixings. The grounds are so large and beautiful— it’s also a blast to watch their dog, Hudson, play in the back yard. I loved that there was a guest pantry with water, tea, coffee and snacks. It was so nice to have a cup of coffee to start the day while I waited for breakfast to begin. And the breakfast—-absolutely scrumptious! They had hot entrees plus a breakfast bar with banana bread, yogurt and fresh fruit. The location was fantastic— a quick, scenic drive to Watkins Glen or further up the lake to vineyards and restaurants. On our short weekend trip, we did a boat tour on the True Love, horseback riding at Painted Bar Stables, and a wine tasting at Hillick & Hobbs. We also stopped at Stonecat Cafe our first night and LOVED IT! Such a fun, romantic spot for a few nights away. We’re hoping to make this an annual tradition!

Having read many of the reviews of the Burdett House before we booked our stay, our expectations were quite high. Well, Dave and Ashley managed to exceed those expectations. My wife and I have stayed at many B&Bs in our 24 years of marriage, but I don’t think we have stayed in one whose owners were as warm, welcoming and attentive as Ashley and Dave. While we had let them know in advance, we would be a late arrival, when we informed them our arrival would be later than expected there was no problem. They promptly reached out to us to make sure our travels were going ok, let us know our room was ready, where it was located and provided instructions for placing our breakfast order for the morning. The house is beautiful, well maintained and nicely decorated. The porch on the side of the house is a wonderful spot for relaxing with a book and glass of wine or even taking a nap. We stayed in the Knickerbocker room. It is very clean, spacious, warm and boasts a very comfortable bed. The shower has great water pressure, to sooth those aching muscles after a day of hiking, and there is a small balcony on which you can enjoy coffee in the morning, from the well-stocked snack area a few steps outside the room. At breakfast we finally got to meet Ashley, Dave and Hudson, a loveable golden doodle. They are truly incredible hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. In addition to making sure your day got off to a great start with a delicious meal, Dave and Ashley were sure to check in on your plans for the day so they could offer suggestions or tidbits of information to make it better. Each breakfast was wonderful, starting with the fresh fruit and pastries to a deliciously prepared entrée, such as sourdough pancakes and a breakfast sandwich with the most scrumptious sauteed onions. Just wait until you try the potatoes. Finally, the location is great. It is in a quiet area and only a short drive to all the area attractions. We highly recommend the Burdett House for your stay in the Watkins Glen area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Burdett House Bed & Breakfast! This is the perfect location for exploring the Lake Seneca area, from Watkin's Glen to all the wineries. The house is lovely with great attention to detail, the breakfast was excellent - delicious and fresh, and our hosts were warm and friendly while respecting our space. The shower was great, the wifi works, the bed is comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend it.
