Warwick Lodge

Spotless, welcoming, perfectly adequate. Conveniently located. Other guests were overheard at breakfast quietly approving. OK, you'll look in vain for a jacuzzi, a helipad and tennis courts here but I honestly don't know how, or indeed why, Caron does it for the cost but I'm so glad both that she does and that I found Warwick Lodge (by chance) on a brief business visit. I expect to be back for similar reasons and if so this will be my first choice.

I had a nice, brief stay here while hiking Hadrian's Wall in September 2023. The host, Caron, was very welcoming and accommodating, allowing me and another hiker to check in early when we both happened to arrive at the same time, around an hour earlier than the official check-in time. The Lodge is located in a quiet, residential location, but within quick and easy access to all the Carlisle has to offer, as well as a brief walk off Hadrian's Wall Path. It was the perfect spot to spend the night after logging in the miles from Bowness-on-Solway. If I were to come back to Carlisle for another visit, I would certainly stay here again!

From our arrival to our departure, we had a wonderful relaxing three night stay at the Warwick Lodge. We were made to feel so welcome by the owner that we felt at home straight away. Such a lovely lady! Our room was really clean and spacious with a lovely bay window, I loved the decor! The bed was comfy and there was always hot water for a shower. Great choice of viewing on the television for when it’s really wet outside. I binged watched a series between going out for dinner x 3 and walking the coastline! And the breakfast…… always perfectly cooked and delicious! I’ve never been to Carlisle before, but I would happily come back again and again! It’s a very friendly place to visit

A perfect place to stay for my work visit to Carlisle. The welcome from the owner was warm and friendly and I felt immediately comfortable and relaxed there. The bed was comfortable and shower hot and really poweful. Everywhere was very clean. The guest house is in a nice area and just 5-10 minutes walk into town. I'd definitely hope to book here again if I return to the area.

Very dated, dinghy accommodations, and be prepared to carry your luggage upstairs to the third floor. My main issue, however, is that nobody was at the locked hotel to greet me when I arrived at 1:30 pm. I went for lunch and returned at 3:00 and still nobody was there. When I was finally able to contact the innkeeper, she said she wouldn’t be there until 4:00 pm, so I had to sit in her driveway and wait for another hour, after five hours of hiking. This was an unacceptable and frustrating beginning to my visit and she was unapologetic about it. Find a nicer and more welcoming place to stay.

I stayed at Warwick Lodge for 3 nights, and it was excellent , I had a single room ,which was small but more than adequate location is perfect , an easy walk to town, and numerous restaurants , Carol the host is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is delicious. A great place to start if you are walking Hadrians Wall, I stayed in Carlisle, caught the bus to Bowness and walked back to Carlisle , I highly recommend this as an excellent guest house

Nice place to start our hike along Hadrians wall. Our room was on the third floor with no noise from other rooms guests. We did have some light traffic noise at night and with it being a little warm we had to decide between road noise or air flow. The beds, blankets, pillows etc were comfy. The shower was small but had great pressure and plenty of hot water for our two showers back to back. The bathroom itself was pretty decent in size. The room was decent sized…. Two real chairs to sit in and a desk with a third chair. Housekeeping was excellent. Owner was friendly & helpful. Honestly she was my favorite host on our entire trip. Breakfast was huge and very tasty. The lunches she packed for our hike were perfect and also huge! Others guests were pleasant - enjoyed conversations with other hikers. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend to others. * didn’t take any room pix… we got in at midnight first night and then our room was messy where I didn’t want to take pix *

A fabulous stay at this great guest house. We'll situated for the town centre a short stroll away. Clean, comfy, super powerful shower and a great breakfast along with a warm welcome from the owner. Nothing to fault, and would definitely stay again.

3 of us stayed 2 nights whilst walking Hadrian's Wall. Perfect place, immaculately clean, large room, well provisioned. Breakfast superb. Caron fantastic host and the B&B is beautifully furnished and decorated. I cannot recommend this place enough
