Avis : Lavande Hotel (Changchun Railway Station Square Branch)

This hotel is in a good location. Very close to train station. Close to bus station and subway station

The hotel is only a 3-minute walk from Changchun Railway Station. It is very convenient if arriving at that station. The locality has plenty of convenience shops and some restaurants (local food). Check in was efficient, though, like virtually all hotels outside Beijing and Shanghai, only Chinese is spoken. Staff have to use a translation app to handle English. Not sure what they do if some other language. The room was ready and clean on arrival at 2pm. It was reasonably spacious. It did not have a desk, but a 1-metre diameter round table, which could serve as a desk. However, because it was not placed against a wall, there were no power points at the table. There were sufficient power points around the room, however, just not at the table. Lighting was good and temperature control was precise. Unfortunately there was no mini fridge. The bed was a bit too firm for me. There was a proper luggage rack, which was good. The bathroom was reasonably spacious too. All fixtures looked very new. Hot water came through quickly. Water pressure was good, but drainage in the shower might need some maintenance. Almost all food at breakfast were Chinese items. Like many hotels outside of Beijing and Shanghai they don't have much more than sliced bread, butter, jam and yogurt, in terms of western items. Even teaspoons, forks and knives were unavailable. Imagine spreading butter on your sliced bread with chopsticks. The Chinese food dishes, on the other hand, changed daily. Fruit was limited to just one kind (melon) that didn't change daily. The simple fact that nearly 100% of guests are domestic tourists, not foreign tourists, explains the above. Management needs to train their dining room staff to speak softly. It was striking how often staff shouted across the room to other staff and even customers,, creating a noisy atmosphere.

Convenient, fuss free and comfortable hotel near the left side of the South Exit opposite the Changchun Railway Station. Breakfast is available in the hotel and there are plenty of food choices around the hotel. There is a gym and laundry room which makes it a great base to access the Northeast part of China such as Changbaishan UNESCO site, Harbin, Dandong, Shenyang, Jilinand Yanji. Despite being in a busy location, the hotel tries to create a relaxing environment. Room even has background/ambient music and Bluetooth for you to hook up your favourite music. The beds come with memory pillow and a soft pillow option and the bed is not to the extent of a rock hard Asian type bed.

This hotel is on of the cleanest hotel in China for our trip. We trust it now and will look for it for consistent standard.

The room is actually great except for the smoke smell - we requested for non smoking room and even got a change of room but the new room still had a lingering smoky smell. Since indoor smoking is allowed at this property, the third hand smoke was inevitable. But breakfast was great - wide variety

Central, close to metro, close to the imperial palaces. The dining options nearby close early, but found a great dumpling place nearby. The only thing I was missing was coffee.

Easy access from train station. Just need to be aware where to exit to take a shorter route. Plenty of restaurants around. It was cold and didn't realized that toilet seat has no warmer. the one we stayed at baicheng city has though. Bed is hard but comfy for us.

Front line service is very helpful to assist me in the booking of my train. The overall room cleanliness us very good. A very well maintained hotel with reasonable price. Less than 5 mins walk from ChangChun Railway Station.

Room is generally clean and big enough for 2 pax. Only problem was that we requested for high floor with non smoking room and far from lift, however end up was allocated a room that smelt of cigarette smoke and nearest room to the lift. Not sure if the receptionist saw the request. Sound proofing is not very good as we can hear clearly noises from along the corridor and lift lobby. Otherwise location is convenient and near to the railway station/bus interchange.

Hotel location is so called near to train station but it is not so "near" if traveller plan to walk with big bags because there is no lift access at the exit that is walkable to the hotel when exit from train station. Suggest traveller to check the exit properly so that you don't want too many "extra". Room was ok, though it was a corner room, and my booking though mentioned is 8th to 9th floor, I received a 7th floor room instead. Surrounding the hotel is few wholesale building of fashion, nails, etc. which is good for shopping.

good size room. The breakfast has wide selection. walking distance to railway station makes it easier to other cities in the north.

The hotel is nicely located near the train station and clean. There are also many eateries around it. The front desk receptionist is very kind and helpful. We called at 9.30 pm to check whether there were any rooms available and she managed to accommodate our request. We checked in at 11.30 pm. The next morning, we left early to visit some places, but my child realised she had lost her mobile phone in the lobby. They managed to find it, and we returned to collect it. They also provide free use of laundry machine. The only issue is noise with doors closing at level 5 cause people are using the laundry room. Overall, it is a perfect place for its price and services.
