We booked a 2 double bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the lounge, what we arrived to was 1 double bed and a sofa in the space between the bedroom and bathroom which was opposite the entrance to the apartment. The person who met us on arrival was very abrupt, and did not introduce himself. When he showed us the accommodation we said that we had booked 2 double bedrooms and this was only 1 bedroom, he said that a 2 double bedroom apartment did not exist and that we were being argumentative. I showed him the booking at which point he called the owner. The owner said that there was a 2 double room apartment with sofa bed but it was for 5 people, and we were only 2 people. I spoke to the owner and said we booked and paid for a 2 double room apartment with a sofa bed irrespective of how many guests. We felt intimidated and bullied by the person who met us at the accommodation, he was dismissive and aggressive, rather than trying to find a solution to the issue he was just saying/shouting that we were wrong and that the room we were shown was all they had. After 6 hours we found availability somewhere else. Even if we had stayed the room was not of an acceptable standard. The bed had 2 pillows, the air conditioner did not work, there was no coffee pods or water, the bathroom was tired and needed updating, the bedroom faced directly onto the busy street and was very noisy. This establishment is only suitable for a 1 night stay. I have stayed in better quality and less expensive hotels in Manhattan.
