Die Lage direkt an der Rhein-Promenade war toll, alles zu Fuß schnell erreichbar, aber: - vorherige telefonische Absprache bzgl. eines 3. Bettes war sehr schwierig, da Deutsch nicht seine Muttersprache war, aber es hat geklappt - wir haben ein Zimmer direkt in einem der Dachgiebel bekommen, obwohl das Hotel nicht voll besetzt war und es 30 Grad hatte! Es war unglaublich heiß, da es keine Klimaanlage, sondern nur einen kleinen Ventilator gab, und durch das geöffnete Fenster kam kaum frische Luft, da die Gerüche von der Küche und den rauchenden Restaurantgästen direkt hoch ins Zimmer zog, also kein Schlaf vor 1 Uhr möglich - Außerdem gab es kein Fliegengitter vor dem Fenster, also alle möglichen Tiere wie Käfer, Spinnen, Mücken usw. im Zimmer - Entsprechend schmutzig das Zimmer mit Spinnen und Spinnweben, aber auch der Teppich war ekelig - die Matratzen waren furchtbar, in der Mitte höher als an den Seiten, man konnte nur in der Mitte liegen, sonst rollte man raus - im Bad hatten die Fugen der gesamten Wand schwarzen Schimmel, der Brausekopf paßte nicht in die Halterung und mußte per Hand gehalten werden Nur die Wand mit dem Fernseher und der Fernseher selbst wurden mal erneuert, aber sonst nicht zu empfehlen.

We stayed here when visiting the Christmas Market in Cologne. If your looking for fancy then this isn't for you, but it is a nice hotel and very close to the markets, the train station, and for walks along the Rhine. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel but if you want to eat here you can and the food and drinks are good i had no complaints. would i stay again, probably yes due to the price and location, it was clean staff were nice food was good. just remember if you want fancy or 4 or 5 stars this isn't for you, if you want location and decent price and not really bothered about where you stay then this is a great place to stay!

Great location by the river, the room was clean, loads of bars and restaurants near by and only a 12 minute walk to the chocolate museum. Staff were lovely, funny and friendly. Ardeshir was particularly lovely and had great vibes.

Went here for dinner one night as a family, staff started off very friendly and good food. We asked for two sides which were €4 but it was one side between two. Before paying for the meal the staff member insisted on a tip which we gave but without knowing they automatically add a tip to the bill on top of the tip you give. When we received our bill we were overcharged €44 for 6 drinks we didn’t order, when we told the staff member he insisted twice, “are we sure we didn’t get those drinks ?” and when we received the money back it wasn’t the correct amount.

We both stayed here for 3 nights and spent an evening drinking in the restaurant and had a dessert. As a hotel, the location is perfect! A perfect distance between the old town and Cathedral etc. Very close to lots of attractions! The room was comfortable and perfect for resting our heads. We had a very good experience in the bar. Our waiter was great! (He told us that he lived in Liverpool at one point). Very good service!

Stayed here with my wife and son whilst we had a festive trip to Cologne. The hotel is in perfect spot, being located just between the Rhein, the dom and the old town. We found it ideal as it was just a few minutes walk to get to the two big Christmas markets there, plus the fabulous Peters Brauhaus is on the same street. We found the staff at the hotel friendly and welcoming, they helped upon our early arrival and let us leave our cases there as we had a late flight home. We only used the attached restaurant a couple of times but again, the staff there were friendly and attentive. They made a fabulous effort with our three year old boy. The facilities were good, the triple room we stayed in was comfortable and we didn’t have any issues during our stay.

Worst experience ever. Bad service and the servants made a lot of mistakes which where subsequently billed to the client. When the wrong drinks were delivered to the table, the server said they were on the house, because of our suspicions that they would not be, we didn’t touch them. Our suspicions were correct because the server said he could not deduct the untouched drinks from the bill. This was like a running joke within the restaurant because other tables had the same issues and we didn’t really see any happy clients. I would strongly recommend to go to one of the various other restaurants/bars in the area. Sorry to rant on the page here (it’s my fitst time) but I could not speak to the manager in the restaurant to let out all my frustrations regarding the service of his employees.
