Great beds, shower, wi-fi, and parking. All we usually look for in a motel. However, by booking direct we also appreciated some extras in addition to the great price which was well below the various search engine prices. These included discount at the adjacent hotel buffet, and a complimentary drink each. Well worth it. We found the buffet to be excellent and the staff even better. Well done to them, including the reception staff on arrival. Admittedly the facility is getting a tad old and in need of some refurbishment, but that is fairly reflected in the price and underway. Overall, Nightcap at Gateway Corio was hard to fault and we would stay there again.

Easy check in, room was lovely and clean, I judged it a bit from the outside but was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door :) Amazing bed and pillows best sleep I’ve had in months! Food was great and bargain prices delivered to the room hot and fresh. Staff were very friendly and helpful will stay again. Having parking right outside our room was perfect with our family and all our luggage.

I have been twice in the last month overall the food is good what you would expect from a buffet..both times we arrived before 1pm paid nearly $40 each to find the prawn tray empty we stayed for 1 hour and it was not refilled. I think when you advertise seafood you should have some there...

Last time we visited a few months ago it was amazing, this time we left literally with a bad taste in our mouth and feeling ripped off. Curried sausages, bland pasta dishes steamed and fried rice, noodles, hospital quality vegetables, 2 pizzas, meatballs, chicken stay drumettes , tasteless salads and basic desert bar is what you get to pick from. The typical roast meat was the star of the show. If you are going for the ‘fresh’ seafood go by yourself some, make a platter and you’ll still have change in your pocket and have a much more enjoyable experience.

Great Value Excellent Food We went out for dinner with family while we were visiting in Geelong. The range of food was fantastic, soups, pasta, roasts, Asian, seafood, fresh fruits, and a variety of desserts to choose from. Great value for ‘all you can eat’ Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning thank you.

Don’t be fooled by the slick room photos, they are the only thing that’s seen any upgrades since the 70s. This is an old motel that has had some room refurbishment done and not much else. The exterior is your typical 70s trucker motel and you’ll be woken by the trucks on the highway. The main building does not have a bar area really, pokies and a TAB as well as the buffet area. The buffet is $35 per person and the food is comparable to what you’d find in a Westfield food court, definitely not worth the price. The staff were either friendly and new at the job or impolite and scowling. Definitely avoid especially for the price of the room.

Sorry but not happy with the price for what was served up. They made us wait and wait in between meals, then when they served our hot smoked ham and turkey with vegetables, it was cold including the vegetables. The placement of the food was just thrown onto the plate, with no pride at all. and after 2 hours we had to ask when the deserts were going to be served. When they arrived you know the mini Christmas cake you get for $2 in the supermarkets, theirs were smaller and had no taste of the brandy custard, more like watered down custard. I looked around and not many happy faces guess that said it all. I am so shocked shaking my head that I have to write such an appalling review but if I don't express the let down they won't fix it. Not the Christmas lunch I wanted for $110. Oh, and if you thought you could get what was advertised, nope they changed the deserts, so not right to offer and then change the menu after we paid ( false advertising)!
