Kirkdale Hotel

The hotel was at a good location. Staff was very helpful and professional and provided excellent service.

Good and comfy

全体的に設備は古めです。隅々まで清掃されてはいませんし故障している場所も色々あります。しかし、逆にそれがいいという人もいるかもしれないので全てが悪いとは言いきれません。 近くに歴史がありそうな教会があるので見に行く価値はあります。朝食は普通なのかな？

衞生條件很差，馬桶都無法正常使用

Hi there Myself and 4 friends stayed at this hotel for 1 night on Saturday July 9th 2023, on arrival we parked in the car park, on looking at the building it looked very run down, looked more like a derelict building than a hotel that was in use, horror movie came to mind. On entering the hotel the smell hit us, cigarette smell, and the in ground smell you get from a Wetherspoons floor, the man on reception was not very inviting, we got our keys to our rooms 2 double rooms and a single, the smell was getting worse as we all went up the stairs, my room was on the 2nd floor, attic room, I opened the door and the smell chocked me, hitting the back of my throat, it was like I could taste it, me and my friend were chocking with the smell I went to open the window it was a barn door window, if I was to keep the window open fully and was getting up from bed in the night I would smack my face in it as it was hanging over the bed, the room was dirty, the bedside table and chest of drawers were falling apart, it was though they were 100 years old, the coat hangers were sticky, but the worst was the carpet, it was blue but there were so many stains on it you couldn’t distinguish what colour it was and there was stuff stuck to it, the bathroom, well it was a cupboard just had a toilet and dirty shower and dirty tiles and on the floor there was broken tiles that were covered with a floor towel, the door was a sliding door that you had to lift up to shut it to make it slide, sleeping in that room was a horror story, neither me or my friend got much sleep, the smell that was so bad even made our clothes smell like a dirty full up ashtray. A animal pen at the zoo would of been cleaner. The morning after the night before breakfast! Can’t really go wrong with cereal and toast, oh yes you can, small cereal boxes some out of date, and the toast he brought 5 rounds of toast out for us 5 and expected us all to share one plate had to ask for side plates to which then we got dinner plates, the tea was ok but the coffee was cold???? How can you get this wrong if the tea was hot why was the coffee cold it was all instant and in coffee pots which we all got at the same time. The mats on the table were sticky and dirty as well, we met a couple at breakfast who had a room from hell same as us, the people working there couldn’t speak much English and didn’t come across friendly, so if we moaned the day before and changed all 3 rooms we would of got the same and as we were only there for the night if we decided to go somewhere else we wouldn’t have got in anywhere as so busy in London, but if you ever book a hotel on booking .com please check the reviews on TripAdvisor as you get a true run down of the place you are staying, we didn’t do that as it said on booking .com that they had recommended it, so you take that as being a good hotel, avoid like the plague people. On arrival to the hotel it was clear that an Eastern European gang was in residence and were haning around outside it appears that the hotel was being used as a *******, the guy on. Reception seemed to not give a damn. About it. it’s fair to say I decided not to stay and promptly left.

Good location close to shops and South Croydon high street. Got virtually no sleep due to noise (like a rough hostel) and cigarettes smell and dirt everywhere... complained to ******* and got partial refund. Absolute ripoff and surprised this place has not been closed down for health and safety issues. This place is really bad and no money seems to be spent on anything, it's all about zero costs! Police cars frequently going by at night and there is a basic partial curtain to cover some of the window in the bedroom , but you still wake up with flashing blue lights in the room. Toilet seat loose, bathroom shelf broken. Sticky stained carpet that smelt in room. Would not put bag down on floor kept it on table to avoid contamination. Felt like" Fawlty towers" and "citizen Khan" all in one.

From all the hotel stays, Kirkdale is one that you will remember unlike the modern ones. There were good and bad points about this place. Let's start with the good points first in the sense that it was memorable because it is a converted Victorian House so everything is nice and nostalgic. When you enter the hotel, there is this old library smell about it and the living room and furniture transports you to the past and I love that. There is free wifi so you won't get disconnected from the world. The room isn't bad and very comforting as it is more like a bedroom than a hotel room if you miss those Victorian houses. The only complaint was the sticky worn out carpets, dirty mugs and cigarette smells as there are people smoking inside as well as outside which makes it way in the room.

This was one of our worst hotel stays in well over a decade. The room carpet was worn, stained and littered with debris. The bedside table drawer had a previous tenant's underwear and vape in it (pic attached). The wardrobe only had 1 hangar and the shelf was coated with a layer of dust plus an open packet of sugar. Mugs for drinks were filthy. Bathroom sink had nose pickings on it. Shower was filthy and wasn't working properly. The worst issue was the constant smell of cigarette smoke as there were lots of smokers downstairs and smoke would make its way into the room.
