Rockliffe Hall Hotel Golf & Spa

Beautiful property, wonderful staff, very generous size rooms, great food, and a very festive atmosphere. The staff here are very highly trained and it shows. From check in with Shona, who was excellent, to the food & beverage staff. This property is beautifully maintained, well run, and a delight to stay at. We stayed at Tiplady Lodge, and this was a good decision for us. Loved the view of the old hall from our room. Very generous proportions in the room. The garden is maintained to perfection. Just a lovely property, especially at Christmas time. We loved our stay here, and would definitely stay again. Definitely visit the Bay horse Inn for dinner if you are staying here as that was excellent also.

From the moment me and my husband walked in the door to the moment we left everything was 100% perfect. Every staff member was brilliant always a smile on their faces and every need was tended to. The room was beyond expectation, the food was absolutely delicious. The only fault I have was my stay wasn’t longer. Thank you so much!!

I was bought a £500 voucher for dinner- bed and breakfast and use of Spa facilities. I called this morning to book a room as I seen they had availability. They said some one call me back as I had a voucher for dinner bed and breakfast in the lovely orangery. No one called me back very disappointed as this is meant to be five stars ! I called them and they now tell me the orangery is closed next week ! I said can we eat in the nice other taupley they stated no only clubhouse … if I wanted to eat in a clubhouse my husband would not of paid £500 for a one night stay !! No one seems to care on the telephone ! I am now waiting for a manager to call me let’s see if they can call me tomorrow. My advice is never buy a voucher for special occasions ie 50th birthdays as you get 3 star customer service !

Just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay. From the moment we arrived on Friday morning to the time we left today every single member of the staff has gone out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the food is fabulous and the staff professional, yet friendly and welcoming

Celebrated a big birthday here with my daughter...the staff make such a difference & were excellent....as was the hotel itself - lovely food.... definitely recommend although the Spa was very busy on the day but don't let that put you off...it's so good

went to go to hotel for drink and food , was very rudely told to go somewhere else by a strange looking guy on a golf cart with a walkie talkie, i was showing my daughters how nice a pkace it is, i will never go back again take my money elsewhere do not go there you have been warned

Gabbies ‘personality’ was mint 5 star would recommend. Absolutely amazing service, very perky and happy, made my day more than once over. I would one hundred percent go again!!!!!!! The wine and dining was superb! However would personally change the uniform. Thank you Gabbie!!

Overall, we had a nice time and if I could leave 3.5/5* I would have done but I’ve gone for the lower number because I wanted to draw attention to things that I felt just let hotel down that I think should be on the money when staying in a 5*: - No “niceties” or little luxuries waiting for you in the room or after night turn down. When we’ve stayed before we’ve had homemade treats like gins, biscuits, face masks and pillow mist - we were staying for my husbands birthday and though I did mention that when asked in my pre-check in phone call, nothing whatsoever was done - not even a token card on behalf of the hotel which is usually just a standard just for staying with a 5* establishment - Rooms were lovely and clearly newly refurbished but I had some minor bug bears in terms of cleanliness again because of the 5* standards - both days I found stick residue on the tea cups, kettle with a fair amount of limescale and tea pot with a small black ring of mould inside. My husband also snagged his sock on part of the wooden floor where it had come a little loose. It also really annoyed me that the room was never vacuumed during our stay - I understand not changing bedding but all services should be wiped down and carpet vacuumed, which it never was. Overall, we were really unimpressed with the Orangery, both for breakfast and our evening meal - the portion sizes are tiny and the quality of the food again doesn’t hit 5* standards. I don’t want this to sound an overwhelmingly negative review because we did have a good time and I thought the hotel grounds, the golf course, my spa treatment etc were lovely but I think this is really a 4* hotel in disguise

Went for Sunday lunch to the Clubhouse which was very good food was excellent with largest portion of meat I've had anywhere the vegetable's were very good 2 of had parfait to start the other had the Prawn cocktail overall the lunch was very good our only complaint was that the plates were cold so consequently by the end of the meal the food was cold
