Daylesford Holiday Park

Cabin was filthy!! Floor was dirty, rubbish and food (chocolate and pretzels) under couch. Food under couch cushions, cutlery and rubbish under beds. Microwave covered in food. Kitchen cupboards were covered in what looked like spilled coffee. A bag of potatoes was still in cupboard from last guests. It smelt of urine. Not happy at all. After notifying staff of how dirty it was and we were not happy as we have an anaphylactic to dairy child we were offered a free icecream. Mop in cabin was filthy. We had to go buy a new one and cleaning products before taking our children inside. I spent an hour cleaning the mess!! Cabin number 15!

Very Disappointed. Very poor quality cabin (stayed in Elms 8). Not well cleaned, extremely uncomfortable couch, non existent gas cooking connections to gas stove and stove top, ridiculously unfriendly cutlery. Bed was comfortable but was the only saving grace of the apar**ent. Pretty run down and not the place I would return to in a hurry.

The staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Assisting me reversing my van, all things regarding my booking, 4 casual staff members all keeping the facility tip top!! The camp kitchen was fabulous and I used it for all cooking and washing up while watching the tv!! Ideally located to walk to town, lakes and other highlights. Rhododendron in bloom everywhere! Short drives in all directions takes you to waterfalls, wineries, historic places and buildings. Aaaaaand do spoilt with a visit from a coffee van and live entertainment on the premises Sunday afternoon !😊

Booked a cabin to suit 5x people, thankfully 2 people were not able to attend. $250/night..... BBQ area only one bbq working, no bin, BBQs filthy. Message in cabin to say unless cabin is left spotless, cleaning charges will apply. Main bedroom bed had hair and eyelashes in the bed, stained blankets. Couch only suitable for 2x people. Guest room with 1x queen and single bunk, bed not made, with zip locked linen and message on linen to say if only a single item used from package, laundering charges will apply. Kitchen grill not working. Hot water service only suitable for 1x quick shower at a time. Cabin advertised as having camp fire, no such thing exists. I have stayed in nicer cabins for half the price. For the price, expected a much better standard. Very unimpressed and will not be back.

The Serenity Glamping Tent was visibly mouldy, smelly & severely run down. Dust, hair & dead bugs in the bed & kitchen draws. All the furniture was stained. Then attended the “teepee” for bathroom amenities to be horrified by the black mould on tent & floor. So unhygienic & disgusting. We could NOT stay here and left within an hour. How can you justify charging $190 per night?!

We stayed in the dog friendly cabin and were very disappointed. It was cold and wet which probably didn’t help but this weather is not unusual for Daylesford during winter/early spring. The car parking spot outside the cabin was not paved or gravelled, just muddy, which made it very difficult to keep dirt out of the cabin, especially with a dog. The enclosed dog friendly yard was unusable, full of leaves and plant debris, with no grass. The air conditioner was inadequate to heat the cabin and very noisy resulting in a poor night’s sleep. It wasn’t cheap either. Not recommended.

Caravan Park very run down, needs some work Booked a powered site. No on-suite sites No drain for outlet hose. Small playground some equipment broken. Dog friendly but only in a caravan, another family had their dog. Shower block only 2 toilet & showers available other 2 locked so could not be used Fans in bathroom broken so ceiling covered in mould, felt dingy with only 1 light working. Entrance door to ablutions doesn’t close as it has been water damaged.

This was a very standard park with nothing outlandish but nothing bad either! We stayed 4 days and 5 nights at a powered site with water hookup. Amenities of the park we utilized included $5 each washing machine and dryer, covered camp kitchen (kettle, microwave, toaster, oven and stovetop and fridge, bbqs and tables) shower block and toilets, and public dump site and water tap just outside the park. Old but clean and offered alot at an affordable price! They were also able to accept us on short notice when we were bogged out of our free camping sites and the service was professional and friendly! Will definitely be back 🙌🏻

We did not enjoy our stay because we booked a cabin with ensuite as displayed on the Wotif website that we booked through and when we arrived we found it to be without an ensuite. This was unacceptable to us as we had our 80+ year old mother with us who had difficulty walking to the ablution block. I approached park management and they said it was an ongoing issue with third party booking sites and they couldn't do anything about it. I asked if there was anything else they could offer and management said no as they only cleaned the cabins that were required for that night. HOWEVER, when going out to dinner I noted they had a sign indicating that cabins were available to anyone calling in without a booking. This is the cause of my disappoin**ent that the staff and management were unwilling to come up with an alternative when what was said differed from posted signage. On this basis I would not recommend this park.
