Guest House Forty-Four

A wonderful place to stay in the heart of old town. Guest House Forty Four is a small, modern hotel where exceptional and personal service was the norm for the entire staff. The rooms are unique and modern with comfy beds and baths, but with historic stone work that sets the mood for Dubrovnik. They also have an excellent restaurant that serves both hotel guests and the public. It was delicious!

We had a long & exhausting trip to get to Dubrovnik, and were immediately relaxed as we got to our beautiful room. Very simple rooms, but absolutely perfect. The bathroom was nice, the balcony was fantastic, and the balance of modernity with the stone walls was beautifully done. Do expect stairs when you stay here!! I usually don't book breakfast, but was glad we had it included, as the breakfast spot during our stay was very close by, and right on the water, and absolutely delicious! We had a fantastic time and would love to stay here again.

Back from an incredible stay in Dubrovnik at Guest House Forty Four. Could not have picked a better location, right in the heart of the old town. Paula and her team were so welcoming and friendly- helping us with our bags through the impressive city walls and streets. The room itself was stunning, huge comfy bed (with powerful and much needed air-con), large clean bathroom and cute terrace. Paula went above and beyond to help us find activities, book us into busy restaurants (Taj Mahal is beyond amazing) and make sure our cab got us back to the airport to pick up our hire car for further travel. Would be back in a heartbeat. Incredible.

Had a really great stay here in Old Town Dubrovnik. Super convenient location, near all the main sights - with taxi/bus easily available if wish to travel further afield. Paula & team were so welcoming & helpful - nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great stay at Forty Four during our stay in Dubrovnik. Nice modern room with an outdoor patio (complete with visiting local cats), wonderful and friendly host and hostess, fabulous breakfast every morning, and right in the heart of the old city with everything within walking distance. What are you waiting for? Book it now!

Can’t recommend this place enough! We had a beautiful room with a large balcony. The location is incredibly central in the Old Town of Dubrovnik, but it was so quiet at night. The room was spacious and well appointed, the bathroom was great though it was hard not to end up with the floor soaking wet when showering. The bed was very comfortable. We were looked after so well by Paula and the team. Breakfast was delicious. Five stars all the way!

Love love this place… the room was great, spacious, clean and having a balcony was nice too! Location is amazing in the old down and if you are a first time visitor to Dubrovnik stay in the old down … Staff are awesome especially Paula, she was very helpful , calm and pleasant to talk with… also, the Resturant staff are pleasant and welcoming too… breakfast was simply perfect and that fig jam was so yummy! Highly recommended and thank you all for making our stay enjoyable!

We really enjoyed our stay at Guest House 44 at the beginning of July. Our room, #5, was the only one available when we were booking but we were not disappointed. We had enough room for my husband and me as well as a fold-out cot for our daughter. The best part of this room was the private terrace that overlooked the rooftops of Dubrovnik with a view of Mount Srd. On the last night, we had a view of the fireworks for the opening of a festival. The decor is beautiful and the beds are comfortable. We were greeted by Paola and also helped by Matea. Everyone was very nice. The breakfast was amazing. This room is at the very top of the hotel and there is no elevator but the staff was very helpful with carrying up our luggage.

My wife and i had an excellent stay and dinner at guest house 44. The excellent service started before our arrival. They called me to ask if i needed any assistance at arrival (the hotel/restaurant is in the middle if the old town, where no cars are allowed). As it happened my transfer car from Trogir was running late, and i was going to be late for my dinner reservation. They graciously moved the time. Upon arrival, we were greeted outside. Before i knew it, our bags were taken to our room. Check in was easy. We quickly washed up and came down for dinner. The host (owner?) sat us on an elevated private patio. We had one of the best meals of our trip. The octopus was cooked to perfection, as was the sea bass. Our waiter recommended a wine pairing that was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was a five course meal! Bread and jam, meats and cheese, eggs, a fruit plate and croissants. All graciously presented by the staff. Our room was nicely appointed, furnished, with a very comfortably sized bathroom/shower. We looked out on a church and private courtyard. The beautiful limestone wall opposite our bed was a lovely reminder we were staying in a 300 year old palace. The a/c was our respite/savior from the extreme heat in the alley ways and on the walls of the old town. With only five guest rooms its a true boutique hotel. If you're looking for an excellent place to stay in the old town, look no further than guest house 44.
