B&B Il Marzocco was amazing! It’s located right on the edge of city center with a 2 mins walk to 2 major bus line stops that go to the center and everywhere, which run frequently. If you prefer to walk it's just a 10 min walk. It’s also about a 7 min walk from the Florence Santa Maria Novella train station which is super convenient. It's on a quiet street so you can sleep well. The building is beautiful and felt very secure with 2 sets of locked doors, plus there's an elevator. The room itself was my fave part, the Florentine decor and design was so charming and elegant. The room was super clean which I loved and the bed was very comfortable. Also super important for me was the AC in the room worked super well! It did a great job cooling the room and you could adjust the temp with a remote! It even had a mini fridge which also worked well. Breakfast area was gorgeous with a nice fresh selection of items. Angela greeted me to the place and showed me the attractions on the map which was very nice and she was super helpful with everything. Her and the boss were very accommodating, which I greatly appreciated, thank you!! I would totally 100% recommend this place to couples, friend groups and solo travelers, and would personally love to return here!! Thank you!

Superb little bed and breakfast, with great attention to detail and a very hospitable feel. The tone of the place is somewhat like lodgings for the gentleman traveller, and I felt like starting a journal at the leather-topped desk. In fact, I did start one, but that is another story. The place is extremely well organised and runs like a well-oiled machine. Check-in after 6pm is self-service, but easy. The owner / manager is available seemingly all the time by Whatsapp or phone. The bed was absolutely enormous and very comfortable. The bathroom was well-equipped and immaculately clean. The shower was not always hot, but I reported it on departure and suspect it was not generally an issue. Breakfast was basic but everything was of excellent quality and plentiful. It's well-located for the train station, but check that the situation will work for you because it's a little out of the centre. If you want to keep popping back from the city centre take your walking shoes! I will unquestionably stay here again when I next visit Florence. It is well priced and extremely comfortable - very much the sort of place to tempt one back for a spontaneous few days away.

I've visited Milano, Venezia, Citta di San Marino in the Republic of San Marino, Ercolano, Napoli, and now Firenze since September 5, and all but one of my lodging selections were 9s or 10s in my estimation. Il Marzocco Boutique has easily bested all the others. Why? The owner and staff are warm and welcoming, eager to assist and make guests' stays in Florence as effortless and memorable as can be, providing much-appreciated directions on a map to locations and recommendations for meals if interested. The B&B has precise and gorgeous decorative appointments, like wall-mounted shelves with novels and travel guides. The bedroom and bathroom design and fixtures are clearly chosen by someone who intends to evoke in guests a very specific reaction of . . . pleasure, comfort, relaxation. Breakfast is vast and delicious. The beds and pillows are firm and very comfortable. The Wifi is fantastic. Finally, a great location: a straightforward 5-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella makes it easy to locate upon arrival. There is a tram stop around the corner. Depending on your walking route, Il Marzocco is a 20-minute walk to Piazza del Duomo, Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore, Battistero di San Giovanni, and Campanile di Giotto; to Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, and Loggia dei Lanzi; to Ponte Vecchio (frankly, a very unattractive bridge, despite its well-deserved veneration as a survivor of destruction); and a 40-minute walk across the Arno and up the “Rampe di San Niccolò” stairs and paths to Piazalle Michelangelo with its jaw-dropping vistas over Florence and the surrounding hills.

One of the most comfortable places i have ever been, very quiet, very clean, located in the town centrer and with a very friendly and kind stuff with the best recommendations about the places you must visit in the town. I highly recommend.

We booked a standard double room for two nights. Right when we arrived, we were welcomed by Sam (the owner), who promptly gave us a brief overview and introduction to the city. I must say that Sam was very kind and attentive during all our stay! To our surprise, we found out that our room was upgraded to a deluxe one, which was lovely! The room is clean and the shower and bathroom are great. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the historical center of Florence.

Grim little room, over looking a busy junction, next to the railway line. Receptionist took our credit card details and promptly left the building. We found burnt rubbish and laundry in window seat of our room. Air conditioning didn't work. Engaged in a series of fruitless exchanges with the owner, who was himself on holiday and suggested that maybe we shouldn't have looked in the window seat. We took our things and left.

The location was great, short walking distance from Santa Maria Novella train station so if you are arriving by train with your bags- this is great. However I don’t know if either everything gone up in Florence or if this is the place that charges quite a lot for accommodation. The room was spacious, clean , aircon worked well and so did the shower. There are original frescoes on the ceiling preserved . Breakfast was ok but very very basic. We stayed one night and were glad to move to our next hotel that we prebook Ed
