Stay away and run don't walk. Am elite Marriott member and had booked reservation over 7 weeks in advance. Showed up on check-in date and was told they were sold out and the hotel had cancelled my reservation 6 days earlier AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE COURTESY TO NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY CANCELLED THE RESERVATION 6 DAYS EARLIER. Had to scramble to find another hotel.

The front desk of this hotel are very disrespectful and races the girl at the front desk in the morning wouldn’t give me her name so I can’t address her like I would like but they took my 250 dollar deposit and try to say I smoked in the room the fire alarm went off a couple of times while we where cooking and the gentleman by the name Archie came to my room and looked all around it and told me everything was good and that I won’t be getting charged the girl in the morning told me I must have smoked in the room because that’s what black people do they lie I let that go and told her that I was picking up my butts and putting them in the trash in my room so she probably smelled that she continued to try and argue but I told her I wanted my 250 dollars back because I did not violate any rules check the cameras you see me going outside all night to smoke this place is the worst I’ve ever been to they scam you out of your deposit

This hotel feels so intimate and private, close to tons of shopping and stores, the rooms are large, clean, and fast wifi. Most importantly the staff here is so personable. I wish more hotels would bring this back, making check in feel like they're happy you're there. Ms. Mj Ongkingco was such a sweetheart and you can tell she loves her job. She went the extra mile and it's the exact reason I'll be back. Thank you for the great stay!

The area feels less than ideal and the room I stayed in was well used, let's say. Typical of several Marriotts I've stayed in as of late, which is probably why we'll change brands. Highly disappointed and will stay elsewhere next time I'm in the area.

There were a few good points- the checkin was good. There’s plenty of parking. The rooms are big and painted fairly recently. But it’s right by the motorway. So noisy at night. Access to our room was up a dark stairwell at the back of the building out of sight, one of the toilets leaked and - here’s my red line - the carpet was sticky. We were booked for five nights but escaped after one.

Stayed recently & for $119 a night, I was disappointed. It feels like a motel the moment you park and get out of your car. The area is seemingly safe but the hotel parking lot doesn’t feel safe. Staff was average/friendly but not the typical service you’d expect from Marriott. Find somewhere else for $119 a night.

I was here on two separate occasions for work. I stayed the end of January and first week of Feb. The first stay was ok but I should’ve reconsidered after I saw the amount of trash on the property. My second stay was one week later and I was shocked to see all of the same trash littered around the hotel. It’s surprising that a Marriott brand would let the hotel operate like that on a continuous basis without anyone taking care of it. It really shows how much management is paying attention. The rooms are ok but I wouldn’t stay again.

$100 for a "Penthouse Suite" should have been an obvious flag...I just didn't have time to research (and check Tripadvisor) so I took the bait counting on Marriott to protect the Residence Inn name. This Motel has been in Fremont forever and it shows. Buildings are poorly lit, parking is scarce (with a charge), and some interesting characters are nearby. We stayed one night and checked out first thing in the morning and went over to the Homewood Suites in Newark...literally 180 degrees different. Every negative review was correct and I'll add that elevators are missing...two flights of outdoor stairs in in poor lighting is ripe for an accident, then add in another flight to get to the loft in the suite.
