Hotel Esplanade

Kind receptionist, excelent room view and place for stay. Cute city and lake! Few warm nice bars and restaurant close to Hotel. Gmudnen Keramik museum and lake castle just by walking distance. Very romantic view and stay.

It is the second time that we have stayed in this hotel. Last time it was during the summer, now it was during Christmas time. We had a room with a lake view. The room was big and comfortable, and the view was amazing, like always. The bed was very comfortable too. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the centre of the town and in front of the lake. If you like Christmas markets, we highly recommend coming during the weekend. The breakfast is superb and the staff is helpful, always smiling and ready to help. It is one of our favourite places in Austria!

We had booked two rooms in this hotel. One with lake view and one with city view. In the case of the lake view room, waking up in the morning to see the view from our room was a delight. Both rooms were big and comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the centre of the town and in front of the lake. The breakfast was superb and the staff was helpful, always smiling and ready to help. We will definitely come back!

Top location, room overlooking the lake, exactly as the photos. Clean, spacious & quiet. Front desk Juliana was super lovely and sweet, gave us lots of information about what to see, where to eat, coffee and cakes..Really enjoyed Konditorei Grellinger cream-rolls, the best ever pastry !! Breakfast was super good quality. Spar supermarket was below, I could buy some chocolate & bonbons conveniently ;-)

We had wonderful experience even prior check in just to query on the location and parking, then during check in is warly welcomed by Laura , special arrangement for meal since the staff knew we were fasting and made us early food arrangement prior breakfast and perfect location to go about.

Our stay at the hotel was absolutely great - the staff was very nice and helpful, our room was clean and satisfied all our needs. I would definetly highlight the location of the hotel, everything is easy to reach from here in the neighborhood. The breakfast was also excellent, everything was delicious and fresh. The view to the lake Traunsee is amazing! Strongly recommended! :)

Very good location, grocery store below the hotel. Very good breakfast with a fantastic view on the lake. City parking right below hotel. We informed hotel that we would be with child, but there was no additional pillow and blanket left (reception works only till 16:30 and we arrived late evening). At the end of the hallway there is balcony for smokers so everything in there smells like cigarettes. If you have city view room be ready to wake up at 5:30 am, because grocery delivery is on for the shop below and garbage take away as well. Very very noisy. The room itself was old furniture and not clean enough. In general the hotel is too pricy for what you get.

Booked this room for a girl's trip and it was perfect. Room was very nice and the location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere and were very central. Breakfast was also amazing. Highly recommend this hotel and will surely stay here again.

We stayed for about a week at Hotel Esplanade in a "lake view room". If we could we would rate it 3.5/5: everything was fine and as well as you could expect from a ***-hotel with the bonus of a great view. Staff was friendly, although we had limited interaction with them. Our room came with a great view on Traunsee but the bathroom equipment was lacking (no extra mirror, loose shower sieve). The breakfast buffet had good quality, variety was a bit lacking though. One employee had to manage everything from cooking eggs to clearing the tables, which is why some guests helped because it sometimes took quite some time. No big deal, but not the best service either. Another thing we wanted to mention are wasps at the breakfast. This is obviously not the hotel's fault but the tables outside were unfortunately invaded by these suckers which kinda ruined the nice atmosphere. Maybe the hotel could check traps or fly screens.
