Le Bocage - Hakuba Echoland Chalets

The chalet is actually pretty nice and well equipped with a living room, a good tv, a fridge, and a mini kitchen. The main issue is that the location is quite far out and there are no buses nearby. The nearest one is Happo Bus Terminal and it's 1.5km away, or you can walk 2.1km from Hakuba Station. If you drive, that's probably a non-issue. If you live on the first floor, you'll also constantly hear stomping footsteps from the occupants on the second floor, i.e. the ceilings are extremely thin. On our trip there, one of us fell sick and I requested an early check-out by a day. While hosts are not required to oblige, there is unfortunately a lack of compassion to reject us in this manner. It wasn't even a last minute request, I've given ample time such that the host might accept another booking. This leads me to communication - which is severely lacking. When I booked this a month ago, I submitted a request for an early check-in but was only told about it not being possible less than a day before. I could've made more plans to shift my timings later if that was communicated earlier. Furthermore, while rejecting early check-in is the host's prerogative, it would be great if rejection reasons were provided. All I got was a notification from Trip.com that it was "unfortunately rejected". Overall, potentially a great place for a drive out, but if you don't drive it's probably not amazing. Also, you'll be expected to stay throughout - if you have emergencies, expect no compassion from the team here. L

Everything was good but heating was very stuffy

Perfect accom!! Shuttle buses to the slopes approx 2 min walk away. Local convenience store super small with limited variety, but okay for essentials. Spacious and clean.

Would definitely stay here again. The location was just soooo mint. Walking distance to the bus to all the ski spots and walking distance to so many restaurants. It was perfect.

Basic apartment with adequate amenities! The 1 bedroom studio fit 4 of us just nice. Sofa bed was great. Loved that the kitchen was well equipped and came with all the basic appliances and necessities. Common dry room on the lower ground to store all our gears! Location was exceptional, super near all the diff shuttle bus stops that got us to all the diff resorts. Transfer services included was a helpful! Just one thing- improve on supermarket shuttle system. Did not use at all. Rigid timing of 4pm and only limited to pick 1 per person from a household! Late night timings or early mornings would be useful. And dryer seems to be faulty. Not drying properly. Recommended for small group stays!

Very nice place and staff. Very convenient location near restaurants and bus line. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous stay at Le Bocage. The property was exactly what we needed for a 10 day stay. It is very well located making it walkable to everything - some dining options being only 10m away. It is well fitted out with all you that you need. We really appreciated the washer/dryer and reverse cycle split systems. It could possibly be noisy in the peak season but i would imagine you would be exhausted from a day on the slopes and it wouldn't be an issue. The stairs were very steep and did not have good lighting, making them a hazard for young children and anyone a little unsteady on their feet. We would definitely stay again.

Highly recommended Excellent chalet. We didn't want to leave. We particularly love the kitchen and laundry facilities. The owners are kind to help make a restaurant reservation for us ahead of time.
