Wild Orchid Resort - Havelock Island

Excellent place to stay. Hospitality was so good. Traditional bamboo house.

We had been waiting to go to Wild Orchid for ***y years. We had a full two weeks there on the Anda*** Islands. The room was nice and quite large, bathroom was adequate but could be updated but was fine. Breakfast was fine and staff and ***ager always courteous and helpful if needed. Water is provided in thermos type refillable bottles which we put in the fridge! The location was not on the beach but ***y places to go down to the beach if required nearby! Plenty of places near to walk. We found Wild Orchid restaurant a bit trendy for us, plus music was often very loud which seems to be an Anda*** thing we noticed a lot of places. Our only complaint, nothing the hotel can do about it, was traffic noise. The hotel is set on a fairly busy road with traffic starting very early about 0530. We are not used to this so we're awake very early! We walked lots and visited the capital town, Dolphin resort bar and beach, ate mainly at the famous seafood restaurant!

We had a great experience at Wild Orchid at Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep Island). The ***ager explained about the island and recommended what to see and visit during our stay there. He also helped us arrange for a 2-wheeler to go around the place. One of the things I appreciate the most about him was that he went out of his way to help us. It so happened one evening that my husband was having a fever, I reached out to him asking if he could send a fever tab for my husband via the housekeeping staff. Instead, he came with the medicine and enquired about how my husband was doing and followed up with us on the next day asking if we still needed any help. I truly appreciated this gesture of his. The breakfast and service here was excellent. I would especially like to thank Ajay, Farkan (hope I got his name right) and the cheerful chap from Kolkatta (whose name I forget now, sorry) Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thanks to the ***ager and staff for making our stay memorable.

Room is big size and decorated like a wild jungle resort. Linen towels etc are clean and good quality. Restaurant serves latin american food. Breakfast menu is limited. Dont have intercom from room. Its a very small property. Not much place to roam around inside. Average resort little overpriced. ***ager and other staff are well ***nered and courteous n helpful.

Nice ambience overall. Small. 14-15 rooms. No room service. no phone in the room. No lunch. Breakfast average. bathrooms not acceptable. Stained shower curtainns. Tiles have cement marks. Housekeeping available only in the mornings.

First of all as mentioned it’s not a beach property. Rooms are Average not worth for more than 4K , so don’t book if it’s expensive. There are better hotels with direct beach access. There is no Indian cuisine available, there’s a bar . Complementary breakfast is not good at all, except toast there’s nothing, instead you can go out and explore cafés.

Place is okayish. Good even but not great. Breakfast options are average. Staff however, is very courteous and helpful. Location of the hotel is very convenient. The jetty is barely 15 minutes away. One of the rooms had a damp, musty smell to it. The water pressure in the bathroom was extremely low; almost non-existent. The hotel ***agement should look into upgrading the bathroom fixtures.

I understand that those who wish to stay away from the city's hustle and bustle can afford to do so. However, I did not enjoy my stay at this place for the following reasons: 1. There is no catering service inside the room, not even basic amenities like water. Guests need to step out of their rooms to arrange for these services from nearby restaurants. This was a big disappointment. 2. Most of the rooms suffer from waterlogging in the sewerage system. 3. The water pressure inside the washroom is very low. 4. A lot of areas inside the hotel have no light coverage it is tough to make it neat & clean for it's close to nature's idea. You will be shocked before entering the reception lobby by seeing the placard "Open your shoes".

The Property does not have a private beach but it was mentioned in the Room facility almost in all the websites. It was too costly. Anish who is the Resort ***ager was too rude when enquiring about the Cancellation of the room for one day. we booked the resort for 4 days and wanted to cancel the last day. We were in a tough situation where in, our ferry was about to cancel and our flight was preponed, we decided to vacate the room last day. He did not help us, as we were the only family to stay at the resort. He dint want to lose that one day rent and denied our request. we were having kids and they were not well. Even after explaining the situation, he dint bother to listen to it and help us. The property was not so good. it lacked cleanliness. they charged too much for nothing.
