Residence Inn Dortmund City

A Home from home room, and the first "hotel" I've stayed in with a dishwasher in the room. Room was clean and well presented. It was a strange mix, of a self catering unit and a conventional hotel room. Decor was modern and the bathroom was one of the best I've seen and as large as the rest of the room. Only downside was the shower drain was partially blocked so excess water built up on the floor and turned the room into a swimming pool. Reported it to reception whom arranged maintenance to attend to it.

War alles sehr gut, Zimmer, Ausstattung und das Frühstück, nur der Herr vom Nachtdienst auf den 14.04. war extrem unfreundlich, das habe ich so noch nie erlebt!

Had a wonderful time at this hotel it was like being at home with all the facilities of home like kitchen with cooker and sink and microwave and lovely large bed and room to relax in if not out on town , breakfast excellent early morning , it was the place I wanted a hotel to be in dor**und , close to airport and not far from the beautiful train station , and town , near a record shop and lots of activities around hotel , excellent hotel but weather was not very good wind and rain , but excellent time in dor**und Germany , magic oh magic , German football history stadium close to train station in dor**und , be great to stay at this hotel again , it was different kind of hotel , a magic place of adventure , relaxing eating and drinking and walking around town visiting a record shop and shopping , add romance prefect place to be in dor**und Germany , hotel clean and made for comfort while on holiday away from home

We needed an overnight stay in Dor**und before heading to Amsterdam. It' not too far from the train station and is close to the U and a subway line. It is also close to s supermarket complex (5 min walk). Room was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good. I'd be happy to stay here again. It is just on the outside of the pedestrian area downtown, and about a 10 min walk from the German Football Museum. We had one issue getting in with our car, but they fixed that.

It was great shining shock at the beginning. Very glad to choose this hotel .it was our first.but we loved every moment we were staying there. Well design place in spacious room even each detailed design wisely for comfort staying. Enjoyable breakfast. Great location as well .

New and clean hotel close to the center of the town. 10 mins walking to main train station and 15 mins walking to city center. Quite big rooms with bathroom and kitchen. Nice but everyday the same breakfast. Limited service. Recommended as price was decent.

This hotel charged me 600 euro a night. There must have been something on in Dor**und for anyone to pay this as it’s more like a backpackers than a hotel. I arrived at 11pm. My stay was prepaid in full by my corporate travel agent. They said they had no rooms and that I would have to wait and they would take me to another property somewhere in the city. I was very upset and refused to move and finally they “found” a room. At this point it was almost midnight. I asked could I order a beer to take to my room. The answer was no but I could go to another hotel nearby where there was a bar. 600 euros a night. I then got to my room which was fine and clean if basic. There were only European sockets. I have sleep apnea and need a cpap device and an adapter for a Uk plug. Every Marriot I have ever been to has the universal plugs (at least one or two in each room). This place has none. Just basic German sockets. I called down and said do you have an adapter I will even buy one of you sell them. I will even pay for someone to go and get one. I was told, no we don’t and we don’t have a conceirge or anyone like that and we won’t help. Even if it means you die. True Marriot hospitality. So I guess anyone without their own adapter is out of luck at this “hotel”. I then tried the internet. Out of luck there too, internet shows up but doesn’t connect or work. I called the front desk. It just rings out. Over and over. No one answers or bothers. This is the single worst experience I have ever had at a hotel at the price point or at any Marriot worldwide, and I have stayed in many of them over many years. This place should lose its accreditation and the management ought to be replaced. Do not stay here unless you get a room for 50 euro a night, maybe 75, which is all it’s worth it’s basically a nice backpackers just off a freeway. If Marriot sees this can someone please contact me as this hotel caused me health issues and was a disgrace to your brand.

We were definitely excited to visit the hotel, but were not really warmly welcomed. The front desk person was very direct, no “how was your journey” or “how are you”, in any case not service oriented. We were not offered an upgrade as a gold member and were put on a high floor (as requested) with a view of a high building. This was apparently a nightclub which began on a friday at about 11 pm and did not stop until 5:30 am. The room was fairly well isolated, but we could still hear a throbbing sound allll night, therefore we did not get a good night rest! The next morning there was a very friendly front desk person (Wesley) and he was very nice and heard our concern after which he changed our room for us. The next night, we were not bothered by the sound of the night club. We were greatful for being moved, but maybe better to inform the guests regarding the noise of the nightclub until the early morning, before assigning them such a room! We enjoyed breakfast, had a lot of choice. The parking of the hotel is fairly small and there are no EV charging stations. The location is very good, walkable to the city center. Because of the noise disturbance and the lack of EV charging stations, we will not return to this hotel.
