Hotel Almrausch

This is our second time staying at this amazing hotel, with a very hospitable family and their staff. The location is excellent, next to the ski lift, and with the new elevator (!), you can go directly from the heated ski storage to the slopes. The food is a delight every day, and half-board is simply a must. Relaxing in the (extensive) sauna after a day of skiing is absolutely enjoyable. We've stayed in quite a few hotels, but never in one where cleaning is done non-stop. This hospitality family knows how to treat their guests and deserves a big compliment. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great hotel with friendly staff. Stayed here for a week as part of Crystal ski holiday package. The room was modern and spotlessly clean but not particularly cozy. But it did have a kettle and fridge for that all important morning cuppa. Could have saved some space as we brought our own travel kettle. Bathroom also had wall mounted full sized shower gel, body lotion so no need to bring also. Breakfast buffet including egg station was plentiful and tasty. The evening meal includes salad bar and starters followed by soup then mains (usually choice of 4) that you select at breakfast. The food really is top notch and varied. We had excellent Pork, Beef, Halibut, Lamb & Venison dishes. Local wines such as Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch are well worth trying and priced €26 per bottle upwards. Location of hotel allows access to the slopes very easily via a t-bar drag lift. However the south facing slopes that allow more novice / intermediate friendly via gondola are a 5 min walk away. Overall a great place to stay

What a fab week. Hotel Almrausch was totally perfect for us as family. Very big and spotlessly clean room. The hotel is family run and they make you feel so welcome. The food really is fine dining in the evening and in our opinion more onf 5 star level than 4 star. The wine selection was wide and very well thought through. Breakfasts were also great, refreshing that there wasn't a silly amount of choice but what there was, was very plentiful and well presented. The wellness area is amazing, again, so clean and very well equipped and very relaxing after a hard day skiing. Great situation right next door to the T-bar lift that allows access then to higher lifts/gondolas. Literally a minute walk to the ski bus stop giving access to all the ski/gondola stations in the area. Hinterglemm is a beautiful town with so many lovely shops/bars/apres/restaurants - you really are so well placed but yet it is a much quieter/calmer town than Saalbach. We loved our stay at Hotel Almrusch. We didn’t find too many recent reviews for it before we went so here’s some thing we noticed that you might find helpful for your trip: Ahead of time a quick email to the hotel sorted our group of 8 to all sit together at dinner. Sarah was really helpful. The hotel is located next to an easy T-bar lift with a ‘blue’ run coming back down so you can be our of the modern ski room on the basement level of the hotel & onto the slope in moments. Quite a few people we spoke to commented that the skiing here was more challenging than other resorts and we certainly experienced a very wide range of ‘blue’ pistes from the very genetic to the very steep. The hotel is located on the North facing side of the valley so the rooms at the front don’t get the sun but the ones at the back will. We stayed in room 404 which had an amazing slope view, lovely balcony, large bedroom and bathroom with bathtub and shower over. Highly recommend. The staff are all incredibly helpful without being intrusive. The food is excellent. As a group of 8 we tried every meal on the menus and enjoyed them all. The main gondola for the south facing side of the mountain (ski to Saalbach) is about a 5 min walk. Worth it as the skiing in this side was generally less icy when we visited. You can also get the ski bus back for free and it stops just a few moments from the hotel (stop 15 I think). The gondola for the North-facing side (behind the hotel) is easily accessed by taking the t-bar lift up and following route 15 across the tops of the slopes to the right and down. Food & drink on the mountain was priced equally with in the town and IMO the mountain food was generally better for lunch. The only very minor downside was the hotel bar is quite small so when a group of 8 like ours was in there it was pretty much full. That’s l being really picky though as this is a great family run hotel. Thanks very much Sarah & team!

Stayed with a group of friends in Jan ‘22 for a ski trip. The rooms we had were modern and spacious, benefitting from a double and single bed (which is good as not a fan of the Austrian twin). The hotel is family run and the owners were really nice and friendly, food and service were spot on and exactly what we wanted. There is a drag lift next door to the hotel so we were able to get easy access to that side of the mountain. Sauna etc all looked modern and new. Would definitely revisit and recommend to others.

Looking for somewhere to stay in Hinterglemm? Our fourth time of returning. This place is a must for so many reasons, staff are wonderful nothing is too much effort and always with a smile, the food is delicious with plenty of choice and situated next to a T bar, perfect for ski in ski out. We have been staying in this hotel for one week for mountainbiking and it was really phantastic. Rooms are perfect, service very, very friendly and meals are 5*. (Meat, fish and vegetarian) The hotel is in the middle of all trails and so perfect to stay.

Das familiengeführte Hotel Almrausch ist ein tolles Beispiel für Gastfreundlichkeit und Liebe zur Hotellerie. Selbst wenn es etwas voller ist, die Familie und Mitarbeiter sind sehr aufmerksam und helfen von Herzen gern. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut ausgestattet und die Matratzen wirklich bequem. Absolut herausragende ist das Essen! Sie sollten unbedingt das Abendessen mit buchen! Hier können Sie aus verschiedenen Menüs wählen. Es gab nie eine Enttäuschung. Der Sauna Bereich ist zwar klein, aber sehr schön gestaltet und während unseres Aufenthaltes nie überlaufen gewesen. Das Hotel selbst ist super gelegen, man kann sämtliche Lifte zu Fuß erreichen. Mit der Joker Card hatten wir tolle Wandertage, aber auch für Biker ist das Hotel mit eigener Fahrrad-Waschmöglichkeit und Lagerraum gut ausgestattet. Wir kommen definitiv wieder hierher wenn wir in der Nähe sind!

We waren in hotel Almrausch voor een weekje skivakantie. Zeer goed hotel, heel propere kamer, mooie wellness. Ontbijtbuffet ook met veel keuze, avondeten heel lekker ( keuze tussen verschillende gerechten). Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Skikelder met aparte afsluitbare kasten per kamer voor ski's en skibotten, en handige lift naar straatniveau. Sleeplift ligt naast het hotel, dus 5 meter wandelen en je staat al op de piste. Ook een grotere skilift op slechts 3 minuten wandelen. Indien nodig kan je ook de skibus nemen, halte is ook vlakbij het hotel. En het skigebied is zeer uitgebreid, wij hadden heel goede sneeuw en mooi weer
