The Hopton Crown

Room basic needs a bit of tlc. Knife was broken no pan in the oven to cook with. Evening meal shocking asked for med to well done steak and the blood was running round the plate. Had poached egg for breakfast had to spit if out as all I could taste was white vinegar. 2nd time staying here. The chef needs to go and they need to reevaluate there menu cause the one on their website is nothing like the one you get.

Great location in middle of countryside The rooms are very spacious and the Bathroom was nice and clean with good water pressure Large comfy bed and tv included Provided kettle for tea and coffee in room Stayed one night and included breakfast Lots of parking Has wifi Menu for dinner is limited but pizza was very tasty

We’ve just had a one night stay to catch up with family. We loved it! Great Friday evening vibe in the bar with yummy beer. Young staff all very welcoming and friendly. Clean and very comfortable room with excellent bed. Dinner was not cheap but we loved every course. Breakfast was tasty with quality ingredients and great coffee. Our overall bill for the stay was £214 which included lots of drinks and a hearty dinner - great value for the quality, we felt. Will be back and highly recommend.

What a Disappointment...... We first visited The Crown in September 2019 - when we had a delicious meal outdoors on the patio; very tasty and certainly recommended the hostelry Unfortunately mainly due to their opening hours we were unable to visit until yesterday and are so so sad with the small choice of dishes on the menu There was only one other table occupied My partner's starter was fine but we both ordered fish and chips - presentation was acceptable but I found that my fish was glistening as I cut into it. Waitress dealt with situation well but having taken the meal back to the kitchen .... returned with the meal saying that the chef had used the thermometer and the fish was cooked. She had the thermometer to show me!!!!! I was offered another meal replacement but there was nothing acceptable on the small menu The fact that I was offered a replacement meal we were charged full price -

We stayed at the Hopton Crown as we were attending a funeral. Staff were very friendly and helpful. May go back and visit the local area under happier circumstances. Evening meal was good and service was excellent.

Pleasant reception, nice evening meal, superb shower, comfortable bed. Quite close to a busy road, which could be intrusive to some, but caused us no problems. Room could do with re-arrangement, and bathroom while spacious could also do with re-planning. However, none of this would put us off staying here again.

Stayed one night for a family get together rooms good clean and comfortable. Very disappointed with the food not much choice starters were fine but mains fish and chips worst I have ever had overcooked hard batter unable to cut ,breakfast very poor all over cooked hard and inedible. A shame because staff were excellent polite,efficient and very friendly

We stopped for Sunday lunch which we were really looking forward to and ordered roast beef & Yorkshire pudding and vegetables. We got served, but unfortunately the food was not hot and had to be sent back to be warmed up. After a long wait the same plates of food came back - The roasted carots were half burnt, the potatoes were rock hard and dry and the meat was dry and had not tasty at all. The Yorkshire pudding was also dry. The side dish of cauliflower cheese was ok. For 18 pounds per person the food was not good enough and we could not finish it - despite being very hungry when we arrived. When we complained we were not offered any discount or free drink or anything. The service was also not very welcoming from the start. We left feeling quite disappointed and annoyed that we spent our money on a meal we didn't enjoy - especially as we had just had a long drive up from Harwich. It's not surprising that the restaurant was nearly empty on a sunday. It's shocking that they dare to serve food as bad as this and ask money for it. Please avoid this restaurant and go elsewhere. There are much better places in Bewdley and Ludlow.

Just returned from this lovely place and can't wait to return! We stayed in the Garden Suite which was great lovely kitchen area well equipped if you wanted to cook for yourselves (we didn't as on holiday!) We ate there every night on our 4 night stay and the food was top notch breakfast was really good too. All the staff and locals were lovely and friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them in the evening. We have to mention Sam the waiter barman reception person( jack of all trades and master of all!)he has to be the most friendly personable young man you could ever wish to meet ! He is a real credit to the place and we wish him well. Thank you again Hopton Crown for an excellent stay love Carol and Leanne
