The Market Courtyard - Suites Hotel

We suffered a lot from noisy families that eat in the patio until very late in the night. Also during the day there was a lot of noise. Can't understand how the owners permits such a noise that badly affect the other gusts. There was no one to complain to and to try to reduce the noise. There was no one to turn to. Even after the holiday, when we talked with the representative, he refused to take responsibility and asked us to take pictures refused to believe us. If you want to rest this is NOT the place to do so !!!

I loved staying here. Fabulous location and the staff are so helpful. The market is across the road (and so are lots of other fab shops), but with my apartment overlooking the back lane, I had total privacy and quiet, which I loved. And I had a BATHTUB! Big deal for me and one I made use of! And the kitchen allows you to eat in when you want - Shabbat included. I am going back at the end of my Israel visit - which I guess is the best recommendation possible. Suggestions for improvement are very few: 1) Supply a bathplug. Saves me buying one. 2) Get the stains off the bathtubs - they look dirty but are not and I know because I scrubbed them!) 3) Jerusalem is cooler than the rest of Israel so I would really love a fan so I don't have to use aircon (cheaper for you - but I know it's not for everyone). And 4) icecube tray in freezer.

This hotel exudes charm! Its historical patio adorned with flowers creates a unique atmosphere reminiscent of old Jerusalem, all while keeping you conveniently situated in the heart of it all. From the Jerusalem Central station to Saker Park, the Market, and the Old City, all major attractions are within easy walking distance. While the rooms may be modest, the building and other charming details contribute to an authentic and ultimately comfortable experience.

Great location, clean, comfortable. The bath tub /shower was clean but old and the water pressure was terrible. Just a drip. No elevator, so if this is a problem, you should ask for a 1st floor. The beds were comfortable but narrow.

Loved the location right across from Mechane Yehudah. All the staff were incredibly friendly and pleasant. The building was so charming and authentic. The room wasn’t glamorous but it was clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Right opposite the Machaneh Yehudah Market. I spent a Thursday night on a business trip with limited time to see the city. This proved to be a perfect location. It was 2km from the Damascus gate, the quickest way into the Old City. I didn't feel like this was a long way to walk and the benefits of having a vibrant night-time market with loads of food options and some great little bars was worth the extra walk. The apartment was spacious, Room 10. I would have preferred a king size double bed but I forgot to request a double so had 2 singles. It wasn't a train smash. The amenities included a small kitchen which would have been perfect if I'd wanted to buy a few things at the market and warm them in the apartment.

Excellent location and value for money. The suite includes a basic kithchenette and within 5 minutes there are all the eating places of the Mahaneh Yehuda market. The period building has a charm that no mass hotel can rival. If you have a problem with stairs then this may not be for you.

PREPARE TO BE VERY DISAPPOINTED IF YOU BOOK THIS HOTEL!! I would never suggest staying at this establishment (if you want to call it that)!! They were extremely rude, uncooperative and they gave us a room that was on the 3rd floor which you could only access by stairs although we stated that we had mobility issues which they totally ignored! When I booked I chose a room that had a double bed and two single beds but was given a room with two single beds and one aweful pullout sofa which was as hard as a rock. They also charged us more money then what was quoted!! Their answer to us about the beds was that is was only a “REQUEST” and thus they are under no obligation to provide it! It was honestly they worst experience!!!! The manager that we dealt with should NOT be in the hospitality sector! To clarify on ********** it illustrated what a room with a double bed and two singles looked like in this establishment and that is what we reserved but definitely did not get. They wanted us to pay much more money to get the room that we actually reserved and in fact on ********** the room rate for the exact same dates had actually dropped in price!! Think long and hard before booking this location!! Please note that we are seasoned travelers!

The location is amazing, few steps from the Market (Shuk Machne Yehuda) that become even more of an attraction in past years. Many restaurants and bars amongst the old shops and food carts. At night it becomes one big party place, lively and hectic, and also quite noisy. Not a place for peace and quite, unless center of the action is your ideal place to feel comfortable. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. The flats are in one old quaint and historic building , center around a lovely courtyard. The architecture is charming, the flat we had was not big but functional. The decor and finish are basic, even by Israeli standard, which is a shame since the flat seems to have so much potential! Car access is challenging, the hotel is on a pedestrian only street, only about 12ft wide, you can bring a car to the adjacent street, which is only slightly wider, tricky to get to, and reserved for resident parking only. There is no easy way to stop and unload in the main adjacent street (Agrippas), remember that the area is very crowded and hectic. There are a few paid parking places a few streets away, though some can get full often, or close during night or over the weekend. If you do not expect to drive during your stay, and do not have much luggage, consider come using the train that goes on Jaffa street.
