Always stay this hotel when I visit JNB from Aisa. Very convenient for business meeting and very comfortable / relaxing. Food for in room service is perfect. Nice view on Wanderers club. Also, happy to early check in service always.

Worst customer service Reported room cleaning and room too cold at 5am When returned at 3pm nothing was fixed Service manager lady OFFERED to change my room, all I had to was wait wait wait with them not knowing when the other room would be available I always a reasonable person, if the room was serviced properly and heater was working or fixed, I wouldn't need their unfriendly and unprofessional attention Sad to know Marriott or Protea paying salary to people who do not contribute to what they been paid Am still waiting for the room 😂 Have been here few times, nothing has changed and I just had to accept it as long as things work in the room! Given a choice I wouldn't choose this hotel for sure!

I have never been so poorly treated nor accommodated. The room was tiny and didn’t even allow for the door to open all the way. The full size towels were flimsy and worn so thin, it just felt disgusting. There were no face towels provided, even upon requests. The phone in the room did not work to call downstairs and the television did not connect to internet to work, although it has Internet-only programming. I reported these items to the front desk staff and nothing was done. I’ve decided to shorten my stay and simply leave to a nearby airbnb instead, because this is atrocious. The last encounter was in asking for a late checkout, until I can properly move myself and belongings to my next stay. The manager Amos is the worst. I’ve never seen a manager so unhelpful and useless. He denied my late checkout and pretended the hotel is full in occupancy although there are rooms for display on Hotel Tonight for checkin today. I’ve never not been accommodated with a late checkout and honestly just feel insulted with this entire experience. This was the worst stay ever and an embarrassment to the Marriott brand. I am a loyal Hilton Honors member and it is because of piss-poor experiences like this at Marriott that I will not be changing that loyalty any time soon.

We stayed here for a week in mid-October as part of a large group on a cricket tour. It’s very central with excellent sporting facilities and it suited the group perfectly. The staff throughout the resort also went above and beyond to help. The reason for the 4 stars is that, for a place that is very sport-orientated, the hotel gym and swimming pool were very disappointing! There is definitely room in the grounds for a decent sized pool - can’t really understand why it’s missing? All in all though, a great stay!

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on a recent business trip. The rooms are quite spacious, clean and well decorated. I loved how fluffy the pillows were. I think they could do better on the food, but overall my experience was enjoyable.

For the rate charged at this hotel, I expect more than one 200ml bottle of still water for 2 guests in the room. The biggest issue is breakfast. Very basic, poorly prepared food. A toaster that requires you to put bread through 4 times. A manager that tells you nothing much is being done now because they are waiting to renovate. When we got up in the middle of our breakfast to get more food items, our table was cleared of all food, juice and freshly poured coffee. Poor management at the restaurant

This hotel is really lovely. Stayed her whilst on study block and it was the perfect location. Professional staff and AMAZING food! The food is really amazing. I enjoy staying here. Also close to Rosebank virgin active.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Protea Hotel Wanderers. The hotel has been recently refurbished and has a modern , relaxing and warm ambience throughout the hotel. A great outdoor and indoor dining area and pool. Lovely views of the lush greenery surrounding the hotel. There was afternoon entertainment which was a nice touch to the great atmosphere at the hotel. Our room was spacious , neat, clean with modern refurbishments. The cuisine was great and the service from all staff was excellent. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to corporate and leisure travellers.
