Chongfah Beach Resort Khaolak

This was our second stay here. Again everything was wonderful. All the staff are so friendly and we appreciate the housekeeping staff getting us the mosquito coils to take home. The towel art was also very impressive! We had a beach front room which is beautiful and well worth the extra money. We had a couple of walks along the beach at low tide or you can walk to the left of the hotel for a minute and access a small beach that way if you want a swim. The pool area is beautiful and I pleased they are replacing the decking this year. This is very quiet hotel. No music blaring and mostly couples. Half way through our stay a family arrived with two small children. They showed no consideration for anyone’s peace. Children were screaming and running up and down in front of the villas. Parents just not taking any interest. I really do think that this hotel would be very successful as an adult only hotel. It mostly is anyway. Thank you to you all for a lovely stay

Once again I have visited this lovely resort which is tranquil, peaceful and a place for utter relaxation. The staff are welcoming and warm and make every effort to make your stay as lovely as possible. The beach front room while a little more expensive is well worth the money looking out into the sea with uninterrupted views of the ocean. The room is very clean and has the benefit of turn down service which is lovely coupled with the lighting of the mosquito deterrent each evening. Well worth the money and can recommend this resort 100%, thank you.

Everything at the ChongFah is beautiful. The staff, the rooms, the food, the location, everything. We could not have had a more wonderful stay, our thanks to everyone there who made our holiday so special and memorable. See you next year everyone

What an amazing hotel. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will be returning in January 2025! My partner and I stayed in one of the beach bungalows and my partner's parents in another beach bungalow. The bungalows were brilliant, very private, and right out onto the beach. They have everything you could need, towels and bedding changed regularly, toiletries, a mini bar, a coffee machine, etc. The towels for your private sunbeds are changed every day which was a nice touch. The staff at the hotel are lovely and can't do enough for you, Roger, Pea and the rest of of the bar staff and maids were just brilliant and always had a smile on their face. We loved sitting at the bar watching the sunset and enjoying the happy hour cocktails. The hotel is small, nice and private and very peaceful. Chong Fah is in a great location too with lots of restaurants and bars close by with a taxi rank outside. The sunsets from here are unreal. See you next year! :)

We had the most wonderful holiday at Chongfah, which is an absolute gem of a resort. It's located down a quiet street but is within easy reach of plenty of bars and restaurants, the beach and a 10 -15 minute walk away from the night market. Everything was perfect 👏👏👏👏 - the beautiful location (beach access is possible at low tide), our gorgeous, spotlessly clean room with its comfy bed 🛏️💕 (we slept so well), the refreshing pool beneath the palm trees , the excellent breakfast with a sea view (more than enough choice for us) 😋😋🥞 the bikes which are free to use and "Happy Hour" sunsets to die for 🌅🌅🌅, but what makes this hotel extra special is the staff. Every single one of them went out of their way to make us feel welcome and I swear they are mind readers as they anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. Service was above and beyond and always came with a smile and a friendly comment or joke. We felt like we'd found a home beside the sea, and consequently it was very hard to leave. Thank you to all the team at Chongfah for making our stay so special. We appreciated your thoughtfulness and can't wait to return. 💕💕💞 🏝️🏝️🏝️ PS: Ask Khun Pae or Mr Roger for a 'special' cocktail. I am Paul C's wife, Tess, writing this review. I recently took a solo trip to Khao Lak where we have traveled as a couple many times. We are very familiar with the area and the standard of hotels. We have stayed in both high end and budget accommodation in the 15 years we have been going. Testament to how good Chong Fah is, is we have already rebooked for 2024! I stayed in a sea view bungalow. The room was big, clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. The room was cleaned twice a day, once in the morning and again a quick sweep through and bin empty at turn down time. The air conditioner unit outside is noisy and can be quite loud in the bathroom but the bedroom is well insulated from this noise, and combined with the background sounds of the ocean shouldn't affect sleep quality. I slept very well and I can be a poor sleeper. All the staff are absolutely delightful and I felt welcome from the moment I arrived till I left again. The food is good. Breakfast has plenty of options, some days it was buffet some days off the menu depending on how many guests were in the resort. The coffee is very good, probably the best I have had at any Thai hotel. Definitely good enough to have a second cup most mornings. The lunch/dinner menu also had plenty of options both Thai and western and I happily ate either lunch or dinner in the restaurant or with room service most days. There is also plenty of other food options with the main street of Bang Niang just a few minutes walk from Chong Fah. The pool was sparkling clean and so very inviting. A good size for a resort that only has 30 rooms and definitely long enough to swim a few laps. I spent many hours relaxing in the pool, gazing out over the infinity wall to the ocean beyond. The one downside is that access to the beach is difficult and only when its low tide. There are stairs that go down to the rocks below and with careful navigation it is possible. Coastal erosion has been an ongoing issue for many years in Khao Lak and many resorts are now affected by this. There are however plenty of beaches a short taxi ride away that provide sun loungers with beach bars and restaurants. If relaxation, warm service, and Thai charm is what you are looking for then Chong Fah is definitely the place to be and I for one am counting down the days till I am back!

We stayed for 9 nights in a sea view villa and our daughter had a standard first floor room. All rooms are of a great standard. Good bed linens, towels, turn down service and plenty of free water. We loved our beach front villa with private sun loungers right in front of the sea. These are most definitely the best rooms. Although our daughters room was also nice with a big balcony with sun loungers. The staff here are all very sweet and friendly. Nothing was ever to much trouble. There are always plenty of sun loungers and it never felt crowded. It was a shame that the prices in the restaurant were so high so we always went out for lunch and dinner. At low tide you can walk along the beach. The location of this hotel is what makes it. Total tranquility but within five minutes walk of bars restaurants shops and massage places. Also try the market for great mojitos. As my husband says on his review the decking needs replacing. Other than that it is perfect. Thank you to all at Chongfah

So friendly staff. Very clean rooms (garden bungalows), cleaned twice a day, leaving small gifts. Had the hotel and the pool almost to ourselves. Breakfest was not overly amazing but the coffee was great compared to the usual crap. Decent wifi. Free bikes available (which we unfortunately realized too late). Location right next to the beach (though not suited for swimming/playing). A few hickups: private spa had brown water. Phone not working. Water tap not working (fixed ourselves). Minor stuff... Overall, great relaxing experience and the staff really made us feel at home. Can definitely recommend if you want to stay in a quiet area.

From the moment we arrived and for the following nine night this hotel was just truly wonderful. The staff were just so friendly, nothing was to much trouble and whatever was required it was delivered with a smile every time. Sun beds were provided with comfy yellow towels which in turn were then complimented by a further grey towel for use when coming out of the swimming pool or the sea. Location was perfect for privacy being located just outside the main town centre of Khao Lak but just nicely placed for a slow walk into the town. House keeping were brilliant with daily cleaning which was further complimented with an evening turndown service, it truly felt like a 5* resort with no limits to customer service. I would truly recommend this hotel for price, comfort and service but with one slight recommendation that maybe change the pool decking which is looking slightly tired and in need of replacement. Keep up the great work Chongfah and we look forward to seeing you all next visit.
