Privileged to have had the opportunity to stay at the Ammazulu Palace - a spectacular art gallery in an amazing location. Alta is a great hostess and made us feel at home form the start. Highly recommended

Very spacious rooms. Interesting architecture. The view is amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. Close to restaurants and shops but not too close that it is disturbing the peace. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Pinetown.

There is nothing to prepare you for the visual spectacle that is the Ammazulu Palace. First of all, you are just overwhelmed by its scale. The next thing that hits you are the colours and textures. It is Africa in fibre, beads and exquisite wood carvings. Our room was as presidential as its name, but I have to commend the staff who were so helpful in assisting us with some unusual requirements. They went above and beyond.

Definitely a hidden gem in Durban worth staying at. The Accommodation is breathtaking and the art all over is captivating. Stayed twice and enjoyed it each time. The presidential suite views are amazing

We arrived on a rainy night in a small car, and made it up the drive, which was rather steep. Beyond that, the Palace awaited us in its full glory. So many interesting designs and artifacts. We were upgraded to the presidential suite with a majestic balcony, and a stunning outlook on Kloof Gorge the next morning when the sun came out! Had a great breakfast too.Well worth the visit.

From the onset this was a wonderful experience, Alta was the perfect hostess. Our room was amazing and we had the most beautiful views on top of that. Breakfast was very good. Highly recommended, well worth that little bit extra spend!

Impressive piece of architecture in a very lush garden. The room are very spacious and comfortable. The staff is very friendly, attentive and available. A very unusual place... Worth the visit if you are in the area...

The bestest thing was the extremely warm welcome I received from Alta who was waiting at the entrance for me in the pouring rain! She immediately made me feel as if I was the most important person there. She helped me get the boot open - (hired car!!!) and took my bag and she walked me to my room. Along the way I was telling her that I was quite damp from the rain and she immediately we got into the room switched the heater on! Who would normally do that???? She then showed me everything that I needed to know in my room, and left with a enjoy your stay. A couple of minutes later I got a call to say my car window was open and she was sending the porter to collect my keys and he would close the window. again the service received was unbelievable. I travel a fair amount and am normally away for one month out of three and stay in various places, but can with all honesty say THIS WAS THE BESTEST PLACE I HAVE STAYED IN THIS LAST YEAR

This is a hotel like no other! so perfectly built with so many zulu artifacts from the entrance to the rooms. The presidential suite was exquisite. It is about 30 minutes away from the central areas so quite and very good for a getaway and meditation. The staff were so kind and made my birthday special with a custom made breakfast (that they didn't charge me for)! Only 10 rooms so you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. I am definitely planning a trip back!
