Very central, nice hotel. Went to our room and could immediately smell something strange; went to the bathroom and got a very strong smell of what seemed maybe to be mould. Spoke to front desk who - to their credit - immediately moved us to a different room that had zero problems. These things happen - what matters is how the hotel deals with it, and they did great. Only comment I’d make is that he said ‘that’s probably the cleaning stuff you can smell’, which was a little patronising. A different member of staff at reception when we checked out apologised again and reported the smel was being looked at, so it appears they did take us seriously. Room was a decent size and AC works well. Limited parking available at rear of property costs £8.

Booked a king size room for a couple of nights while visiting the area. The hotel is well situated for easy access to Reading, Oxford and beyond. The room was spacious, comfortable, well- equipped and very clean. It was cleaned every day with fresh towels and chocolates provided daily! Staff were exceptionally helpful. The breakfast was great - plenty of choice and hot breakfast options. Would highly recommend.

A beautiful hotel in an old building in the heart of the city. The breakfast was very good with plenty pf choice. The only issue was the heating in the bathroom which wasn’t working and despite requests to the front desk wasn’t fixed

Le personnel est amical et poli. Bien qu'il soit un peu de voyage de Newbury et plus près de Thatcham, la situation n'est pas trop mauvaise. Il y a même des liaisons de transport public, avec un bus arrêt à l'extérieur sur la ligne qui relie Newbury à Reading. Je n'ai pas encore essayé la nourriture, car elle me semblait un peu coûteuse. Cependant, il y a un pub près qui sert de excellente nourriture. Malheureusement, il n'y a pas de climatisation, mais les fans sont fournis.

L'hôtel est en rénovation, les fenêtres sont donc partiellement obstruées. La chambre est correcte et relativement propre. L'hôtel est situé non loin du centre-ville, ce qui facilite les déplacements. Il est également proche de la gare, permettant ainsi de rejoindre facilement les villes voisines depuis Reading.

After requesting a quiet room due to having our 11 month old with us we were placed directly above the function suite for a wedding and while testing the sound system the floor below are feet curated and the noise was crazy. The moved us rooms out of the original Manor House we requested and into the furthest room possible from all amenities on offer smaller than our original room, 3rd floor and no lift with a baby in a pram and lots of luggage. The room was also unbearably hot and a crazy sensor/light in the bathroom kept our son (and them us) all night. Not sure if recommended staying here. .

Very good in terms of location, A nice little walk to the centre but far enough out that you don’t really get the noise of the late night drinkers (sat/friday). The room was a decent size for what we paid, nice shower and bathroom small but good for the money we paid. However, the room was really really hot. We had to sleep with both windows open, AC didn’t work at all. The TV has all the normal channels and it worked perfectly. The coffee machine area downstairs was helpful however they didnt give us any cups, put any available out for people to grab or tell us that they even had any. No tea bags or little things of milk which would have been helpful. The machine does make tea however we both werent sure how useful/good it would have been. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a cheap stay in reading.

The over cleanliness of the hotel was pretty poor, hallways were beat up and in need of repair, the sheets were stained and there was dust everywhere. Especially dirty window seals and cigarette burns on the bedside table. The first night the adjacent rooms were arguing and playing loud music until 5am, the second night it was more quiet but the hallways smelt of ******** and every half hour or so someone was throwing stuff about in their room. It has the potential to be an outstanding stay, the staff were fine and coping well with what they have. it’s a shame the people in the area let it down. Missed breakfast so I could get some sleep once everyone had settled down before having to check out and travel again.

La chambre est très confortable et très confortable. Nous avons pu entendre des pas de haut, et le mur était un peu endommagé, probablement en raison de la rénovation, mais il ne nous a pas dérangé. Dans l'ensemble, tout était bon, et nous pourrions revenir une fois entièrement rénové. Merci!
