Balmoral On York

Had a great time super location and the start were very kind. Travelled for soccer very close to the fields and heaps of parking

Enjoyed our stay, particularly the breakfast. Our first floor room had a lovely little balcony. Rooms somewhat dated but clean and new owner Tim has a refurbishment plan which will spruce things up. Good value and extremely helpful staff. James on the front desk and owner Tim is a font of knowledge and keen advocate for the area and Tasmania in general. Look forward to staying again.

An older style, quirky hotel with spacious rooms and good parking. Very friendly service from reception and helpful tips. We arrived early and were able to checkin which was just fantastic. The bed was very comfortable and the separate shower was fantastic with fluffy towels. The walls are thin though so noise does carry. The Continental breakfast was lovely and we sat outside on the terrace.

STAY HERE!! Location / price / view / service / awesomeness!!! THE OWNER Lets start here! Tim, who is the owner and lives local is sensational and really makes the stay absolutely awesome!!! He has a yarn with all the guests at breakfast (which was included) and makes the effort to ask questions and get to know the guest :) wow - what a difference this makes to a stay! I never realised it until I met Tim - what I also loved was that you can tell he has REAL PRIDE in his business as he talks excitedly about the upgrades he is going through and this excitement for the business flows on to the staff that work for him who were all lovely, happy, friendly and helpful 1. I was upgraded upon checkin - my room was awesome! Top level great views! 2. I had a late checkout which was great as I had a late flight 3. Help with info on where to go and what to see - specifically Tim saying to come down and see him daily if I needed help on where to go 4. Shuttle service to airport help 5. Had an early check in at 12pm - Tim accomodated me as I had an early flight Tim even helped to organise the airport shuttle for me and called them up to secure a good price 😀 what service!! If only all owners took a page out of Tims book THE ROOM Wow! Loved it! Nice, clean with awesome views!! I was lucky to get upgraded and had top floor views over Launceston town and I couldnt wait to head back to the room after a day of exploring The bed was soooooooooooo comfortable and the BEST pillows ive ever experienced - I hope I can find 1 to buy for myself! So good! The shower… hello! What great pressure and hot water is fantastic! Mini fridge and microwave with cutlery if you want to have your own meals (which I did) so was perfect for me and one of main reasons I chose this accom BREAKFAST Amazingggggg fresh fruit!!! Chopped fruit around 8 options - this was the best part for me! Also choices of cereals and juices Toast - white / brown / raisin with jams honey peanut butters Black Coffee You can also upgrade and pay for a hot breakfast If you need parking there is free on the property Lift is quick and easy to use Bags kept at reception safe and sound when needed I have nothing negative to say at all about this accom but they have set the bar high in customer service for me Thanks Tim! Great property to use as a base while in Launceston...easily walkable to plenty of eatery options and close to many of the towns must-see locations. The rooms were spacious, fairly modern and well equipped. It is an older property, so the public areas are not overly fancy but the rooms definitely have all you need! The reception staff we encountered were all professional and extremely helpful with both directions and suggestions for sightseeing. Parking is free at the rear of the building but it can be quite busy, so we found it easier to just walk to dinner than hope to grab a space late at night.

Plenty of space and a nice city outlook. Welcoming staff. No flashy lobby but all the important things are done well. Easy walking distance to city area and parks. Nearby restaurants at Yorktown Square. Book direct and get a breakfast upgrade (yummy). Recommended!

Very friendly host and staff. Bed was as comfortable as home. Breakfast included options of a cooked meal. Cooked breakfast as per request and served direct from kitchen, tasty and hot. Now location.. you can walk to any of the amazing cafes or restaurants.. bonus. Very secure parking too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Balmoral on York without hesitation. What are you waiting for? Book your room.

Great hotel, great overnight. Tim the owner was so personable and helpful. Place is walking distance to gorge, parks, river, restaurants, pubs. The breakfast is huge, continental choices and just a small charge for fresh cooked eggs and sides. Will stay again!

Had the pleasure of staying at Balmoral on York in May and had to return on our next visit in July. Clean, comfortable and very convenient. Lovely breaksfasts. Our home away from home. Staff are amazing people keen to help. Owner/manager Dwaine is a legend who went out his way. We will continue to recommend this accommodation. David and Keyden will be back!
