The Castle pub and hotel is a home away for me and my team who use the facilities on a regular basis. We've been going to The Castle for a few years now, everything from an after work drink, lunch to stay-overs for business. The team are super friendly and helpful. Caroline, Becca, Sarah and all the staff at The Castle instantly make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The selection of drinks and the menu is fabulous and great value. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the thoughtful touches are great. I almost don't wish to leave a review as it's a hidden gem but the team deserve a thank you and a mention. We will continue to stay there as our first choice when we're in the area. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed a very comfortable nights stay at the Castle Hotel. We were greeted by a very lovely, friendly gentleman who checked us in and showed us to our room. We booked in for an evening meal and we were not disappointed….. pulled chicken croquettes, honey and ale crispy chicken, steak pie, duo of chicken and banana and butterscotch ice cream. Everything was delicious and we were served by Faye, who was delightful. Breakfast was delicious also, fresh with plentiful choices. We would recommend anyone to make a visit to the Castle Hotel, just lovely! Thank you.

Visited for breakfast with International colleagues who stayed at this hotel. Hotel staff, Caroline and Pam, made us feel very welcome and got the right blend of friendliness and professionalism. Full breakfast was cooked for us (not a buffet) and we had coffee, cereal, pastries and fruit while we waited. A quiet little village location, with very easy access to the M1, especially if travelling south from there. Not known for visiting for breakfasts but it should be! Recommended.

From start to finish the experience was brilliant.. On meeting the manager he walked us to our room and told us about the castle behind the pub. The room was spacious and had everything you need in a room , ie ; TV , Tea and coffee making facilities , towels , ironing board and hairdrier.... A nice little touch was the welcome note on the bed with two chocolates.. The food was excellent with a big selection of different meals. Breakfast in the morning was just as good and the staff were friendly and couldn't help enough.. Overall it was a great experience and a credit to the manager. We would definitely stay again...

A friendly informative welcome, superb clean room with lovely shower, good size tv, quiet, black out curtains, comfy mattress, soft bedding. Evening meal really delicious, great choice good prices nice atmosphere, attentive staff. Amazing nights sleep and breakfast had so much choice well cooked beautifully presented and fabulous staff. Thank you!

Good Food, tasty too! Friendly and welcoming atmosphere, Izzy was our server and was very attentive and answered all our questions and nothing was too much trouble, Lovely Pub in really nice location. We will be back again soon, with friends.

Lovely place to visit. Lovely welcome and remembered us from our visit last year. Lovely Room as we went for Deluxe Room. Really friendly staff. Food was lovely. We were served by a lovely lad called Travis on Saturday night & Pam at breakfast who was also fab & really friendly. Well worth a visit. Great places to go walking if you like walking.

Visited after a long time away Really nice interior Ordered x2 Sunday roasts , Tad disappointed they really don’t give much away , both vegaterian options which consisted of half of butternut squash as the meat substitute The rest was an about half of potato and a few table spoons of veg , maybe about £1.50 worth of food in the plate A rather large Yorkshire pudding (these are cheaply made using flour oil ) taking up space Overall a complete rip off & will never return How these types of places get away with it heats me although for peak Sunday wasn’t that busy maybe this is why

Lovely room and friendly staff. Stayed in room 20, had a huge comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and very clean. Breakfast plentiful and fresh, Pam is a joy. Altogether a great stay. Only thing I’d’ve liked is a small fridge in the room, but that’s personal preference as I only drink cold drinks and always take some with me when travelling.
