The Rest Hotel

This is a perfect location on the beautiful Steep Hill. Our room was immaculately presented, extremely clean, and very comfortable. It had a lovely big modern bathroom, great shower and there's a fab little kitchenette too. We didn't use this as we only stayed one night but I can see how it could be really useful. I'd definitely recommend this hotel, the owners are really friendly and welcoming too.

This small hotel is ideally placed for a short visit to Lincoln, a short walk from all the main attractions. It's admirably run, and could be described as airbnb in style were it not that the owners, Paul and Steph, are often to hand in the café below and are most helpful to their guests.

Situated halfway up Steep Hill the Rest is ideally situated to explore the Old Town of Lincoln. A converted chapel the rooms are very small, basic but clean and quiet at night so had 3 good nights sleep. The cafe below is handy for breakfast. Check in was hassle free and well explained in the confirmation email. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues.

Lovely place in the beautiful old part of Lincoln. Its on a steep hill, and theres external steps up to the rooms - something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. But I dont, so, I really liked the location. Close to the cathedral and castle, and lots of lndependent shops and cafes in quaint old buildings. The room I had was a decent size, with a small kitchenette squeezed in. The bathroom was clean, everything was modern and well maintained. Easy to check in and out, everything was a dream and I would definitely stay here when visiting Lincoln again.

Quick stop for lunch and what a lovely lunch we had at The Rest. I opted for one of my fave lunches cheese and tomato toasty which was really good but soon had envy when I saw hubby’s loaded cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel … ! It was actually deconstructed (I believe that’s how to describe it) - so you had very tasty cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion, beef tomato and capers to top your bagel with as you wished - absolutely delicious - the best I’ve tasted - I usually dislike this mix when buying at a cafe etc as they are normally stodgy and way too much cream cheese. Wish I’d got a photo of it !! Highly recommend.

In a nutshell; beautiful hotel, beautiful location, beautiful owner!! From the moment me and my 4 friends arrived we were given the warmest and friendliest welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is perched on steep hill and everything is done to a superb quality. Super clean and beautifully decorated rooms! The owner is a wonderful welcoming and genuine lady and I would most definitely return! 5 ***** Xx

What a lovely studio apar**ent. Very clean and has everything you need. With a cafe on the groung floorSituated next to Lincoln cathedral but only a 5min walk down into the town centre. Small old style shops on the narrow roads Will definitely go again

We were staying here for my daughters university graduation and how pleased we were with it too. Our stay here was perfect, from the communication we received to the ease of access, to the beautiful room and bathroom provided. The bed was comfortable, with good quality linen and mattress and all the extras you could need ~ kettle, selection of drinks, iron, ironing board, fan, smart TV ~ basically we wanted for nothing. The owners even returned to the property to leave us extra milk and decaffeinated coffee as we were arriving later and then very kindly removed our suitcase and safely stored them as we needed to leave early too. To summarise, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a stay in Lincoln's beautiful Cathedral Quarter and I look forward to returning here again on our nostalgic returns to Lincoln.

What a find! Perfect location (provided you don’t mind the climb!) and lovely rooms. Spotlessly clean and ticked every one of my “good accommodation” boxes: clean and comfortable, duvet warmth suited to the season, good shower, thick towels, sockets near mirrors for drying hair, quiet at night etc., etc. Will definitely recommend to others and would certainly stay again.
